GPS location & direction in Google Maps

When using Google Maps, I'll press the circle to center in on my location, and the arrow is supposed to show the direction I'm facing. About half the time, it shows me facing about 30 to 90* in the wrong direction. The arrow will move left or right as I do, but still faces the wrong direction. There have been occasions when it will show the dot and arrow moving and facing backwards while I'm driving. This hasn't affected Navigation, as it still accurately shows my location. Has anyone else noticed this, or have a solution?

What I've tried so far: Sensor Calibration under the *#0*# menu.

Also, I had this issue on my Note 4 as well.

Wrong location when using high accuracy

I'm running stock 5.1.1 on the LMY48M build and when I have high accuracy enabled in location settings, it shows that I'm in Houston, TX. I'm on the other end of the country in Michigan though. If I go to Google Maps, it shows my correct location. It also shows the correct location if I switch to Device Only in location settings. But in Google Now and Chronus, with high accuracy enabled it shows Texas. Has anyone experienced this before? I've searched all over and couldn't find any information.
E: Also, I'm on Verizon.

What are the possible locations of the APK file for an app I installed please?

Is there a way to view where an app is running from ? Like you would the properties of a shortcut in Windows? I am trying to find out the location of the ITV apk on this device so I an upload it to my firetv.

SMS / MMS DB Location

Hi guys,

Had a bit of a search already, but can't find the info. I'm new to the HTC One M9,and after rooting and my first setup I tried restoring my mmssms.db file from my old phone but to no avail. Is this file still the correct location? My old phone was a Z2 running Cm12.1. I'm hoping to flash a new rom shortly, but hate having to wait hours for SMS Backup and Restore to do the job, I was so used to just copying the actual database and restoring it in recovery.

CM12 Privacy Guard - WiFi Scan for Location always active?

As no one in the Q&A forum could give me an answer, maybe here someone knows what's going on "under the hood".

Privacy Guard tells me that location is constantly active using Wi-Fi scan with the settings app although I've Wi-Fi turned off:


That is annoying as first I do not want my location constantly monitored and second this maybe also is not "battery friendly".

Anyone knows what's going on here exactly? Is it true what privacy guard tells me?
On CM11 the settings app was not constantly monitoring the location using Wi-Fi when Wi-Fi was turned off.

Changing default install location---> Bootloop

Hi,
I would like to ask id there is any way of getting away with this without restoring..
I changed the default install location with Lucky patcher to INTERNAL. After that I manually rebootet but my phone (HUAWEI MATE 7 ) stuck in bootloop. I tried these:

• Clear cache partition/dalvic cache


• Uninstall lucky patcher in safe mode

Nothing happened though....
Is there any way to undo this?

Lollipop CM12 Privacy Guard - Location always active?

It seems as if location is always active in CM12. Is this true?
I've CM12.1 installed on my Nexus 5. I use it without GApps.
Except when I'm abroad, I never use WIFI and keep it disabled. I rarely use GPS, when activating it I use GPS only mode.

When I enter the advanced privacy settings in Privacy Guard I get the following under location:
As I cannot post a screenshot, here is what it says:
Android System - monitor location (used 11 times), coarse location - running
Settings Wi-Fi scan (used 93 times), coarse location - 0 min ago

How can this happen when WIFI is disabled? On Kitkat this was not the case.

Is it possible to get rid of this behavior? I do not want Settings to constantly scan WIFI and Android System monitor my location. This is very annoying.
If it is really constantly active it also will drain the battery faster.

S6 Edge (rooted) location information incorrect

Hi,

I am using a rooted S6 Edge (SM-G925FQ)
On location settings , I have enabled wifi, mobile and GPS.
If I am outside, and the phone has GPS coverage, it shows correct location.
If I am inside, and no wifi is available (off), it shows very incorrect location information. (out of my country borders, even 500-600km away)
So it seems that the phone does not show correct location when it uses mobile network.
However, from same location and same settings, my old S5 and S3 show correct location (through mobile network)

is this a known problem with S6 ?
How can I solve this issue ?

Location of book covers for downloaded ebooks

Covers (jpegs, jpgs, pngs, etc.) for ebooks on the sdcard are in its root in .docThumbs. For ebooks in the internal memory the location is parallel, but in the root "media" folder.

Does anyone know the location of covers for books that have been purchased from B&N? They must exist somewhere locally because they show in thumbnails in the library even when off-line. I think I've located the downloaded books but can't find the covers.

Disclaimer: I actually only have three "free Friday" books but I am assuming they are handled the same way as purchased books would be.

Photos in gallery tagged with GPS location

Hello All,

So Im looking at my photos in the gallery and they're tagged with GPS info.

I've checked the camera and it says the geo location is off. I've tried to enter settings in the gallery app but doesnt seem to be an option. I've also checked my geo location in other apps and everything is turned off.

Does anyone know why this could be or how to turn it off?
