Network signal display

I'm in the UK but for some reason my signal says lte not 4g is this due to the shop that fixed my phone flashing American firmware onto my device or how do I get it to be like the UK style as it should be

xperia z1 no signal problem (HELP!!!!)

my xperia z1 suddenly have no signal.
i already tried my sim to other phone, it works perfecting and have a full bar of signal.
i also tried other sim network to my z1, but it also indicates no signal.
i tried to repair it using pc companion, but the problem is still the same.
i also tried hard/factory reset my z1, still same problem.
i can access the sim option and function, but still no signal.
i also try using simcard reader app, it can read my sim card and i can view my simcard information.
so i think my phone simcard reader is functional.

I need your help to solve my problem on my only phone. thank you:crying::crying::crying:

Moving signal and wi-fi icons to left?

Hi, I'm looking for module fot Samsung Galaxy S6 (Lollipop 5.1.1) which can change signal icon to iPhone style (dots) and move it left also with wi-fi signal icons.

Note Edge to Note 3 question about cell signal

So just went from a T-Mobile branded Galaxy Note Edge to a AT&T branded Galaxy Note 3 and first thing I noticed at my home was the signal isn't as great as it was on my Edge, getting 1 bar less and sometimes 2 bars less.

Did the Edge have a better hardware antenna? (I'm still using T-Mobile service on Note 3)

Plus side I guess would be this Note 3 is actually faster with less bugs like my Edge would reboot everytime after turning off Bluetooth.

At a loss over signal loss.

I have an annoying signal loss problem that has been on-going since 4.4, seemed to get a bit better with 5.0, but is bad again with 5.1. At random intervals the phone just loses all signal, as in no bars at all (just an empty triangle), and not even a provider showing. It does say "Emergency Calls Only" in the titlebar, not "No Service", suggesting it actually has signal. This is exactly what it does with no SIM inserted, but I have tried different SIMs to no avail. Eventually it does come back again by itself, but restarting the phone always fixes it straight away.

I can also trigger this behaviour by making a call. Sometimes it works, but sometimes as soon as the call connects, the signal does as described above (so naturally the call drops).

I have googled this for hours and found some problems that sounded similar, but no suggested fixes made a lasting fix on mine. One suggested fix was to clear cache and data for the "Phone" app, force stop, then restart. However, I noticed I have 3 apps labelled Phone. Is this normal? I did the clear/stop/restart on all of them, and that possibly helped for a while, but it started doing it again.

Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this?

T-Mobile WiFi Calling & LTE Signal Tips for Z3

For those of you having issues with WiFi calling try the following, it may or may not help you but probably worth trying:

1. Enable SIP ALG in your router

2. Switch to 5Ghz WiFi band especially if you live in an apartment or a Wifi congested area as 2.4Ghz band faces a lot of interference due to widespread usage as well as added interference from things like some Bluetooth devices and Microwaves. Only interference you may face on 5Ghz is possibly really old 5ghz cordless phones.

3. On the Z3 going to WiFi settings -> Advanced and select keep WiFi on during sleep (I keep it off but it may help)

4. Try disabling "Que Background Data" in Power Management (May alleviate SMS issues over WiFi)

5. Either disable Stamina mode or try adding your SMS/MMS app like Google Messenger to Whitelist.

For those of you who have the 4G Range Extender (NOT the Cell Spot router), it seems it actually sometimes interferes with the 5Ghz band oddly enough.

For those of you who live in a 700 MHz (Band 12) area you can force the phone to use only Band 12 when in an LTE area, for better signal and improved battery. Band 12 has lower bandwidth though like 7-10 Mbps but I get Full signal vs the other LTE Bands where its 1-3 bars but higher speeds.

Dial in phone *#*#386#*#* -> You will enter Tech Mode -> go to the LTE option and disable bands 2 and 4.

PACrom Beta 3 signal issues

I see others have signal issues with their Moto X Play on PAC. Does anyone actually know how to overcome this? When I first start the rom and start setting it up (when you sign in with google account etc) I have a signal... Then it drops out and stays out, even after a reboot. :confused:

Tried with wifi on and wifi off, wifi off rebooted etc..

i tried flash stock ics base band , to go back to stock rom ,other custom rom and now i am on cm 10 and evreything else works but no gsm signal . when i try to flash try flashtool get this .

Low Lte signal

Hi guys,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925F sim free
Build number LMY47X.G925FXXU2COH2
Baseband version G925FXXU2COH2
5.1.1 Lollipop

Previously my Oneplus One on Three network (UK) I would have full Lte signal but on my S6 Edge I only got 2 bars. Changing to WCDMA/GSM I get great signal and in speed test is actually faster than LTE.
I'm not rooted and I'm wondering if this is a software problem or hardware, and if flashing a different rom would help?
I don't mind tripping only if it will fix the problem.

T-Mobile LTE signal

I just got the phone on Monday. With the original ROM and after taking several OTA updates, my LTE signal strength at home and at work was horrible. I'd get around -120 dBm and it would frequently change to HSPA and even EVDO.

One thing that I noticed is that on LTE, it was using band 4, which is 2100 MHz. On my Note 2, it always used band 14, which is 700 MHz. The lower frequency penetrates buildings better and gave me a better signal at work and home (not great, but useable).

I just updated to the latest T-Mobile ROM from the developer site. The LTE signal strength is a bit better at -116 dBm and so far, it isn't changing to HSPA or worse. However, it is still using band 4.

Does anyone know why my old phone used band 14 and this new phone uses band 4? I would think that the phone would use whichever band gave it the best signal, which would certainly be band 14. Is there any way to force this?

Guys I've read a lot about not very good signal strength on regular s6. How does it look like on edge+ (in comparison to other phones)?

Only gsm signal

Hi, i have an M7 cdma (Sprint), but I live in Mexico, so i only have GSM signal, what can I do to get at least 3g signal? do I have to change the RUU to the developer edition? or is this a hardware issue?

No LTE signal, "No APN settings on this device" on Boost / Cyanogenmod

Recently rooted and currently running cm-12.1-20150913-Nightly-kltespr on a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone that is on Boost. Ever since flashing Cyanogenmod I DO NOT have any LTE signal. If I change "Preferred Network Type" to LTE (recommended) I do not get any data/internet signal at all. Everything works fine EXCEPT LTE and Multimedia messages. Plain MMS works fine but when there is multimedia attached the message "No APN settings on this device" stays on my screen and will not go away unless I delete the message with the multimedia in it and reboot the device. Also although I am on Boost, the rom shows me as Sprint on the top left of my screen.

I have been researching for the past few days and see this is a common problem, at first I thought I had the wrong baseband version and flashed G900PVPU1BOA6 thinking that would fix it because that was the baseband I had prior to flashing Cyanogenmod, after flashing Cyanogenmod I had baseband version G900PVPU30BG1. That was not the issue as everything seems to work the same as it did with the previous baseband version.

I did the remove sim car, restore to default APN settings and that didnt work.

I also downloaded Root Tweaker from the Play store and updated Cyanogenmod APN settings and that didnt work either.

I tried to flash back to stock so that I can update my PRL, get LTE and try the terminal emulator method BUT I am unable to flash back to a stock rom. I dont understand why. Maybe the downloads I am trying are no good, not sure. BUT I know there has got to be an easier way, so if anybody can help me out I would really appreciate it. I'm pretty sure its all with the APN settings. I also feel like I maybe took a step back by flashing my old baseband version. Any help from somebody that can point me in the right direction would be appreciated. Surely somebody has the S5 running on Cyanogenmod with LTE working.

Compared to other phones you have had? Im tired of samsung and their crappy radios that cant hold a good 4g connection. On verizon btw

Signal issues

For you guys that have this phone now are you having any signal issues? Like the phone randomly dropping signal for a little bit then it comes back?

I have a nexus 6 and it is going from 2 bars -100dbm to no bars -120dbm and its killing the battery, i have at least 10-18% time with no signal in my battery stats when i never had this issue on my galaxy S5. I'm looking to replace the nexus but I don't want a phone that will do the same thing and I'm hoping the moto x will perform like my S5 did

Signal Strength Issue

So I got my Verizon Note 5 and have noticed two things over the last 3 days. Exceptionally fast battery draining and slower data speeds. I turned on my LG G3 that still has a verizon sim in it and noticed it had full bars while my Note had 2. Checked signal strength and it was -78dBm on the G3 and -102dBM on the Note5. I'm assuming it is pretty obvious that I have a lemon... Can anyone confirm my feelings based on these findings?

Signal issues

I constantly see my phone go from 2 bars to no bars and back to 2 bars inside my house. I had a S5 and the signal was always between -99 to -112 with 2 bars and great battery life. On the nexus the signal will be around the same then out of no where go to -118 to -122 with no bars.

I look into the battery stats and I'm getting a good chunk of time without signal, like 16%.

I really like this phone and want to keep it but if I can't get good signal in the house like I did with my S5 on the same carrier (page plus) I'm gonna have to take it back and get the moto x pure.

Phone is stock, running 5.1.1, build # is LMY48I, baseband is MDM9625_104446.01.02.101RR

Any help would be appreciated, I'm getting way less battery life then I got on my S5

no cell signal - N5

I had a broke screen, I replaced it but now my nexus 5 has no cell signal. It knows there is a sim card in there but says no network is available. My sim works in other phones and other sims do the same in the nexus 5. I took the cover off the sim card slot and the pins look straight and no damage. I bought new antenna cables in hopes that was all it was but same result. I also did a fresh image flash but that didnt help. Wifi, BT and GPS all work.

Any other options?

After flashing 44S modem , i get no signal

i am on different Lollipop ROMs, and after succesfully flashing the 44S modem , despite the sensor problems. I have no signal afterwards ...
If i then flash the COS12 modem i get it right back :/
I have tried wiping dalvick / cache, tried rebooting , restoring default APN.,.... nothing works, please help

Replaced the battery, cell signal got much worse...

Hey fellow Nexus 5 users,
So I ordered my nexus 5 nearly two years ago now, and I wanted to replace the battery to regain that first day battery life,
and since the performance is still top notch maybe keep the phone another year.
Anyway I replaced it, and now the cell signal is worse, I get Edge where I used to get H+ or LTE, sometimes the LTE signal is displayed in the status bar, but no data is getting through. but I can't explain it... and the weird thing is at home I get full working 4G. it really depends on the location.
I think I replaced it correctly, without damaging any internals, the only thing I noticed that I broke is (I don't know what it's called) a little thing that's on the back of the phone, that keep the back well attached to the phone. (see picture)

and I broke one that's on the top, where there are little pins that make contact with the phone. But even with one that's broken, the back is still very well attached to the phone.
My question is, are the contacts on the back used at all to improve cell reception ? What else could cause this issue :rolleyes:
by the way, wifi is working fine, phone calls as wells...
