Note 4 (N910A) unable to get into recovery mode

Unfortunately I left the phone on in its waterproof/dustproof cover, inside my fully-packed bag with no breathing space and in the car with windows rolled up under the hot sun for several hours.
Once I retrieved my phone it was already boot-looping.
It was very hot. I opened it up to see if there was anything burnt inside (motherboard, camera, SIM, etc.) but didn't see anything out of the ordinary (I'm no expert either).
It gets very warm quickly when I charge it.

I tried to get into the boot recovery mode to see if I could fix the loop by deleting cache or formatting or whatever tips I came across. It would boot, show the Note 4 Samsung Logo with the blue-lettered "recovery boot" in the top left-hand corner, vibrate, then restart and rinse and repeat.

The only hope I have is that it can get into download mode and I have not rooted the phone yet (and I have tried unsuccessfully so far). Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Moto razr maxx stuck in boot loop, Unable to Re-Flash

HI,

So things goes like this; few months ago my Motorola Razr maxx XT910 (India) stuck in boot loop. I did a lot of research for the solution of problem, then i found RSD Lite and compatible firmware for my device so i flashed my device through RSD lite from " ICS (Asia) to jelly bean (EU) ".
here is the file name ( cdma_spyder_9.8.2O-72_VZW-16_1ff.xml ) the firmware file which i have used for flashing.
Eventually everything was good but from last few days my phone is going into the bootloop again but restarting making it boot properly. But today it is stuck in Boot loop and just looped......

i did wipe cache partition and wipe data/factory reset from Recovery option but after rebooting it's again into boot loop. I tried RSD lite again to flash again from cdma_spyder_9.8.2O-72_VZW-16_1ff.xml this file but getting below error:

Failed flashing process. 6/16 flash motoboot " motoboot.img " -> Phone returned fail

USB debugging is Enabled if that could help in anyway.

let me know if you need any more info....

Please help ....

Regards
Devank

[HELP] Unable to update latest Exodus Nightly on OnePlus One

I've been using the Exodus nightlies for the last few months and updating with no issue until the latest one (exodus-5.1-20150921-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip). When I try to update, it passes the MD5 check but then errors out with "error executing updater". I have tried the following and any tips on what I can try next would be greatly appreciated.

Steps taken:

1. I've tried using exodus-5.1-20150921-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip from both the Exodus Updater application as well as Exodus website.
2. I was running TWRP 2.8.6.1 when I initally tried to install the nightly. After some searching, people seemed to resolve the issue by updating TWRP. I updated TWRP to 2.8.7.0 but I'm still experiencing the same issue.

Anyone experiencing the same thing? Any suggestions on what I can try next?

Unable to Flash any Mods on CyanogenMod 12.1

Hello All,
As my number of post suggests am a novice to ROMS and Mods. I've used Acid Audio Engine with Noozxoide on my s3 stock ROM and the combinations sounds awesome
So after flashing the CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM, am trying use the above combo as i dont like the sound of CM built in player. . But somehow Noozxoide and S3 Music Player keep crashing. So tried experimenting with Different Audio Mod. But sadly all Mods including Megabass keep crashing

Am i going wrong somewhere? Do i have to make some changes in settings before flashing these files?

Unable to convert to F2FS

I just updated my toro to CM 12.1. Everything went smoothly, but when I reboot into recovery (TWRP 2.8.7.0) and go to format either data or cache there's no option for f2fs. There's just a blank spot where that button should be and it gives me all the other file systems I can convert into (ext3, ext4, etc). Any ideas on what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

Rooted Z2, Unable to mount /system RW

I have a weird problem that I can't figure out....

I installed the rooted 5.1.1 from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xper...1219?nocache=1, to a rooted Z2.

Root checker shows as rooted...SuperSU and Busybox up to date, can get to # in terminal emulator. I have tried ES File Explorer, Root Explorer and Terminal emulator, and all fail. The only error message I get is from Terminal emulator which is mount: Operation not permitted.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks!

Unable to delete a file from Data partition!

There is a file on my xt1068 with path /data/data/com.google.chrome/app_webview/Cache/8f7f69bc88662934_0 .I am unable to delete this file through any method. It is not visible in es file explorer or any other file manager,i have tried deleting the folder but it fails even after providing root permissions.I have tried deleting it by wiping data partition via TWRP and CWM but both failed.I also tried deleting it using aroma file manager and TWRP's flile manager but no luck.Due to this file i can't create or restore nandroid backup. While installing any new ROM i need to go to the TWRP's file manager and i manually delete all the folder's except the one i mentioned above,to perform a clean install.I have also tried restoring to stock firmaware using fastboot but after installation of rom the file still remains there.
My TWRP always shows this message:"E:Unable to stat '/data/data/com.google.chrome/app_webview/Cache/8f7f69bc88662934_0'
Please help me with this.

Possible unable to charge fix??

Just experiencing the drain of death...

Backstory:
Bought this tablet at a pawnshop and battery was dead for 10$.
Came home and recently had pulled a pile of USB chargers out of the dumpster.
Plugged it into random charger.
Let sit for couple hours, got battery ? sign.
Left over night, battery with critical red sign.
Left another day and almost 35% charged and then was able to turn on.
Corrupted android install and rescue.
Few days of searching, found all the webdoctor files, update script, restored, upgraded to latest webos.
Added PAC-ROM 4.4.4, ran great.
Upgraded to 5.1? Ran like crap and then horrible battery drain.
Left it alone for a few days and died all the way.

The fun part:
Wouldn't charge. Tried 5 different USB chargers, all 2A. No sign of life at all.

Start to think back over the steps and realized...I hadn't tried the first charger I used!
Pulled it off my raspberry Pi cause I knew it was a 2Amp.

Plugged in the tablet. INSTANT BUTTON LIGHT!!!
Left overnight. Hard Reset gets me ? battery logo. Still charging and waiting.....

Differences:

Samsung Galaxy USB Charger - 2Amp 5.3V!
Reports online say some put out as much as 5.6. Most agree the battery charge circuit will regulate the excessive voltage down on 95% of devices.

You can find them online for 5$. Someone else try a 5.3v charger and confirm this.

Explains why my Raspberry was running hot as well..

Alcatel 4015T Simply Unable to Root - Please Help

I have been at this on and off for months now and have exhausted just about every option I come across. Ive tried just about all the options on the XDA forums, and dozens of options found throughout Google, I'm at a loss but there has to be a way to root my phone.

I have an AT&T Prepaid GoPhone (Alcatel 4015T) (Fastboot shows device mt6572v1_phone). The phone is cheap, pretty uncommon, and Ive only discovered maybe 3 people on Google that have had the same question for the same phone but it all went unanswered.

The only progress I have ever made in rooting is booting it into fastboot mode, in this mode fastboot will show the device id (Which I noted above but again its mt6572v1_phone), from there I can do nothing else, all commands sent to it, however they are sent to it through dozens of vendor ids such as (0x1bbb) or no vendor ids, no matter what it will just hang and sit there indefinitely with three dots (...) waiting for the command to be sent or accepted.

Furthermore , in fastboot mode, the only sole way to reboot it is to remove the battery as the entire physical device is unresponsive as soon as FastBoot starts up. Im really desperate to root it but am beginning to lose hope in the idea that its even possible.

Unable to Access Recovery Mode

Hello,
I was trying to flash a custom recovery onto my Galaxy S4 but it failed because whenever I try to access recovery mode now, there's an error on the top left in red saying "SECURE FAIL: KERNEL" and the text "Start Up Failed" ... "Your device didn't start up successfully. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device."

I'm still able to access the other parts of my phone, I just want to get into a custom recovery so that I can install CyanoGenMod, but it's proving difficult. I'm even wondering if my approach is wrong? The directions on youtube or most sites don't seem to be working.

Thanks for any help.

Unable to Connect to Mobile Network on Any Custom Rom

Hi Folks
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini - GT-i8190. I have CWM recovery install which is fully functional - However i have a problem
I have installed about 9 custom roms and none of them, not one, will connect to a mobile network - What i have tried thus far:
  • i have tried three different workjing sim cards -

  • I have tried a total of nine roms ranging from CM 10 to CM 11, Omni, Carbon, Slimkat and several other variations

  • All of these roms install perfectly and are fully functional except for connecting to the network

  • When i use Odin to reflash my Stock Rom Backup - everything works perfectly again - i connect to my mobile server with no issues what so ever

  • When installing a custom rom i always wipe data - factory reset - and i have also tried formating system and wiping Dalvik cache

I am not an expert but i have customized several phones for family and friends and i have yet to completely brick anything - (came close once but managed to use odin to get out of jail :cyclops:)

But this one has me completely stumped - it is fully unlocked and will work with any network using stock rom -

Is there anyone who can point me in the direction of a fix for this - or to another rom that may not have this problem - i realize its probable that its not the roms but i havent found any sign that others are having this problem

Much obliged for your assistance folks

'Unable to charge device' - Wet phone

So i dropped my phone in the lake... Dried it out in rice, everything works except I can't charge the phone.

My wife has a note 4 also so i swap batteries with her to charge. Figured it was the USB port, so I ordered a wireless QI charger, and it too says 'Unable to charge device'. The usb port works to transfer files from the phone.

I've wiped data and cache, no luck.

Is there still a chance it's the USB port, or does this have a motherboard issue written all over it?

Unable to flash rom?

Hello all...

First of all, I'm not very experienced at flashing roms.. HOWEVER, I've flashed several roms across multiple phones over the years and have yet to brick a phone.. so I am fairly familiar with recoveries, etc... But I've run into a "wall" and don't know what to do.... hopefully someone can shine some light to my issue.

My TMobile S5 is currently running Twisted Lollipop (v7?).. but I want to switch now to a CM based rom. I had PREVIOUSLY used a CM based rom (a nightly) dated back from June before I switched to Twisted. My phone is rooted.. and I am using TWRP recovery. However, NOW if I do a full on wipe... and try to flash a rom (so far only the latest nightlies).. it seems to do some partitioning stuff.. and then stops saying COMPLETE... I never get the typical "install" text you see when installing a rom in recovery.. If when it's finished.. when I click REBOOT.. TWRP asks me if I want to.. and warns NO OS is installed..

I was able to load a backup of a CM 12.1 based build from a June nightly I had.... but I get the same thing if I go thru the CM updater. I honestly haven't tried to flash anything else..

Am I missing or overlooking something.. I'm on the DOB1 firmware.

Thanks
aenielida
