Z3 Compact AOSP Bug tracker

Hello all,

I have had my z3 compact for quite a long time, and i am starting to get tired of the stock sony firmware. I have been looking at the forums for a while now, to figure out which custom firmware i want to run. The thing is i want a firmware that is either as close to stock as possible, AOSP or a CM 12.1 rom.

I Just can't seem to figure out which bugs are present i which builds, and i'm having a hard time finding a bug tracker that's usable for me.
Do any of you guys know of a rom with a minimum of bugs that can be used as a daily driver?

8.4 Tab S or Sony Z3 Compact Tablet?

I have reading all sort of reviews on the Samsung and Sony.

It seems to summarise into the below, but would like some real world feedback. Particularly how they are behaving on the latest version of the firmware. (I am looking at the 4G/LTE version for both

Sony Z3 Compact Tab
. All the reviews I read showed this was faster
. Worse screen but still good
. Better sound
. Large bezel
. Great battery life

Samsung Tab S 8.4
. Slower due to bloatware *but have read the latest version of android may resolve this?*
. Bigger screen and fantastic quality
. Average sound
. Small bezel
. Weak battery life *resolved with latest android?*

I can get them for about the same money, give or take £10. So price isn't an issue.

What are your thoughts? Particularly in light of the latest software releases. I know both Sony/Samsung can release some rather patchy updates!

XPERIA Z1 Compact official Android 5.1.1 review (and FTF)

So i just update XPERIA Z1 Compact to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop today and here is something about it

- phone is still very fast and stable
- new launcher with rotating and you can choose size of icons
- Linkedin integration to calendar
- much better sound setting
- new quick settings
- i will soon test Antutu and Stagefright

For now, i can recommended the update. There are just some FTF live on the net, i always prefer RU version, so if anybody want it, here is link to my site, where is it publish.

PS: i know, that there is another thread about 5.1.1, but it is very old and many pages about nothing... So here something clean with live reviews and impressions...

Z5 compact dock?

Given the Z5 doesn't have the magnetic charging option (as far as I can see), will there be a dock? Looking to upgrade from a Z3 compact and would really miss the dock if there isn't one.

Sony XPERIA Z5 Compact versus Sony XPERIA Z3 Compact

I use Sony XPERIA Z3 Compact about one year, so i think that i know this phone very well. I also visited IFA and check new Sony XPERIA Z5 Compact. I dont want to make comparison this two phonew, because it is normal, that new model have more functions. But maybe many users (and me too) think about upgrade, so here is my review, why upgrade (and why not)

+ much better camera
+ double internal storage
+ fingerprint scaner
+ 100 mAh of battery
+ Snadragon 810 (looks like problem with overheating or done)
+ design (for some users)

- prize of new phone
- same display resolution and RAM
- Z3C have much better support on XDA
- design (for some users)

So my result? If prze will be enough interesting, i will buy new model. All three phones from XPERIA Z5 family are excelent... But there can be only one best compact smartphone on the market :)

sony z3 compact d5803 lollipop update problems

Hi I have a sony z3 compact D5803 and I recently done the lollipop 5.1.1 update (build number 23.4.A.0.546) since I have done the up date my camera will only focus on things real close like on the hairs on my arm, It wont focus on the person sitting next to me or things that are any more than a few inches away. My up button on my volume has also stopped working I'm guessing these are related in the problem as the update was supost to upgrade the camera and the volume settings I think. Is there a quick fix to this or do I need to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.4 or lollipop 5.0 witch I think I was on. My laptop is running windows 10 dose the flash tool install on that and will it work ok and where can I find the firm ware for the downgrades if I need to do them. I'm new to this site and any help will be great :):):)
