Nexus 7 major issues, may be bricked, guides don't seem to account for my problem

Hi, this forum seems pretty active, which is exciting! Hopefully someone can help me out here. I have searched a bunch and see a lot of similar things to my problem, but I'm running into issues that aren't really described by anything else I am looking at.

Quick background
The device is a 2013 Nexus 7, Wi-Fi version. I never unlocked/rooted the device, so it was basically factory settings. On Thursday everything was working fine. Later that day, it started showing the message "unfortunately the process google.process.gapps has stopped" as soon as I unlocked, even after rebooting. I was not launching any apps. I could navigate for about 1 second every time I hit "OK" on the error before it popped back up, so I tried all the fixes I had found online for the problem (clearing app cache/preferences, disabling/enabling download manager, etc). I decided just to wipe the device and reset from factory defaults. I wasn't confident in the Factory Reset working correctly while the error kept popping up, so I booted into Recovery Mode and just decided to do the Factory Reset from there.

The reset seemed to freeze, but eventually the device rebooted and I got the text "erasing" with the animated robot. This will stay that way for forever, though sometimes it eventually turns into the android icon with the red exclamation mark.

The current problem
Right now, if I boot the device normally, it will show the google logo, then go into "Erasing", which animates. If I hit Power+volume up, it seems to be "erasing /data" but it never gets further than that. If I turn it off, it will turn itself back on and go back to erasing. I have left it on for 14+ hours and it never progresses, other than the times it sometimes stops showing "Erasing" and instead just goes to the red exclamation mark.

I can get to the bootloader menu by holding volume down+power. If I select recovery mode, it shows the Android animating logo (no text) and if I hit Power+Volume Up it shows "Formatting /data..." in the bottom. Eventually this fails and recovery mode will pop up with the following text at the bottom:

I tried downloading and installing the Nexus Root Toolkit and running the "Flash Stock + Unroot" iwth the "Soft-bricked/bootloop" option, but all it seems to do is restart the device a bunch of times and then get stuck on "erasing 'userdata'...

Any suggestions on how I might be able to repair my device? It seems completely screwed up, I have no experience with the flashing/bootloading stuff.

[HELP] adding gmail account without wifi (reverse tethering)

hi everyone,i recently broke my tablet wifi chip (realtek rtl8188etv) :crying: , i figured it was a good idea to use reverse tethering ,
and it worked, but when i want to add my gmail account to my tablet(because i did a full wipe) and it wont let me pass the setting
so i wont able to add my gmail account :(

An unrooted device won't let me connect to me google account/.

Hey guys, I rooted my galaxy 10.1,(Model Number:Gt-N8013, Kernel Version:3.0.31-813049) but after the rooting process, ( I used KingoRoot) I immediately went and unrooted my tablet, and everything went well, it said i successfully unrooted it, but after I restarted my device, I tried to access my google playstore, but it told me to log into my google account, confused, I put in my log in information, but it said, "Couldn't sign in, can't established a reliable connection to the server", after repeatedly trying to sign in, I changed my internet, After reading some forums, it said NOT to do a factory reset, but i'm a noob. I don't know anything about "flashing the kernel", or like "flashing the rom", so being the ignorant fool like myself, I reset factory reset it, but after i did the deed, of course prepared, I lost everything (which really didnt bother me), I still couldn't sign into my google account, I emailed the KingoRoot software team and they said they thing was unrooted correctly. HELP!!!! Thanks, I will try everything.

TL;DR An unrooted device wont let me log into my google account.

2nd gmail account

I have a secondary gmail account that is through a university with a .edu address. When I attempt to add it through gmail or add accounts I get : "Couldn't find your google account. Try again. Now on my moto x 2014 this works as expected.

Any ideas to correct this?

How to reset Samsung Account

Long story short, phone is locked, guy forgot his password, wife in her infinite wisdom bought it thinking I could just wipe it and replace my M8.

It was originally on OF4 but I couldn't find the .tar files, so I tried flashing OF3 with Odin, and it still says that it's locked. I've also checked off on 'Nand Erase All' and to no avail.

How can I get this phone to work?

Unable to access to my account in play store app

Hi,

I cannot get into my account in play store on my phone. I'm running latest Choma with TK gapp stock 5.1.1 20150906. In the attachment is the picture of the massage that I got when I tried to go to my account and if I click on retry play store just stop working.

I'd been searching but not able to come up with anything. Can some one please point me to the right direction?

Made Lollipop Usable -> Disable Account Sync

Somehow over the weekend, thought about disabling the Account Sync, yeah, mail, chrome, keyboard, and my Nexus 7 with Lollipop is usable again! Faster access to Chrome and Keyboard especially!

Nothing else I have tried that I have found online works.

My tablet is not my main device, so its fine to manual sync a lot of things.

Gmail account icons

Hey everyone, I need some help. Since the Gmail app updated to the "Material Design" look, I've had an annoyance when trying to switch between my email accounts. In order to quickly switch, you can tap on the icon for the email address you wish to switch to. The problem is, two of my accounts are using the default Gmail silhouette, so I can't tell which one is which from the menu:

For all three of my accounts, I have uploaded a profile picture via the general tab in Gmail settings in the browser. My personal Gmail shows my picture, no problem, but for some reason the other two don't come through. I'm not sure if it matters, but both are Google Apps for Work accounts . Anyone know how I can fix this?

hi I changed my phone from lg gpro2 d838 to lg g3 d855 and the images which were locked in that device are not opening up in the new device the error which i am getting is images locked by another google account cannot open,

Need help on Samsung Account Lock on S5

I bought a used S5 on Craigslist with firmware G900AUCU4BOF2. I didn't know about Samsung Account Lock so didn't go that far when looking at it. The guy had the box so I wasn't thinking it was stolen or anything like that but yet I cannot get a hold of the seller as of yet. I saw the videos about getting to the accessibility screen but I can't back up and do that on this firmware so I'm assuming that hole was patched. Is there any other way to get the phone unlocked or is it just junk at this point? Would Samsung or ATT do anything? The IMEI is fine. I feel so dumb and appreciate any help.

PLEASE help - What is google photo sync under google account sync settings

Hi. I have been trying to figure this out for a long time. I even posted in the google support forums and got a bunch of bogus answers.
There is a sync option for google photos under settings>accounts>google. There is also a backup and sync option in the photos app itself. My understanding is that backup and sync in the photos app will sync my photos to the cloud, and any changes made will synchronize between my phone and the cloud. What does the google photo sync option do under account settings?

I have tested this extensively....I used my wife's phone to sign into my google account. I turned backup and sync on (in the photos app) on MY phone so a few pics would go to the cloud, and then made sure I shut it off on both phones. The pics appeared on my wifes phone under photos once they were in the cloud, even though I had backup and sync turned off on both phones in the google photos app. I also checked and made sure the sync option under google account sync was off. I then tried deleting a pic on my phone, and sure enough, it deleted it from my wifes phone. I found this odd so turned off ALL sync options, even app data, in my wife's phone and tried deleting another pic on my phone. Sure enough, it deleted on her phone. I also tried turning backup and sync on in the photos app on my phone, and still had ALL sync options off on my wifes phone. Her phone got the pics as soon as they went to the cloud.

Even more interesting: When I turn backup and sync on in the photos app, then go to the sync options under google account, there are TWO options - google photos, and google photos backup!? When backup and sync are on in the photos app, the switch for google photos backup under google account gets turned on, but the google photos switch remains off. This proves that this google photos sync switch is separate than the backup and sync in the photos application. BUT WHAT DOES IT DO and why are photos syncing to my wife's phone, even when I have ALL sync and backup options turned off???

I am so frustrated with google lately and the way they have over-complicated everything. I've rooted plenty of phones and am not a newbie to this stuff so I don't understand how the average person is expected to make sense of this craziness. They offer no support except the google support forum, and I got a bunch of answers there that I could quickly disprove were true.

2nd account sms notification

I'm having trouble with my phone not giving notifications for incoming sms when logged into a second account. The notification light will flash, but there is no other notification (sound or screen) that a message has come in until you switch to the owner/first account. Missed call notification (from phone app) function as expected.

Can anyone replicate this issue? Create a second account on the phone, enable calls and sms for the second account.
Send a message to your phone while in the second account with the screen locked.

Do you get a sound or message on the lock screen to tell you there is a new sms? Is there any notification other than flashing notification light?

I'm being told by support (after going through all the checks, factory resets) that I need to send my phone in for repairs, but this seems futile if it's not a hardware fault. I don't think support has tried to replicate the issue on their side either.

How can I disable my t mobile account app

Disable button is greyed out so how can I disable it?
Also what other bloatware can I disable to improve the battery life?

How do I get rid of T-Mobile My account?

Anybody know of a sure way to disable this thing? I have unlimited everything and I have absolutely no use for an app that sits on my drop-down menu telling me how many texts and minutes i have left. Plus it keeps trying to "diagnose my system". Yes, I know my battery is at 50%, stop telling me my battery health is low, thats what the battery icon is for! :eek:
