Broken Volume Button & Bootloop

So unfortunately I got into a bootloop with my volume buttons not working.
I understand ADB is not an option in an situation like this, unless there is a trick I haven't heard of (like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2261267).
Is there any chance one of you got something to share? I got a date tonight and it would be a lot easier with a functioning phone...
