Issues rooting and Downgrading. Factory Reset Status 2.

I got my LG G3 yesterday night and I tried rooting it for hours, I was on Andrioid 5.0.1 and couldn't get it to work after 6 hours of trying so this morning I tried to downgrade back to stock firmware and now everytime I try I get the Factory Reset Status 2 screen and I am told to just remove the battery and it'll boot but nope it just goes back to the same screen. This is becoming a nightmare I have tried multiple PC's Operating Systems, drivers, firmware files, and multiple tutorials and I cannot fix this.

I think the issue is when the phone reboots instead of being a COM port it becomes a MTP device so LG Flash Tool can't find the device.

I really need help, I didn't plan on spending the whole day trying to fix this but it seems I am going to have to.

Zenfone 2 factory reset and backup question.

I just started a factory reset on my phone after doing a full Asus backup to fix the battery life issue, then while it was rebooting to start the erasing process, I realized that I haven't backed up my photos or files.

It booted up, started to erase, I just held the power button to shut it off. Tried rebooting again, or booting into recovery mode, but it just boots to "erasing" every time. So I have these questions:

1. Does the factory reset in the Zenfone 2 (the one in setting sunder backup and reset) clear the contents of internal sd and erase all files?
I remember I took it to get repaired and they told me to save all the files because they will do a factory reset and that will erase everything, but I'm not sure if it's their special reset or just the normal one in the settings.

2. If yes, does the Asus backup save files or photos? Or just apps?

3. If no for 2, then can I somehow interrupt the erasing process or connect to the phone with ADB without booting into the erasing process and save my files?

Thank you very much for your help!

Restore to Factory Settings for Galaxy S5 OC4

I have searched all over this site for hours, and all I find are old descriptions to restore S5 to factory default. Most of them I know do not work any more.
I know that with Super SU, I can remove the root from my device. But if my the OC4 is something I downloaded from here, with "rooted" in the title, then I probably shouldn't just use Smart Switch to restore to factory default.
What do I need to download? Or if there is an updated article on here for OC4 that I am somehow missing, please give the link.
Thank you!

Bricked G3 stuck at "Factory Reset Status"

When using LG Flash Tool to flash a .tot file, everything went smooth till it boots MiniOS and Shows the blue screen "Factory Reset Status"

Now I can't seem to get beyond this level

I check that it's COM41, using the original cable, plugged to a USB 2.0 port, rebooted PC, etc, but it's stuck at "Waiting For connection when trying again".

Can anyone help me boot successfully?

WiFi not working after factory reset and flashing stock (Flashed modem to PDA)

I accidentally flashed a lollipop modem file to pda instead of to cp. I was installing the lollipop bootloader/modem to my kitkat phone in order to update to xtrestolite.
I am running a SM-G900I.

After the flash my WiFi no longer works. Everything else was fine, although sometimes there was crashes or something else wrong with a rom, but I assume that's unrelated.

Since then, I have flashed probably over 50 times. Multiple kernels, multiple different roms. I have done complete erase, factory erase, custom erase all in recovery, etc. I have now flashed a stock rom with odin... yes full including recovery, modem, non-hslo.bin, etc. after a full erase. After installing it WiFi still not working. unfortunately even after factory reset again.

not sure what to do lol

[SPRINT L720T Spark] "Unfortunately X has stopped" - rom flashing & factory restoring

My phone: Samsung Galaxy S4, Sprint L720T "Spark"

So, having enjoyed a rooted phone, I tried to clear up some space by using Titanium Backup to remove the Google Books/Newsstand etc. services. Every once in a while, I had been getting "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped." I using Titanium to restore them from a backup, but then I started getting various Google processes stopping intermittently. I used it to restore a couple more, and then it was happening all the damn time.

Screw it, I thought, I'll just restore the phone. Nothing changed. Then I thought I'd reflash it. I reflashed it with L720T_OD2_Stock_Rooted_Rom.zip (copied it on the microSD, went to the System Recovery screen, went to apply update from external storage, selected the zip file). However, doing so nets me still service after process which have stopped working "unfortunately." I can't figure out what to do. Any help?

I googled and searched threads, but it seems that most people aren't starting from a fresh flash or accidentally used the wrong ROM, but I don't think that applies to me.

Any help?

Phone stuck in TWRP, can't access download mode after factory reset

Hello all,
My Samsung Galaxy Note II is stuck in TWRP 2.8.7 after I did a factory reset.

I initially followed this guide (wiki dot cyanogenmod dot org/w/Install_CM_for_t0lte) to install CM, which worked fine. I ran into a slight issue and decided I'd try to flash again as it was pretty easy. Turned out to be a mistake as I can't seem to do anything right now and am stuck in TWRP. Every combination of button and reboots I try just bring me back into TWRP. Plugging the phone in the computer recharges the battery, but the computer (running Windows 7) does not recognize the phone. ADB doesn't detect any device.

I tried a few times to reinstall the roms, to no avail as I was unable to boot into anything else than recovery. I then followed some guide and accidentally wiped the roms from the phone. As stated above, I can't access the phone through ADB so I am unable to push them back on the phone.

Please help, I would be immensely grateful. Thanks to all in advance.

Stuck on "erasing" during factory reset, can't boot into recovery.

So I decided to do a factory reset, erase all data. During the process, it got stuck on "erasing". Left it overnight, for NINE HOURS, still stuck.

I can boot into fastboot mode, but I CAN'T GO INTO RECOVERY MODE. When I select "recovery mode" (by choosing the option with volume keys and then selecting with power button), it just boots back into the "erasing" dialog.

I've installed the driver from Intel, but I can't get ADB to recognize my device. Does it have to be in recovery mode to recognize the device, or should it recognize in just fastboot mode?

Kind of at a loss here. Honestly, this kind of sounds like the dreaded Nexus 7 brick problem from earlier this year.

P.S. am I using the correct vocabulary here? Fastboot is the menu where you choose the boot method, and recovery mode is where you can choose to restore to factory settings or flash a new image?

Restore to factory state.

I Would like to sell my moto G2 and for that I would like to revert all my changes I've made.
I've installed a custom recovery and rooted my Phone.
I'm still running Android 4.4.4 and would then like to upgrade to 5.x.

I've found some posts on the matter, but I didn't find a clear step by step solution.
I always prefer it if I have very detailed instructions when playing around with my phone as I don't regularly flash roms etc and don't want to make any mistakes.

If some one would be so helpful and give me a stet by step instruction on what I have to do (backup, stock rom etc)

Thanks for the help.
Daniel

Note 4 5.0.1 Not factory resetting after CF- Auto Root

Hello Everyone,

This is the first time I have ever posted anything on any forum online. I have used XDA to get help while fiddling with my devices before so I would just like to thank all of those who share things on forums.

I have a Note 4 SM-N910c running Lollipop 5.0.1. A few days ago I used CF Auto Root Method to root my device. Needless to say, it worked perfectly. However, today I wanted to factory data reset my device just to remove all the files that I have in my phone. I should mention that I am not trying to 'unroot' my phone. Just reset it.

So I went to the settings and factory data reset my phone but this is where the problem began. After clicking 'Erase All' my phone turned off but then a small android animated figure appeared with the words 'Installing System Update' visible beneath it and then suddenly a red faced down android appeared with the words 'error' beneath it. Then my phone went into the stock recovery where I rebooted my system and my phone turned back on without resetting it.

So my question is that, what in the world just happened and how can I reset my phone? I should also mention that I have no custom recovery installed and I have no custom rom intalled. Can anyone please guide me thru this, I would very much appreciate it.

Thank you for your help.

Chinese double din can't factory reset

I've had this head unit for a while now, today all of the icons have gone blank and the screen looks a little pixelated, and the device runs very slow. This happened after attempting a root. I tried to get into the settings and do a factory reset, but its asking for a pin or a code (numbers only) and I was never supplied with one. I'm not sure if this is common with Chinese Android devices or not. I also tried to reboot into recovery mode, I tried pretty much every combination of buttons while using both the power button (which ks also the home button) and using the restart pin hole button, nothing seems to work.

Looking for suggestions and advice.

Thanks!

HTC M8s - Need help fixing my phone (Can't factory reset or install updates)

Hello (hopefully) friendly xda users,

I will try and be as detailed in the post as I can to make both your lives and mine as painless as possible! :)

So, last week I bought a brand new HTC M8s from the shop. I live in the UK, however I bought the phone in Germany because it was cheaper over there. The phone is unlocked (I didn't buy it on contract, I bought it outright). The phone is on EE, here in the UK (not sure if you need to know that but I'm being detailed).

My previous phone was an IPhone 4 (I know... sorry!) which I’ve had for over 5 years, I bought it at launch back then and haven’t had a new phone since. I'm no longer an Apple user, and have gladly come to the realisation that Apple isn't all that; I feel I can say that here and not get in trouble. :p I've had my eye on the HTC M8 for a while and finely to the plunge; and just bought it.
I had read that you could put a sort of stock google android (Google Play Edition) on the HTC M8, and that is what I had decided on doing. Straight out of the box. I know, all this is throwing up red flags all over the place; new to android, previous apple user, etc. but I ignored those and said to myself "I've jailbroken before, how hard can this rooting business really be". (Boy was I wrong!)

To cut an even longer story short, it all went tits up!

Sorry for all this preamble but I felt it was needed to help give some backroad info on the situation and help you better help me.
So this is how far I got:
I unlocked my bootloader.
My phone is not S-off. (No matter what guide I tried I couldn't get it S-off, I don't know; this could have been the problem.)

This is the sad part of the story:
The next step in the guide was to flash the recovery with a custom one. In the case TWRP.
I copied it all over and then hit recovery. Nothing. My phone just shuts down. "Crap! That's it I killed it." I think.
Anyway, I hard reset my phone and it starts up normally into android. Nothing seems to be wrong. (Feww! That was lucky!)
I try the same process again, same thing. It just turns off; no TWRP, no stock android, nothing.

At this point many hours have past and I'm giving up.

My phone is still working, it's not bricked; I think to myself it could have all gone a lot worse. I just decide to use the google now launcher off the play store and let that be the end of it. (It basically does what I want.)

However, the next day my phone tells me it needs to update. I think nothing of it, click download and install. My phone attempts to install the update then restart. Except now when it tries to restart it dose the exact same thing it did when I tried to install TWRP. It just turns off. I restart my phone, it boots into the android; nothing went wrong. I check and sure enough it didn't install the update. Odd I think, I try to update again (this time leaving it for at least 20 mins); same thing again. Just shuts down, no update.
Ok, I then think a factory reset might fix the problem. Both clicking factory reset from within android or the bootloader dose nothing the phone just shuts down.

To sum up the real problem.
I cannot install updates.
And I cannot factory reset my phone.

Here's what with (my limited knowledge and research), I think is wrong. I don't have a recovery...? So I need to reinstall a stock recovery or stock HTC version of the android OS?
I've read you need to use a RUU?

But instead of trying to tackle the situation on my own (like an idiot (like last time)), I'd do it properly this time and ask the XDA forums for help.

Again, I really know nothing about android; at all! So what I've said about recoveries and RUUs could be total crap for all I know! That said I'm not a total noob at computers and am not scared of using CMD prompt or things of that advanced nature. Really I just need someone to guide me through (in the most basic steps (from the beginning)) as to how to fix my phone. Talk to me as if I was a child and not an adult who should have known better!

Thank you in advanced for being to patient, and helping me fix this problem.
Cheers, FillNill

.P.s Just to be clear, I no longer want to turn my HTC m8 into the Google Play Edition, I just want to reset it back to the Sense version of android. So I can install updates and all that.

No system keyboard, unable to proceed after factory reset

I did quite a stupid thing yesterday - while de-bloating my S4, I removed samsung keyboard (via Titanium Backup) as I was only using the Google Keyboard. Today I had to factory reset the phone, and on the very first screen I realized that there is no keyboard as Google keyboard got deleted by wiping the phone. Duh... What are my options besides completely restocking the phone? I woudl really want to avoid that as I don't want to go through the whole de-bloating process again. Any ideas highly appreciated!

"Encryption Failed" - Phone Will Not Factory Reset

After searching through countless threads on this site, I've had no avail in resetting my Rogers Samsung Galaxy S6 running XtreStoLite 2.2.

A little while ago, I thought it would be a good idea to encrypt my phone with a custom ROM installed. I knew I had recovery and download mode, so I thought It'd be no biggie. Left the phone on overnight encrypting, came back 24 hours later and knew that it hung somewhere. Booted it up and this screen came up: Reset it and restored from TWRP backup, the same screen right here came up: http ://i.imgur.com/J37aZaq .png (sorry XDA will not let me post links, remove spaces) after this, I tried pressing the "reset device" button without success. It just rebooted the phone. Tried to restore from a different backup, no avail, then I tried to flash my custom ROM again through TWRP, no avail. I download ODIN and flashed stock Samsung firmware onto it and it still gave me this screen when I was done. Tried going into TWRP and factory resetting (where it wipes all partitions) and nothing happened. Currently, I'm trying to flash my Samsung Galaxy S6 with the stock firmware through ODIN with the "re-parition" box checked.

It seems there's a hardware flag of some sort stopping this from working. I mean, my file system is brand new, reset to factory defaults, I even checked with ADB and everything has been formatted. Checked with TWRP file manager and everything is good. But I can't get past the "Encryption Failed" screen.

Help me! Thanks.
