Fire System Recovery??

Let me start by saying I am a newbie. I haven't done any modifications or anything of that sort to the device. I have a Fire HDX 7" that is about 18 months old. Things were going great and then my reader started acting up. The device wasn't completely turning pages, and then locked up all together. I plugged it in to charge, powered down and left it to charge overnight. Turned it back on and was greeted by a screen that says:

Volume up/down to move highlight;
power button to select.

Reboot your Kindle
Reset to Factory Defaults

So I chose the Factory Default. It doesn't seem to be completing the erase procedure, it won't boot. I tried customer service and they were less than helpful, offering me a discount on a refurbished unit.

I expected more than 18 months out of this device. Anything I can do?

Rooted Z2, Unable to mount /system RW

I have a weird problem that I can't figure out....

I installed the rooted 5.1.1 from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xper...1219?nocache=1, to a rooted Z2.

Root checker shows as rooted...SuperSU and Busybox up to date, can get to # in terminal emulator. I have tried ES File Explorer, Root Explorer and Terminal emulator, and all fail. The only error message I get is from Terminal emulator which is mount: Operation not permitted.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

How to install apps to system partition and keep them update to save space?

As far as I know one can't re-size the partitions of a I9509... But there is a huge amount of lost space in system partition specially when on a debloated custom ROM.

Therefore I thought isn't there a way to simply install apps to system partition and keep them (automatically) updated there either... Is there a solution for that?
Or any other idea how to use that senseless wasted space?

[Q] Location of APK Files in File System

Hi There!

What are the possible locations of the APK file for an app I installed please?

Is there a way to view where an app is running from ? Like you would the properties of a shortcut in Windows? I am trying to find out the location of the ITV apk on this device so I an upload it to my firetv.

I cannot uninstall system apps even after I ROOTED my android phone

Hi everyone

I managed to root my android phone yesterday (I checked with 2 root-checker apps). Now I'm having trouble removing pre-installed apps like Twitter and Yellow Pages which I never use. I tried few uninstall apps, and after granting them permission from SuperUS, they perform an uninstall (some apps do it forcefully) and give a message that the apps were deleted. The apps are not removed from my application list but when I click on it to run, they give an error message. But when I restart my phone, those apps I deleted start working again as if nothing happened.

What I'm I doing wrong? My phone is HTC One M8, android.

After a VERY long medical hiatus I am looking to do some Dev'ing again. So, as the title says, I am looking for a download of the latest stock apks, already deodexed. Don't want it to be flashable, just want the apps. Thank you in advance.

HELP!!!!! deleted system files in TWRP recovery by mistake, no OS, stuck at twrp.

Hey guys,
title pretty says it all,
while trying to uninstall xposed cause it was causing random rebooting, i by mistake deleted system files instead of caches :( and now it says no os, so i tried formatting everything and installing roms via adb sideload and now am stuck at samsung logo for 1 min then it reboots and do the same thing over and over again.

dont really know what to do, hope u guys can help, any suggestions ?

Help! My gp2 cant boot into system

It works perfectly fine on a rooted 5.0.1 lollipop rom before. But one day morning when i was charging my phone overnight, the phone starts keep on flashing the logo page and cant goes into the system! I didnt install a cwm for it, so i could not get into recovery mode. The only thing i could enter now is Download mode. Anyone could tell me what can I do?

How to install System update with custom recovery

I have a Nexus 5 running Android 5.1.1, rooted and with TWRP 2.8.7.1 recovery. Yesterday I received a "System update downloaded" notification, and when I clicked on Restart & Install, it booted to TWRP. I didn't know what to do, so I just booted to system. The "System update downloaded" notification appeared again, which tells me the update was not installed.

How can I install this system update?

[Q] Should I update my Z2 system software?

I bought sony xperia z2 last month and it shows me notification for a system update 23.1.A.0.690 (5.0 Lolipop)... I ignored it and never downloded the update because one of my friend had Xperia Z1 and he updated the system software but after the update he started having issues with the phone like it always autoshutdown due to heat up and was almost impossible to restart it.
Many of my friends who owns sony xperia smartphones suggested me not to update because they also started having issues with their devices when they updated the software. one of the main issue they had was the phone slowed down.
I have kitkat software right now. I just want to ask you guys who own Xperia z2 and recently updated to this latest software update, are you guys having any kind of issues and what you people suggest should i stick with the kitkat version or update it

Can't mount /system, Odin doesn't recognize phone

Hope you guys can help me, I ran outta ideas. Here's my problem: I was on a cm12s based rom, downloaded latest SlimRom and when I was installing (using twrp recovery) it gave me an error: "Unable to mount /system". I read some stuff on different websites and ended up trying with another rom and other Recovery's (philz and cwm) but none of that helped. After that I downloaded stock rom to install via Odin but Odin doesn't recognize my phone, I installed Samsung USB drivers, installed kies, tried with different usb cables, tried with different computers but Odin simply doesn't recognize it, now my phone is stuck at download mode since I don't have os installed, is there any way to fix unable to mount system problem? Or to make Odin recognize my phone? I would really appreciate your help.

I got Ubuntu up and running via VM, so I thought i'd root the new Rogers version 10h for us.
Thanks to greganka for the system image for me to root.

The instructions for how to flash it can be found in hackarchive's "Root ANY LG G4 Variant 100% Success Directives | Root Injection | Less Bricks" thread. Thanks to him for that.

As usual, I will not be held responsible if you happen to brick your phone flashing this image, by picking the wrong command, etc.

Can´t write to system

Hello all,

i have 2 Sony Xperia V mobile phones and i installed the same rom on it (CARBON-LP-5.1.1-UNOFFICIAL-20150812-1159-tsubasa). With one of both i haven´t any issues but with the other one i can´t write to the system folder. I tried ES File Explorer to make the system RW. No error message follows but i can´t write to it. I tried the Mount app and the same result. No error message but i´m not able to write to the system. Apps like Gallery can´t work but no external Storage available.
I installed both phones with the same kind of installation. One works fine one not.
Can anyone help me to find the solution?

Note 5 and Car Audio System

I have a 2015 Ford Focus ST with Nav and the Sync system. I cannot get the Note 5 to play audio over USB or BlueTooth. I can get audio over USB and BT on my iPhone 6 and an older Nexus 5 I have.

Does anyone know where the USB and BT settings are on the Note 5 so I can adjust them to get the Note 5 to work?

I've rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N915F) and found that Current Binary, System Status and Knox Warranty Void has been changed.

I can reset these with TriangleAway by Chainfire on older Samsung devices, but is it possible to do that on this phone?
