Cant reset my s6 edge to factory settings / can enter recovery mode

hi

i switched my s6 edge 64GB to a new phone and i wanted to sell my s6 edge , for that i had to factory reset the device so the buyer wont be able to see by mistake my data ...

i pressed on the factory reset from the settings menu and the phone restarts and didnt delete anything !

i tried to enter recovery mode but without success the phone show the samsung logo and then black screen the return tuch button and the second one are flashing fast few times than the screen flashes 1 time and the phone is dead .

if i press volume down and power it restart or something and the phone works but with the data and i want to earase it all !!

why can i enter recovery mode . ?
pls help !

[Q] Carrier Settings

Hi Friends,

I'm form Argentina and using a Verizon versión of Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) and since I got it, i've been facing some issues that I have been able to solve, but some of then I cannot do anywthing.

According to this, I´m starting to try to make my own ROM from Verizon Stock Tar file for Galaxy S6. I've already extract the files and decompile with DSIXDA.

I'd like to know if anybody can help me to know where de carrier settings are, for example. APN configuration, calling settings such as pre configured *611 to call customer service, voicemail settings, mmi codes, etc.

[DISCUSSION] Priority mode settings

Hello all.

I'm coming from Paranoid Android back to stock 5.1.1 and I notice one major difference between PA and stock.

On PA I would set up the device to allow messages and calls to interrupt in priority mode from star marked contacts only. I would then allow Hangouts to make notifications even in priority mode.

Calls and SMS/MMS would only make a sound if they were from a star marked contact.

On stock ROM this is different. If I allow only star marked contacts to interrupt in priority mode, only calls from star marked contacts will start the ringer - but when I receive SMS/MMS they are silent. I then allow stock texting app to interrupt in priority mode - but now ALL incoming texts and MMS messages starts the notification sound.

Am I not setting it up right, or do you guys have the same problem?

Default app settings problem

I am having a problem getting the default app settings to stick. I have Chrome browser set as my default browser. Everytime I click on a link in a email or in a web page I have to select which browser I want to use. I click on Chrome and select always, then I get the popup notification that I need to go to the default settings and clear. I have done this so many times I can't count them any more. I have tried using the Default App Manager from Google play store but still have to select which browser I want to use each time. I am runing IronRom 2.3.5.

Hey guys, i recently got my mi4 (and updated to miui7), but i have a problem. I've been using OGyoutube for a year or so now and i cant get the browser to open clips in the youtube app, wether OGyoutube or the normal one. I uninstalled the stock UI browser and tried with Chrome, the result is the same. No prompt box.. Anyone with a solution?

Apps on SD card not showing app drawer or in the On SD Card section in Settings

Recently I had moved almost all of my third party apps to the external SD card. Now suddenly I can't see any of those apps in the app drawer. I can see the SD card is showing up in the ES File Explorer. I am using Blisspop ROM and everything was fine for the past coupel months.

Is there a fix for this? What's going on here?

help with notifications settings?

Hey guys,

Is there anyway I can make certain notifications-- e.g. text messages vibrate more than once if they are not discarded/read? I'm right now using google's messenger app and I just cant seem to find any settings that make it so that I get 2 seperate vibration notices (e.g. right away and 30s later) or whatever.

help?

Restore to Factory Settings for Galaxy S5 OC4

I have searched all over this site for hours, and all I find are old descriptions to restore S5 to factory default. Most of them I know do not work any more.
I know that with Super SU, I can remove the root from my device. But if my the OC4 is something I downloaded from here, with "rooted" in the title, then I probably shouldn't just use Smart Switch to restore to factory default.
What do I need to download? Or if there is an updated article on here for OC4 that I am somehow missing, please give the link.

settings lag?!

hey guys, one week ago i updated my S6 to 5.1.1 and since then when you enter the settings and start scrolling, the first couple of scrollings the phone lags, it sorts of jumps, i didn't have this issue when i had 5.0.2....can someone help? i have an "old" 5.1.1, the one with the S6 icons and not the NOTE 5

Can't put APN settings into CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightly.

I have a T-Mobile LG Optimus L90 (D415). I recently installed CyanogenMod 12.1 on it and everything worked fine except for the fact that I don't get no service! My SIM card is in but it made no difference. So I tried manually putting in the APN for T-Mobile but it says "Access Point Names are not available for this user"


It also seems as if it doesn't even DETECT my SIM card. Is there a flashable zip that adds the settings via scripting or whatever, or is there more to it. please help ASAP. Thank you developers!

Settings Crashing?

If I go into Settings, Sounds and Notifications, Ringtones and Sounds and select Messages Notifications or Calendar Notifications they both crash the settings with a message "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" Any ideas? The other ring tones setting and notifications sounds are all fine. Restarting doesn't seem to help and the phone isn't modified in any way other than using the google now launcher.

Multi Window settings?

I have the Verizon Note 5 and noticed when I'm doing multi windows that I don't have the ball in the middle to resize one screen. Anyone know if there's a setting I may have disabled?

Settings stopped and force close everytime

Hi;

When i try to open settings it says "settings has stopped" and force closing.

I tried QS's TW based OG4 , OH3 rom
tried alexndr POF3 rom,
tried Aryamod POF3,
tried Audax TW rom.

tried audax kernel, civz kernel, arter97 kernel and stock one.

It happens all the 5.0 base TW roms.

I tried Aurora Note 4 Port never happen.

I opened in safe mode, the same issue !

I just bought an att s6 and want to use it on Straight talk but I can't find the apn settings anywhere on the phone. Can someone help

wifi settings file, weird

Ok so I updated to 5.1.1. using prerooted flash and all worked fine except I lost all my wifi passwords, I did a twrp backup of 5.0 before doing the update

so I have looked and found where wifi passwords are stored (/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf) but when I look for this file I get to /data/misc/ but there is no wifi folder there either on the phone or in the twrp backup I did before updating

I know I am probably doing something stupid like looking in the wrong place but it seems fairly simple
root folder /data/misc/wifi/ what am I missing, does the xperia do this differently to other devices ? I have one stored password on the phone already and have used a password display app from the PS and it is able to find the details so why can't I

I have Smart Lock (Google) enabled
But I cannot find Smart Lock menu: Trusted Places/Trusted Devices/Trusted Face/

No LTE signal, "No APN settings on this device" on Boost / Cyanogenmod

Recently rooted and currently running cm-12.1-20150913-Nightly-kltespr on a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone that is on Boost. Ever since flashing Cyanogenmod I DO NOT have any LTE signal. If I change "Preferred Network Type" to LTE (recommended) I do not get any data/internet signal at all. Everything works fine EXCEPT LTE and Multimedia messages. Plain MMS works fine but when there is multimedia attached the message "No APN settings on this device" stays on my screen and will not go away unless I delete the message with the multimedia in it and reboot the device. Also although I am on Boost, the rom shows me as Sprint on the top left of my screen.

I have been researching for the past few days and see this is a common problem, at first I thought I had the wrong baseband version and flashed G900PVPU1BOA6 thinking that would fix it because that was the baseband I had prior to flashing Cyanogenmod, after flashing Cyanogenmod I had baseband version G900PVPU30BG1. That was not the issue as everything seems to work the same as it did with the previous baseband version.

I did the remove sim car, restore to default APN settings and that didnt work.

I also downloaded Root Tweaker from the Play store and updated Cyanogenmod APN settings and that didnt work either.

I tried to flash back to stock so that I can update my PRL, get LTE and try the terminal emulator method BUT I am unable to flash back to a stock rom. I dont understand why. Maybe the downloads I am trying are no good, not sure. BUT I know there has got to be an easier way, so if anybody can help me out I would really appreciate it. I'm pretty sure its all with the APN settings. I also feel like I maybe took a step back by flashing my old baseband version. Any help from somebody that can point me in the right direction would be appreciated. Surely somebody has the S5 running on Cyanogenmod with LTE working.

Button light settings. [Root]

Button light duration settings (Recent and Back button lights)



As we know since S6 samsung have removed button light duration setting and we have to use stock 1.5 Second only.
Here small application to set custom duration.

How to use :

- Download and Install attached Button light *.apk
- Open application and select preset duration OR Custom duration. Grant SU permission when asked.
- Preset available are

• Stock (1.5 Sec)


• Off (No lights)


• Always ON (Always On while screen is on)

- Custom

Use slider to desired duration (Values are in Sec) between 1 Sec to 20 Sec and select 'Apply'
On each selection you will see toast message after successful apply.

I have tested on Note 5 but should work on S6/ S6Edge/ S6 Edge + too.
