Cellular network (calls and sms) not working

Phone is rooted and unlocked with multirom since July and has been working great. 3 roms installed; liquidsmooth 5.1.1, chroma 5.1.1, and Ubuntu.

Yesterday, calling started to be intermittent. Sometimes switching airplane mode on/off fixed it, sometimes it didn't. Today I cannot get calls to work at all. Phone shows dialing but then hangs up before any ringing. Incoming calls don't work either, it goes straight to voicemail. I thought it may have been lollipop but the problem occurs in Ubuntu as well. Funny thing is that the phone finds the network carrier and has decent signal.

I havent changed anything on the phone recently, only thing is that I dropped it 3 days ago. Thankfully no cosmetic damage, but am starting to think internal damage.

I've tried soft reboot, cold booting, pulling the sim...no luck

Should also mention I'm on virgin mobile canada...
Any ideas?

Wifi and cellular network wont work

i had exodus rom,i wanted to update it so i did and the installation failed.
when i booted back wifi was stuck on turning on and cellular network stuck on no service.i restarted on my phone reseted it self...including my backup :crying:
i flashed the stock firmware and the wifi is still stuck on turning on and cellular network still on no service!
i flahsed Oxygen and it try to" Activating cellular service" ,failed for servel of times...
ive reseted the phone completly,multiple times...
the sim card is working fine on other phones.....im very bumped that all my media has been earsed,now the phone isnt working....please help me :crying::crying:

[Help] Using LG G3 Verizon model on Sprint Network

As the title implies, I've tried my own research and came up with nothing on the matter. The Verizon model does not work with a Sprint SIM though it is claimed to be unlocked off the manufacturer so I'm leaning towards compatibility being the problem, is there any way to solve this? Maybe something can be done if the phone is rooted and using TWRP? Thanks for any help.

Mobile Network Calibration

Hello people.

The D855 I sent to a shop for fixing returned back with root access open. Asking them about it and why was it done, they simply told me that in D855 after a motherboard replacement (which is the case with my phone) they need to open root access in order to calibrate the 3G/4G connection that can only be done with root access and if it is not done that phone might experience connectivity issues and/or non accurate GPS (which are both present). They also said after making the calibrations they update a higher level version of Android and therefore have the root access removed. They said something must've gone wrong in my case that they haven't cleared root access and they apologized.

My question is, are they saying the truth about calibration part? I have never heard of such a thing. Does anybody know something about this case?

Issues with MMS, Network, and Wifi on OPO

I am having issues with cellphone network, Wifi, and bluetooth. I think this issue may be due to the a bug in Android and not specific to the ROM I am using. In addition, I think this issue is specific to OPO. The reason I know is because for two weeks, I was using Nexus 6 with stock 5.1.1, and I never had any of the issues listed. I started noticing the issues again when I switched back to OPO. These issues existed in all previous builds of the ROM I am using.

I want to know if anyone else is having similar issues and how it can be resolved.

My carrier: T-Mobile
Build: BlissPop OFFICIAL-20150906
Baseband version: .3.0.c6.5-00007-M8974AAAAANAZM-1
Modem Firmware installed: Bacon Firmware May 15
Install type: Clean install by first wiping System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache

The issues are as follows:

1) I am having issues receiving MMS. When connected to Wifi, I never receive MMS. I see that my contact sent me an MMS, but I have to first turn off Wifi then tap to "retry download of the MMS" for the MMS to show up. Another example is when I have a group MMS. I don't receive the message in the group thread. I receive MMS from individual contact, and I have first turn of Wifi and then tap to retry download of the MMS. Then only the individual message shows up in the group MMS. I think this issue is independent of the Messaging app I used. I ensured to to turn on automatically fetch MMS under the settings of the Messaging app I am using.

2) I am often in a building with poor network but connected to Wifi. When I leave the building, the phone disconnects from Wifi, but then also keeps saying no network despite the reception being good. I have reboot phone for it to catch on to the network again.

3) If I am talking on the phone, and I enter my house, the phone doesn't connect to Wifi automatically. I have to first disconnect my call for the phone to connect to the Wifi...

4) Issues 2 and 3 may be interrelated, because sometimes I noticed that when leaving a building with poor reception but connected to Wifi, I have to first disable Wifi for the phone to catch the network.

I by coincidence went to Walmart near my house in Orlando Florida and talking to a stranger in the parking lot about phones and networks he said that #AT&T have the faster network and I told him lets put this to a test so I'm with #T-Mobile, and so we did.

He got TOP in 5 tries 19 Mbps Download and 3 Mbps Upload.

In my turn, we were so amazed that I did 7 tests which my Top was 92.94 Download and 16.34 Upload.

[MOD] [FIX] Remove roaming on home network

Backup your system, not kidding, do it!
This fix works for me and I share this with you. I am not responsible for any damage to your phone or any data loss you encounter.

Symptom:
When connecting to home mobile network you have to enable data roaming in order to get data working.

Cause:
Your mobile provider is using different MNC numbers which are not recognized by Android as a non roaming network.

Fix:
According to wmn79's thread we can fix this by modding the framework-res.apk of Android. He mentions in his thread to push the modified apk with custom recovery update.zip. As I want to stay on stock rom this is no solution for me and fortunately there is a way without custom recovery.

• Root your phone. I am on stock 090915 (OTA) and it came pre-rooted. All I need to do was installing SuperSU from Playstore.


• Copy framework-res.apk from /system/framework to your computer


• Install apktool (http://ibotpeaches.github.io/Apktool/install/)


• Install framework: "apktool if framework-res.apk"


• Decompile framework-res.apk: "apktool d framework-res.apk"


• Edit/Create Files in created framework-res folder (details below)


• Compile framework-res.apk: "apktool b -c framework-res"


• Copy the modded framework-res.apk (It is inside the framework-res/dist folder) to the Downloads folder of your phone. Do not copy it directly to the /system/framework folder!


• Use your favorite file explorer (I use ES File Exporer), mount /system read/write and move the framework-res.apk from your Downloads folder to /system. Again, do not move it to /system/framework folder!


• Inside the /system folder check and correct the permissions of the file, it should be rw-r--r-- and should belong to root:root.


• Now you should move (do not use copy!) the file from the /system folder to /system/framework


• Shortly after this is done on my phone several Google services and apps were killed, just for your information


• Reboot your phone

So you know how to install the mod, but what is it about? When you decompiled the framework-res.apk there is a folder named "res" inside of the folder "framework-res". In this folder you have to create a new one with the mnc and mcc numbers from your apn settings. I describe this on the example of O2 in Germany. O2 has mcc 262 and mnc is 07. The folder to create is "values-mcc262-mnc07" inside this folder create a file named "arrays.xml". Actually I just copied the hole thing from another folder and edited it to the following contents:

The item consists of the mcc and mnc number of the network which can be used without roaming. In this example this is the former E-Plus network which is merged with the O2 network. There can be more than one item in the string-array list.

I have done this, tested it and for me it's working perfectly. I can give you my framework-res.apk if you are on O2 as well, send me a pm. If you are on a different network and got stuck on my explanation just give me the mcc and mnc numbers and I provide you with a framework-res.apk. As the framework-res.apk is tight to the ROM this will only work if you are on stock 090915.

Unable to Connect to Mobile Network on Any Custom Rom

Hi Folks
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini - GT-i8190. I have CWM recovery install which is fully functional - However i have a problem
I have installed about 9 custom roms and none of them, not one, will connect to a mobile network - What i have tried thus far:

• i have tried three different workjing sim cards -


• I have tried a total of nine roms ranging from CM 10 to CM 11, Omni, Carbon, Slimkat and several other variations


• All of these roms install perfectly and are fully functional except for connecting to the network


• When i use Odin to reflash my Stock Rom Backup - everything works perfectly again - i connect to my mobile server with no issues what so ever


• When installing a custom rom i always wipe data - factory reset - and i have also tried formating system and wiping Dalvik cache

I am not an expert but i have customized several phones for family and friends and i have yet to completely brick anything - (came close once but managed to use odin to get out of jail :cyclops:)

But this one has me completely stumped - it is fully unlocked and will work with any network using stock rom -

Is there anyone who can point me in the direction of a fix for this - or to another rom that may not have this problem - i realize its probable that its not the roms but i havent found any sign that others are having this problem

Straight Talk AT&T Network Issue

I have trouble connecting to a certain website using the Straight Talk AT&T BYOP sim card on my Nexus 5. The website is Chatango and whenever I try to login into my account on LTE, I receive error message net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE using the Google Chrome web browser app. I also downloaded the Chatango mobile app from the Google Play Store and I receive the same error message. However, I only receive this error message when I'm on LTE or 3G. If I switch to Wifi, both the Chatango app and connecting to the site on Google Chrome works without any issues. I am running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

To troubleshoot this problem, I took an activated sim card directly from AT&T (not from Straight Talk) and put it in my phone and I was able to connect to the site without any error messages. I even took an activated sim card from T-Mobile and I was still able to connect to the site. It's only with the Straight Talk's AT&T mobile connection on LTE or 3G where I receive this problem. So I thought it would be a carrier issue with Straight Talk. I called their customer support and they claimed that they could not help me with the issue. They claimed that it is a "Google" problem and that there is nothing they can do, despite the fact that the site works on any other carrier that I tried it on and it works on Wifi. Can someone help me with this? I am also using the latest APN settings according to what is presented on Straight Talk's website.

Help needed to buy sim network unlock code - samsung galaxy core prime

My friend have got Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (SM-G361F) as a gift. It is bought from UK and have sim network lock in it. Device have got bricked when trying to root it. So i flashed G361FXXU1AOH4_G361FLUX1AOG1_LUX firmware downloaded from sam mobile through odin and its working now. Still the sim network lock is there. Now we need to buy an unlock code for this and all the sites asked country of origin and carrier. Is it still UK or Luxemburg? Also pls reccomend a trustworthy unclocking service if you know.

[Q] No Network

Hi everyone. My friend and I tried to flash a custom rom to his Xperia S. so before that we have to root, install recovery and etc.
we succeed on flash everything but that's what we thought. We noticed that the phone doesn't have any network, tried different sim and both from different networks are useless. So we Read and we still can't find any solution.

the phone IMEI is intact
the phone is sim unlocked
the baseband is 8660-AAAABQOLYM-313065-39
the phone is on .96 FTF

we already tried to revert back to .96 FTFs I think the baseband is not compatible with our country Philippines.
we already tried downloading the .96 customized PH FTF from Xperiafirm but still there's no luck.
we already tried repairing through PC companion
we already tried flashing FTFs .200 .211 and.96

Can you help us?

Reboot requires registration on network.

That's my problem. Everytime I have to reboot, my phone forgets my network and I have to register on it. I'm on CM12.1 nightlies.

Network Lock Menu via Service Menu

Does anyone know how to get to the network control via the service menu on the ATT note 4?
I know *#197328640#. will open the Debug Screen, Im not sure how to get to the Phone Control, then Network
Lock and then the options menu.

Just got my pure yesterday and it keeps giving me connection timout with WiFi. It seems like it does it after it sits for a bit. I made sure WiFi is always on as well. Anyone else seen this?
