using Verizon Note 5 on T-Mobile?

Is this possible?

I just picked up a Verizon Note 5, put my T-Mobile sim in (like I have for tons of verizon devices in the past) and expected it to work, but it does not.

I get no bars with a little X on top. No service. No text/calls/data. I have tried multiple APNs. I've tried global mode, lte cdma mode, lte gsm umts mode. I experienced an issue similar to this on the Verizon Note 4 once it updated to lollipop. However for that Note 4, I put a verizon sim in and that of course worked, so then I took the verizon sim out and put my T-Mobile sim in and it finally worked, as if the verizon sim had to "activate" the phone.

I tried those same steps on this Verizon Note 5 (Verizon sim first - checked internet and it was working with the verizon sim - put in T-Mobile sim - no dice)

I thought all LTE Verizon devices were unlocked? Is anybody here actually using a Verizon Note 5 on T-Mobile or AT&T??

Trouble rooting Note 4 T-Mobile

I am having a hard time rooting my t-mobile note 4. Running 5.0.1. When I get to the point where I am supposed to press and hold power, home, and volume up to boot into TWRP, my screen goes to the android robot saying "installing updates" and then to "no command." The phone then goes into stock recovery where I can wipe the partition or reboot and what not. I am stuck. I have rooted phones in the past and never ran into this. I have no idea where to move to from here.

Made The Switch From Verizon to T-mobile...

I just switched from the Note 4 on Verizon to the Note 5 on T-mobile; New phone expected to arrive tomorrow.

One thing I saw mentioned here and there about the T-mobile Service is this "Advanced Messaging Service." There is limited information I could find, no real Videos demoing or discussing the feature, but a couple blog post here and there making mention of it.

Has anyone used this feature on the Note 5; If so, how does it function, does it function well, is there any lag between sending and receiving messages, does the Live Presence indication actually work ("Bob is typing" etc.) Any kind of information or feedback on this "Feature" would be appreciated.

Also what is your experience with the WiFi calling? Does it truly sound like HD Voice quality? Any issue switching for WiFi calling to 4G (walking out of the home does the call drop when switching to 4G coverage?)

Failed back to stock rom HTC ONE S T-MOBILE

Is there any one can help i have failed back to my previous rom HTC ONE S T-mobile due to yhe fact that i haven't been able to get a
matching RUU currently am using (ville_PAC_JB_4.2.2) rom which has full of problems !!:confused and i don't know why and when i try to s-off my phone so as i can flash othe RUU's here are to different errors which are different from the correct instructions 1st.instead of Error ( “FAILED (remote: 92 supercid! please flush image again immediately)” which is required to be there another error comes which is (FAILED (remote: 32 header error) 2nd.error is this one (failed to copy 'soffbin3' to '/data/local/tmp/': No such file or directory) here is my phones details

T-Mobile WiFi Calling & LTE Signal Tips for Z3

For those of you having issues with WiFi calling try the following, it may or may not help you but probably worth trying:

1. Enable SIP ALG in your router

2. Switch to 5Ghz WiFi band especially if you live in an apartment or a Wifi congested area as 2.4Ghz band faces a lot of interference due to widespread usage as well as added interference from things like some Bluetooth devices and Microwaves. Only interference you may face on 5Ghz is possibly really old 5ghz cordless phones.

3. On the Z3 going to WiFi settings -> Advanced and select keep WiFi on during sleep (I keep it off but it may help)

4. Try disabling "Que Background Data" in Power Management (May alleviate SMS issues over WiFi)

5. Either disable Stamina mode or try adding your SMS/MMS app like Google Messenger to Whitelist.

For those of you who have the 4G Range Extender (NOT the Cell Spot router), it seems it actually sometimes interferes with the 5Ghz band oddly enough.

For those of you who live in a 700 MHz (Band 12) area you can force the phone to use only Band 12 when in an LTE area, for better signal and improved battery. Band 12 has lower bandwidth though like 7-10 Mbps but I get Full signal vs the other LTE Bands where its 1-3 bars but higher speeds.

Dial in phone *#*#386#*#* -> You will enter Tech Mode -> go to the LTE option and disable bands 2 and 4.

Want to test if the 'unlocked' ATT phone is 'unlocked' where can I get a TMobile SIM

I assume activated. Just a test sim to see if a foreign carrier works with this

Stuck at T-Mobile boot screen after attempting to remove Xposed

I tried removing Xposed using the methods in that thread while in TWRP and my phone won't progress pass the Tmobile splash screen. I have since tried clearing cache/dalvik and using the Xposed Uninstaller zip.

HELP... Looking for a T-Mobile LG G2 D801 NANDROID Image in order to unbrick my unit

If anyone could provide me with the above it would be greatly appreciated. I installed BootChanger (navax) and it has placed the phone into the dreaded USB Hub (mode 9025) and based on what I have read, I should be able to just write this image to the LG G2's drive that is exposed to Windows 8.1 using Win32DiskImager or similar utility. I use OSX on my desktop but run a Windows 8.1 VM when needed. Basically, it goes into this mode rather than download mode. So, this is basically a case of No Download Mode, No FastBoot, No TWRP, etc.

Call issues verizon note 4 on Tmobile

I'm currently using Verizon Note 4 on T-mobile network. It seemed perfect in the beginning, but an issue with automated call.

the touchpad not working when connected to the automated system ?
(when the phone is connected to the automated system, we are often required put a number to select an option. But, even if I touch a number, it never gets through.)
Any ideas.

I've found a way to get unlimited T-Mobile Hotspot

I was throttled last month after I went over my 7 GB. I also got the 1 GB warning text from T-Mobile others have posted in this thread. As a MSCE and Cisco network engineer, I wasn't going to tolerate being throttled and monitored. Over the last few weeks, I've been using my networking skills to monitor how T-Mobile monitors packets to figure out how data is going to the mobile or if it's being sent over a hotspot. More importantly, I've been working to bypass their monitoring. I'm happy to announce that I've figured out a way around it.

In initial testing, I've been able to use as much data as I want on both a PC and Android tablet without it increasing Hotspot data (T-Mobile thinks the data is still going to the phone and its data increases instead). There are two requirements:

1) You have to be on a T-Mobile Unlimited data package with either 5 GB or 7 GB of hotspot available.
2) You can not currently be over your hotspot limit and throttled
3) You have to use a VPN on the device you're sending data two. I've tested it with two paid VPN services so far (I'm behind both as I post this from a PC).

Things to do:
a) Test with a a free VPN service (doing this later today)
b) Test with crApple products (need to find a friend with a Mac, iPhone, and/or an iPad...over the years I've convinced everyone I know to switch to Android)
c) Make installers for easy use

I expect release this weekend or early next week. I know everyone wants proof, but I can't post images yet (under 10 post count).

PS: Because I've already had a few PM's asking if I needed help testing. No, thank you. I know it works. I'm currently at over 17 GB of hotspot usage without any throttling or warning texts from T-Mobile even though I got them last month and I know my account is being heavily monitored.

Also, when I said I'll be releasing it soon, it'll be a paid product. I haven't decided on a price yet, but since apps like Foxfi Key and WiFi Tether Router no longer work, it'll be more expensive than them.

T-Mobile LTE signal

I just got the phone on Monday. With the original ROM and after taking several OTA updates, my LTE signal strength at home and at work was horrible. I'd get around -120 dBm and it would frequently change to HSPA and even EVDO.

One thing that I noticed is that on LTE, it was using band 4, which is 2100 MHz. On my Note 2, it always used band 14, which is 700 MHz. The lower frequency penetrates buildings better and gave me a better signal at work and home (not great, but useable).

I just updated to the latest T-Mobile ROM from the developer site. The LTE signal strength is a bit better at -116 dBm and so far, it isn't changing to HSPA or worse. However, it is still using band 4.

Does anyone know why my old phone used band 14 and this new phone uses band 4? I would think that the phone would use whichever band gave it the best signal, which would certainly be band 14. Is there any way to force this?

The phone is a pre order from Japan. My question is will this work here in the US with T-mobile 4g lte? Or should we wait for the US release?
Also, if we order this (from USA) will Sony give us warranty given it was ordered from Ebay and from Japan?

tmobile hotspot

hello everyone, I have a rooted s4 on t mobile, i am using cyanogenmod 12.1 , my question is. up to now I was able to use my hot spot to watch Netflix on my Roku stick
without being slow down, today i noticed my Netflix would not work, I call t mobile and they told me it was because I had use all my allowed data, I never had the problem before, how can they tell I was using the phone as a hot spot, I though if you were rooted they could not tell if you were tethering, any answer will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

[OTA] T-Mobile StageFright

For those with who haven't gotten the OTA yet or those who just want the zip for whatever reason.

As long as you are 100% stock on 4.20.531.4 just download the OTA and put it on the root of your phone storage reboot into recovery and select apply from phone storage and go to the OTA.

I updated mine with my phone being s-off and unlocked, but the system partition was 100% stock as well as stock recovery.
