Auto Tether or widget to toggle hotspot

Hi,

Is there an app that will auto start tether when it detects a bluetooth connection? I have used a few in the past with previous phones and they would work with KK, but now on Note 5 lollipop they dont seem to work anymore. I've tried trigger, but sometimes it would not work. I've tried "In-Dash Tether" "AutoTether for Automatica" I've tried Tasker, I've tried all that i can find, nothing seems to work.

I'm at a point that I want to make a script that would run when trigger using in conjunction with trigger or tasker.

I need this because I want to use in my car so whenever i enter my car it would auto turn on.

Any sggestions will be appreciated.

best way to get rid of bloatware and unlock mobile hotspot in Galaxy S4 SCH-I545

I recently bought a Verizon S4 in the US and am using it back at home in latin america. I want to get rid of the verizon pre installed apps, the verizon bootscreen and be able to unlock the mobile hotspot option.

Right now I have the 5.0.1 Android version with the I545VRUGOF1 Build.

What would be the best way to go? flash it with other rom? in that case witch one would you recommend? I like lollipop if possible I would like to keep it but my main goal is to delete the bloatware and enable the mobile hotspot.

I've found a way to get unlimited T-Mobile Hotspot

I was throttled last month after I went over my 7 GB. I also got the 1 GB warning text from T-Mobile others have posted in this thread. As a MSCE and Cisco network engineer, I wasn't going to tolerate being throttled and monitored. Over the last few weeks, I've been using my networking skills to monitor how T-Mobile monitors packets to figure out how data is going to the mobile or if it's being sent over a hotspot. More importantly, I've been working to bypass their monitoring. I'm happy to announce that I've figured out a way around it.

In initial testing, I've been able to use as much data as I want on both a PC and Android tablet without it increasing Hotspot data (T-Mobile thinks the data is still going to the phone and its data increases instead). There are two requirements:

1) You have to be on a T-Mobile Unlimited data package with either 5 GB or 7 GB of hotspot available.
2) You can not currently be over your hotspot limit and throttled
3) You have to use a VPN on the device you're sending data two. I've tested it with two paid VPN services so far (I'm behind both as I post this from a PC).

Things to do:
a) Test with a a free VPN service (doing this later today)
b) Test with crApple products (need to find a friend with a Mac, iPhone, and/or an iPad...over the years I've convinced everyone I know to switch to Android)
c) Make installers for easy use

I expect release this weekend or early next week. I know everyone wants proof, but I can't post images yet (under 10 post count).

PS: Because I've already had a few PM's asking if I needed help testing. No, thank you. I know it works. I'm currently at over 17 GB of hotspot usage without any throttling or warning texts from T-Mobile even though I got them last month and I know my account is being heavily monitored.

Also, when I said I'll be releasing it soon, it'll be a paid product. I haven't decided on a price yet, but since apps like Foxfi Key and WiFi Tether Router no longer work, it'll be more expensive than them.

[Guide] Disable Hotspot warning popup (5.0.2)

What does this mod do?
This mod disables the popup that warns about disabling wifi when you enable the Hotspot feature from the Notification panel quicksetting toggle. The popup normally only occurs when wifi is enabled, so this will prevent that popup.
This does not disable the warning if you enable hotspot from the Settings menu.


What app needs modifying?
SecSettings2.apk - must be deodexed app because we will be editing smali code.


The mod:

1. Decompile your deodexed SecSettings2.apk


2. Open smali\com\android\settings\wifi\mobileap\WifiApWar ning.smali with a text editor

5. Save and recompile.

How does this mod work?
When the hotspot is enabled, a check is performed to see if wifi is enabled, and if it is, a popup message is displayed to warn the user that wifi will be disabled while the hotspot is enabled.
By inserting the "goto :cond_5", the comparision checks of "wifiState" are skipped, so the warning does not get created.


Tips:
If you have trouble recompiling the resources after making the mod:

• The classes.dex normally get compiled before the resources


• Simply find the newly compiled classes.dex in the output folder and copy it back into the old deodexed app (7zip).

tmobile hotspot

hello everyone, I have a rooted s4 on t mobile, i am using cyanogenmod 12.1 , my question is. up to now I was able to use my hot spot to watch Netflix on my Roku stick
without being slow down, today i noticed my Netflix would not work, I call t mobile and they told me it was because I had use all my allowed data, I never had the problem before, how can they tell I was using the phone as a hot spot, I though if you were rooted they could not tell if you were tethering, any answer will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Hotspot [Q]

Hey sorry for a noon question but I never been on T-Mobile and I've never used hotspot as much as I'm bout to use it this school year. I have the 5GB data plan on T-Mobile using the hotspot on CM 12.1 I know its free hotspot because of the root automatically but I was wondering does it use up the 5GB in my plan? Sorry if the answer is very simple I need to know to prevent extra charges

Slow Wifi connection - Hotspot speed OK

Since i have Mi4i, i have wifi problems.

This is wifi speed in speedtest.
Signal is excellent as you can see, and i have ridiculous download and upload speeds...

If i'm using Mi4i as Hotspot, wifi works great, with no problems, everything working as normal, having >10mbps speeds (download and upload).

I have to update apps via Pcsuite, and this is stupid and ridiculous now a days. I can't open a webpage in chrome...

i've reported this error, but i think this is a driver/kernel problem...

How to enable native Hotspot on any version of TW lollipop including stock.

Just a quick how to on unlocking the Hotspot on any lollipop version of tw. Root is Not needed

First you must get your msl
There are numerous ways to get it the best way is call sprint tech support and tell them "band 41 is disabled and you need to enable it. Your friends s5 gets it and he has sprint spark. Mines disabled"
They will send you to advanced tech support who will give you the msl and walk you through enabling band 41. {just go along with him and say goodbye you got the msl now}

Next type in ##data#
Click edit
Type in msl
Go to apn
Select the first apn EHRPD and go to type
Change it from (default, mms) to (default, mms, dun) no spaces
Click the menu up top right and hit save
{hitting save is mandatory}
Next got to the lte apn
Goto type
And make the same changes also remember HIT SAVE
Now reboot and turn on your Hotspot
Tadaaaa a.

Note Hotspot will not work on airrave. At least this method. But it works flawlessly otherwise. Hopes this helps

Motorola XT926 Droid RaZR HD hotspot and USB tethering not working

A message pops us whenever I try to use Hot spot and USB.
I am using refurbished version of this phone in Pakistan so this gives error that
"Your Phone cannot currently connect to Verizon's Server",Internet Connection is not available or weak,Ethernet Connection is using a proxy or Verizon server is not responding.
In Pakistan there is no Verizon so how can I solve this problem?

Trying to get the hotspot working to use my samsung tab 4 tablet on. Rooted and have tried installing the tethering provision .apk for the s4 but no luck. Android 4.4.2 here. Trying to just change a couple lines in files and not download a program I'm not familar with. As usual when I click tethering eventually a note to contact att at 611 pops up. Thanks for any help.

Mobile Hotspot not working (AT&T Note 5)

Can anyone confirm for me that their AT&T Note 5 mobile hotspot option is working. I can't seem to get mine to work and I'm starting to believe that the phone is defective. I set a new password, have it set for 2.4 ghz, WPA2 PSK. I have tried to connect several devices and have been unable to do so.

Hotspot streaming ?

I am rooted, and with Sprint. I am running moar 6.2 everything has been great until recently. I can browse hotspot no problem, but when I start netflix or amazon it will run for 20 minutes or so then throttle down to nothing. I thought Sprint didn't and couldn't throttle anymore? anyway this is all new, never had this issue before until now. I tried reloading moar to no avail. I am a roadwarrior and watch allot of movies on the road and this is really pissing me off. don't know what to do. Anyone else having this issue? Not sur eif it's Sprint, my phone or my computer, but something is screwing up.

ok i have a sprint htc one and i am trying to use usb tethering or the hotspot but it keeps telling me i have not subscribed to that service. i have a stock rooted rom. can anyone help me get this working??? im on software version 5.05.651.2 and its kit kat with sense 6.0 (I think its a dev edition from virgin mobile)??

Unlocked AT&T G4 on T-Mo how to enable hotspot

The title says it all. I have an Unlocked AT&T G4 on T-Mo. Everything works well except Hosspot. When I try to enable it regardless of apps tried it gets stuck on Authenticating then fails. May be there is something left in the FW from AT&T that is preventing the phone. Any help will be much appreciated. My phone is rooted.

Few questions regarding hotspot and supersu

Instead of making separate threads regarding these few questions I decided to combine them all in one. My first issue is supersu upgrading su binaries. I have tried multiple suggestions and fail everytime when updating su binaries in supersu 2.49. Also, when hotspot is on (wifi), i constantly get a prompt turning wifi on will turn mobile hotspot off. It is very annoying. Does anyone know how to fix these issues, I'm on Sprint. Native Hotspot on Stock [Rooted & Non+Rooted]

I posted this in the other general section of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and figured I would post it here too since it is for Sprint Note 5's.

I found this in Sprint Note 4 section by @llawen, who found it in the Note 3 section and I can confirm it still works on Sprint Note 5!!
All credit goes to @idone. Not my work. Just sharing here.
You MUST BE ROOTED for this method.
Download sqlite editor from playstore (Speed Software version, which is a paid app....BUT if you know your way around that, then you're good ).
Open sqlite editor,
select files.
Then
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db/
Select carriers.
The last 2 lines (APN2LTE internet) and (APN2 EHRPD internet) you will see (default,mms), add ,dun.
It will look like this
default,mms,dun
Make changes in both lines and save, reboot, and enjoy.

FOR NON ROOTED PHONES:

First step is to get your MSL number either by calling Sprint Customer Service, or trying this method here on AndroidForums:

After getting your MSL number follow these steps (originally posted by @MasterTentacles in the Sprint Note 4 Section):
Go to Dialer and enter ##DATA# (##3282#)

Press "Edit" then enter your MSL.

Click on APN Settings

For both "APN2 EHRPD internet" and "APN2 LTE internet" change APN Type from "default,mms" to "default,mms,dun"
After you enter the change, hit Menu -> Save before going to the next APN.

AND THAT'S IT!!! YOU NOW HAVE HOTSPOT!!!
But be aware, if you update PRL, you will have to redo these steps....

THIS IS ONLY A GOOD WORKAROUND UNTIL A FULL NATIVE HOTSPOT IS MADE.

Is there a way to unlock mobile hotspot for the AT&T m7, rooted and on lollipop? I'm on straight talk so calling AT&T isn't an option. I've tried various tethering apps but they still bring up the call 611 message. thank you.
