Bought a NEW S5 from china - now I want to kill myself. (Verizon locked)

I recently bought an S5 on ebay from a seller in china. In the settings, it shows SM-G900A in 'About phone', but when I tried to flash a custom ROM, I got a message that Software not authorized by VERIZON was detected on the phone and I should return it to a Verizon retailer.
Since I live in Sweden, this is not an option, and I flashed back to stock.

This breaks my heart, completely. I don't want to be stuck on TouchWiz 4.4 - I've been running custom roms since the dawn of custom roms!

Is there any known way to bypass this crap? I've already sent a message to the chinese guy, but my hopes are not to high.

At least it could be rooted with towelroot, so I'm not completely screwed.

I am helping out a friend with his Lenovo K3 Note which he imported from Asia

The phone is unlocked and we changed the APN's earlier. We rooted it, removed some bloatware and now after a few days he comes back and there is no mobile data signal available.

I know it probably has to do with something else, but my main problem is that the APN is locked, even though it wasn't earlier.

How do I delete it?

Help, i337m won't stay locked to WIND

Hello, ive acquired a Rogers s4 i337m that has been sim unlocked and rooted, and possibly aws enabled. It has worked for about two months on Wind with no issues and all of a sudden it started dropping signal and lock into roaming mode.

I've done many firmware upgrade and downgrades, flashed custom ROMs and different modems. Formatted the /system, data, cache, dalvik.

On a fresh install it looks like it works. Until I put the phone away. After about 30min to an hr the phone automatically switches to Roaming and I don't even have an option to select Wind as a network provider.

Anyone with similar issues could please xhime in?

My camera button is locked. Can I disable it?

Hey I don't know how to do all that fancy stuff with rooting and such, super stupid when it comes to tech. Is there a simple way to just disable the button? It's locked / like thinks i'm pressing it down so I literally can't use it because it just keeps opening firefly and the camera. It's driving me insane. Thanks

Rooting Orange Z2 with locked bootloader

Hello, I recently bought an xperia Z2 from someone that had it from the french operator Orange.
Running on a heavily bloated lollipop 5.0.2 with a build number of 23.1.A.1.28 D6503 with a locked unlockable bootloader

Being a samsung user all my life, this seems a new territory to me, I first wanted to clean everything up and have it running on CM12, that seems impossible because of the bootloader lock.
Then I failed rooting it and got really confused. the device also doesnt boot into recovery AT ALL

Can you please help me root the hell out of it and clean all the crap that Orange put in it? and also would you please suggest a debloated clean stock rom(kitkat is preferred)

I bought the Kenya version from Jumia. Is the bootloader locked? Is there anyway I can tell if its locked or not?

Also, if its unlocked, can I flash a custom recovery then root thru it?

i have an Xperia M C1905 with locked bootloader and i can't seem to unlock it but i really want to flash new roms of Android 5 but i have no idea how to do so without CWM so can you please help me by telling me how or showing me a thread that does i will be forever thankful :D ;)

How to recover a locked out phone

Hello guys,

Was hoping someone would help with the dilemma I'm facing right now.
A friend of mine got locked out of his phone with WiFi and Data disabled, so all the options for resolving that either by logging with google account or resetting the backup password will not work as he can not remember his backup password.

The obvious choice would be to reset the phone, but he is desperate to get the data stored on his phone as he has not done a backup recently and it would be lost. Retrieving the data via USB will not work either because it is set as Media device rather MTP option.

I've read that I can flash a stock ROM and TWRP which would help in backing up the data first before flashing, but apparently TWRP is not released yet for this AT&T version.

Anyway, my question is, is there anyway that I can backup the data from the phone at its current state or is there a way to force Wifi or data on !?

If not, how can I flash a stock ROM using Odin while the phone is locked and not rooted originally !? this is assuming of course it will not wipe out his data entirely

Disable power button menu and volume keys when screen is locked

Hi,
I installed an anti-theft tracking app on my phone but I can't disable the "airplane mode, sound, reboot, shutdown" menu (that appears when you long-press the power button) and the volume rocker, when the device is locked but the screen is on... so anyone can just shutdown my phone or mute the ringtone or put it in airplane mode and that makes the tracking app useless.

I tried using "Smart lockscreen protector" by nez droid but it doesn't work.

Is there a way to disable these "features"?

PLEASE HELP!!!! Nexus 6 with LOCKED boot loader stuck in BOOTLOOP with stock recovery

so here is what happened, i was rooted with an unlocked boot loader running chroma rom. i then tried to unroot my device to return completely back to stock. After the process was done, i formatted and wiped everything then did a reboot. when android started up chroma rom was still on there and i can't access developer settings to unlock my boot loader to flash stock image. so now i am stuck with a locked boot loader and a bootloop device. i have tried adb sideload and got back 2 errors that the footer is wrong and the signature. i don't know what to do now. so Please Help! thank you in advance.

Backup locked Z3 Dual

My mum's Z3 dual is locked with pattern and she can't remember it. My Xperia is not activated, neither is USB debugging. I tried using Android Device Manager and it locked the device, but there is no text entry field, and when I press back it still asks for the lock pattern. I know I might have no choice but to wipe the device, but I just want to know if there is a way I can save my data.
Software version is 5.1.1

Soft break, /cache mount problem with locked bootloader

I breaked my Nexus 5 by restarting it while clearing the cache. I cannot use `fastboot flash cache` since I have locked bootloader using BootUnlocker. I have CM12.1 with CM recovery installed. Is there any way to unlock the bootloader using CM recovery or fix the cache partition without oem unlock?

Flashed kernel on locked bootloader, screen won't turn on

Hi my devices screen won't power on after flashing AndroPlus v59 kernel on my locked bootloader Z2 5.1.1 on (Forgot custom kernels require bootloader unlock).

Holding the power button causes vibration but the screen doesn't turn on. Neither does it boot up as my PC doesn't detect it. I can't boot into recovery either. Flashmode/fastboot appear to be working (blue/green LED lights up) but again PC does not detect it in flashtool or adb with the correct drivers installed. Note that trying to force reboot (holding power+vol up) causes no triple vibration.

Is there anyway to fix this (without wiping if possible) or have I bricked my device for good?

Boot Sound locked when using Encryption

Hi Guys,

I just want to preface this by saying I cannot root my phone. Not because I am incapable but because this is my corporate phone and I would no longer be able to use it for work related things if I rooted it.

I am using a Bell Canada Samsung Galaxy S6. Every person I've come across that has an S6 or newer samsung phone is able to boot up on silent and not get the samsung noise when the logo comes up. I tried doing a hard reset on my phone just to test to see if my phone would boot silently if I set it on "Mute" mode and it did WITHOUT encryption but I am forced to use encryption by my company's device management policy app or I can't access other things like my e-mail.

Having said all this, does anyone know how to get the device to boot silently without rooting with these factors in mind? I reached out to samsung and they were clueless. As far as the support knows, the phones cannot boot without the noise even on "Mute" mode which is clearly not the case.

I'd really appreciate any help and insight. I've tried the Silent boot app as well with no success. I've noticed this happens only when encrypted and upon checking the volume settings on the screen where you have to put your encryption password after booting up, the volume settings are kicked back to default. This has to be the dumbest and most annoying oversight ever.

Help on locked gallery image

I moved an image folder to my SD card which contains my locked images to save space in my internal storage.
When I try to open the locked images in gallery it doesn't show those images so I returned back the folder to its original directory which is in internal storage inside gallery folder.
How do I retrieve/show again in gallery all images that are locked?

So I changed the PIN on my tablet and forgot it. Now I am trying to get in and I cant, I assumed there would be an option to log in with my Google account, but I do not see that option anywhere. There is no forgot password button like most phones for some reason. Is there no option for this at all on this tablet? I've already entered the incorrect PIN 60 times, hoping it would pop up asking me to enter my Google account info but no luck. Is factory resetting the tablet really the only way to get in now??!

[HELP] Derped by new Z3 (or maybe it's SIM Locked)

I broke my Z3 and got a replacement a few days ago.

After I flashed pre-rooted 23.4.A.0.546, linked here, the he replacement shows the dreaded Invalid Card. Emergency calls only:

I never tested the device, I went directly for the root, ZX discovery and pre-rooted flash.

As quick explanation:
I got the device.
I never inserted a SIM, I immediately followed the instruction to root a Z3 with a locked BL:

- downgraded phone with D6603_23.0.A.2.93 ftf linked here.
- ran giofroot exploit. used v3.1. had to run it twice.
- mounted /system rw with ES Explorer.
- installed Z3 Dualrecovery for locked BL.
- then flashed 23.4.A.0.546 linked here.

Phone turned on without a hitch.
When I placed the SIM, I noticed the Invalid Card notice.

Tried (and failed) attempts:
Since then, I've rolled back to D6603_23.0.A.2.93.
Installed PC Companion (eeew) and done a system repair.
Downloaded the latest firmware from xperifirm for Telcel's branded ROM.

nothing. device still says Invalid Card.
