Nexus 5 LCD broken?

Hi

So I broke my screen on my nexus 5 some time ago and last week I decided to change it myself. After a few days of use with the new screen, I take it out of my bag and it looks like this:

After some time with the screen on it starts flickering, but still with those big vertical lines. Behind the lines I can the lock screen, but the touch is not responding. I tried opening the phone up and disconnecting the screen cable and connected it again to see if it was just a loose connection or something, but it still looks like the picture above whenever I turn it on.
Is the LCD broken or the graphics processor or??? What should I do next? :)

MIUI 6 Developer Global - Google Services Broken

Used the update.zip flash tool in recovery mode to load MIUI 7 (5.9.18 Global) from
http://obigota.d.miui.com/5.9.18/miu...5312c7_5.0.zip

Now google services won't work. I am at a loss to work out what to do. I have cleared the cache for all google apps and also cleared cache in recovery mode.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hard reset with a broken LCD screen?

Is there any way to do a hard reset with a broken LCD screen?

I accidentally dropped my phone on it's side and the LCD cracked in three places. It is completely black now. I got the device replaced via warranty and I have to ship this one back, but I want to do a hard reset to erase all my information. Are there any procedures involving a PC that would allow me to do a factory reset?

Any input would be greatly appreciated..

Xperia z3 screen broken and I need help

Hi,everyone,yesterday my Xperia z3 has broken for the upper area,then the touch screen for upper area can't function well but the bottom area(which has not broken) is functioning well,so do I need to change a new screen or new screen with lcd?if can provide me the link also for buying that and is better at eBay,thanks for help:)

ADB with broken screen

I'm looking for help with my I9300. I have broken screen and I would like to turn ADB Debug on. I want to get my contacts back. There are in phone memory, not SIM nor Google account.
The phone probably works. It's vibrating, making sound and capacity buttons are lighted up.

Charging led "broken" while phone phone is turned off

I have report on Jira the following issue.

The led in our OnePlus One doesn't lit when the phone is turned off and we try to charge it, it will affest most if not 100% OnePlus One user, the bug is reported by me using their official rom but happens almost in every rom I've tested(radio issue if you ask me).

The assigned person on this actually told me to stay quite about this and I'm like why??? and to be exact and not saying lies he said: " I'm not going to advertise the issue (and I would rather you not either)". They want to hide this for some reason.

Some might say but why charge it while it's turned off? well if you are in a hurry every juice is needed, also why not have a "proper" phone? even Chinese no-name brands have this, it's basic function.

Please spread this and make an upvote so this would be solved asap(sure it's not life threating issue but surely I'd like to have it because why not?)

Broken screen - Can't recover data

First of all, yes I've browsed and tried the different solutions in the forum but none of them worked for me.

My Nexus 4 fell from my car (a long story) and the screen is completely destroyed, and yes I mean DESTROYED. The phone works cause the screen lights up and some colours still work, but I can't see anything, and the touchscreen of course does not work.

Problem is: I had a lock pattern so I can't access the data in my computer. I've tried Droidbrowser and the unified Android Toolkit, the last one always gets stuck on "waiting for adb mode" or something like that. I'm pretty sure I had USB debugging activated and all that, but except that, phone is factory, no root, no ROM, no unlocked bootloader.

I've been struggling with this for a while now, would appreciate some help!

Please help noob user: Unrooted kindle fire hd 7 bootloop with broken power button

I have been having problems opening my device for months now because the power button isn't working anymore for me. So when I open my Kindle I just usually plug the charger. Then one day, I don't know what happened, when I opened my device it was so slow and the launcher (original) is always not responding. So when I finally manage to go to Settings > Device > Restore Factory settings... my account was deregistered and I waited for it to reboot. When it did, it was the same. I didn't think that the Reset settings I did, worked. My power button is broken, right? So what I did next, I opened the back case of the device and tried to push the power button with a pin, then all of a sudden it restarted and ended up being stuck with the Kindle Fire logo. Anyone could help me with this problem? I'm still hoping that it could still be fixed. Please reply, any help would be much appreciated. (My KFHD is the first gen btw)

Sim reader broken :eek:

Hello,

I have a problem with "LG G Pro Lite" sim reader. I doesn't read sim, as not inserted.
I have found that there are two contact pins of the reader that are bent, and one of them is broken, so I decided desoldering the reader to put a new one (I have not yet received), but when I unsoldered the reader, one pin is broken in motherboard.

Tomorrow I will upload photo of motherboard. For now I leave a picture of the affected pin, but I need but I need someone to check with a tester if the pin has continuity with some other point of the plate, to repair it.

Broken screen anyway to unlock the phone?

So basically The screen is broken I can see but touch doesn't work and I did set a pattern now since I can't unlock the phone and there is important data on it and I don't want the erase it is there anyway to unlock it without wiping the data ?
WIFI is off so android device manager won't work
ADB is off so it's pointless I think
Not rooted

Help! Nexus 7 2013 repair failure! Broken motherboard

So last night i dropped my tablet and the screen had cracks all over it, well i watched a bunch of tear down, and screen repair videos on youtube, then tried to take it apart to fix it myself. But when i tried to remove the silver motherboard ribbon cable, the white connector broke off of the motherboard. :crying: :crying:

Note that warranty expired several months ago.

What should i do? is replacement motherboard and screen assembly worth it?

Broken glass! How to replace it?

I cracked the glass on my Moto X 2014... I don't want to replace the whole screen, it's expensive. Can I buy a fitting glass and replace just that? If so, where do I buy it, and are there any instructions (either written or video)?

Touch is not working except bottom left and bottom right dot of Pattern Lockscreen.
So, all I want is memos/notes which are stored on my broken device.
That memo app is stock one not the Google Keep, so I obviously can manage my notes only on device.

Broken Screen Samsung S6 - Access files

My personal S6 Samsung broke the screen, that is, all black I can not do anything!
And you need a password to unlock.
What I wanted was to have some way for me to unlock it, I've tried with Smart Switch and Kies, and in them I can not put the password on the PC to unlock the phone, and my USB is not in debugging.
And now guys? already researched in all over the place and found the solution.

The goal is to access the files on it, I do not care about the device.

Broken screen & digitizer, help with adb?

So I have an encrypted Nexus 5 loaded with TWRP custom recovery. Unfortunately, the screen and digitizer are broken. I see there is a tool to control my phone from my computer, but it requires usb debugging enabled. I also see I can enable usb debugging from adb, and I can see just barely enough to get into recovery mode from the bootloader. However, I am unable to see or enter the pin for the screen pattern from TWRP (because of the encryption). I do have access with fastboot at the bootloader. Am I out of luck or is there any way to proceed at this stage?

Possible broken Power IC? Bricked phone? Assistance needed.

Hi everyone, I am looking to troubleshoot my T-Mobile Galaxy S4 which I believe has suffered from a Power IC malfunction. It has all the symptoms that relate to a broken power button, which of I already sent in for repair and that didn't seem to fix the problem. The guy installed a brand new power button and the problem still persists. Continued researching and it might be a broken Power IC chip.

The phone will power on for a second and display the Samsung logo, then shut off and reboot itself and sometimes be in a constant vibration cycle like it's trying to power on. Sometimes it just freezes on the Samsung logo and will not continue past that. Sometimes if I'm lucky, it will boot up like normal but once it gets to the T-Mobile splash screen, the screen will distort and then reboot itself where it will just go through either of the symptoms already mentioned. Weird thing is, I am still able to boot into recovery and download mode fine without any reboots or anything. I have tried flashing numerous stock firmwares/ROMs via download mode/recovery in hope maybe that'll correct something, but to no avail.

The problem happened shortly after I accidentally dropped my phone getting out of the car. The phone worked fine for a day and then one day while driving, the phone did something crazy and froze up, displayed the power menu, and then shut off by itself. Then after that is when all the problems happened. I took the phone apart and cleaned the power button. Rubbed the contacts with rubbing alcohol and even tried to get inside the power button with some. Took a can of air and sprayed the button until it was dry. I think that was my mistake because I think some alcohol got onto, or into the power IC located near the power button and fried something.

Looking for possible answers as to what could have caused this. The phone will not charge normally unless I boot into recovery/download mode. Plugging the phone in while powered off displays the charging icon with the grey battery and a circle in the middle but doesn't continue past that and reboots itself after a while. Tried a different battery as well and it's all the same symptoms which is why it's something internally.

On a side note, if anybody has experience with replacing the Power IC and would like to offer their service to me, we can arrange a price and continue from there. Please be a reputable member though. Thanks for reading. Hope to resolve this annoying issue.

Recovery mode with boot loop and broken home button. How?

Hi guys,

I've flashed Nameless ROM and found, that my home button is not working any more. OK, thinking, that it's buggy Nameless i've flashed BLISSROM. Wow, same effect. Ok, seems, i've played to much with AGNI (or something else) kernel. ODIN'ed stock firmware. Now it's boot looped and i can't get to download mode, as seems, that home button still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

[Q] Android Auto Unavailable / Broken on AOSP

I am having an issue with Android Auto with AOSP based builds, and only the Asus ROMs seem to work properly for android auto!

I have tried Paranoid, the base AOSP, and Resurrection Remix LP. I know there are a couple others, but after 3 different ones have had the same issue, I am not expecting a different result.

I tried them with my backups and as clean installs without any restores (not even the google restore) with the same result. Each rom I did the factory wipe in TWRP.

Anyone else having this issue? Or am I one of the very few using an Asus Zenfone 2 and Android Auto??

SIP connection broken on pick-up

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Duos (GT-I9192, serranodsxx) on which I have installed an unofficial CM 12.1 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...os-gt-t2950526). I have configured a SIP account (using the built-in functionality). The configuration is successful in the sense that my phone registers on the server and in that I can call and be called through the SIP connection (phone rings). However, whenever the call is answered (on the called phone, i.e., the one I've called, or my own when receiving), the connection is immediately broken.

I t would be helpful for me to get some advice about correctly filtering logs (I have CatLog installed), tips for using additional apps to try if it is an issue of the phone software or the server, and learning about other (freely available) SIP accounts that I can use for testing purposes.

I have a feeling this is, at least initially, a general (native Android SIP stack) question rather than a model-specific one.
