Mirror Needed For SP Flash Tool

Hey,

Following around the official root tutorial from Elephone's forums (here), the post recommends using SP Flash Tool. Unfortunately, the accompanying link is no longer available for download.

Can a member here please mirror the tool to something like androidfilehost? I don't really wish to download the tool from outside XDA.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can see nowhere the changes tool on Android Studio. The tutorial says: "Click the Changes tool button located along the bottom margin to toggle open the Changes tool window and expand the leaf labeled Unversioned Files". But there is not changes tool button located along the bottom margin. Also, I cannot find it in View --> Tool Windows. So, what I have to do now?

This is simple EFS backup tool. We are very well knowing about what EFS is and why it is MUST to backup on every rooted device. If you don't know then Read this.

You needs root access to use this tool otherwise app won't open..

Location of stored file :

Device storage/MyEFS
If you unable to see backup, contact me with details of your device variant

Download :

Play store

XDA version (free)- Attached at end of this post.

Difference between Free/Play store

-Both version makes backup in same format and no difference in backup.

Also it makes copy of build.prop so you can get idea you were on which ROM when backup created)

Stock Firmware backup tool - for clean phone (prior to root & custom recovery)

Purpose: create an image of a new phone's clean stock firmware

Problem: Nandroid can only be preformed /retrieved after a custom recovery is installed which defeats the purpose because OTAs will (soft)brick a phone with custom recovery.

Details: I would like to be able to revert to stock using my own saved stock image whenever I want to do an OTA. Is there a way to do a nandroid-like backup on a clean phone?

I found an article that suggests using Android SDK for creating a full backup of a non rooted phone. But I'm not sure if it actually creates a flashable image that includes everything and that I can fastboot onto a rooted phone with a custom recovery – to bring it back to its original, out of the box, state. The article was on Techreublic and it's titled "how-to-create-a-full-backup-of-your-android-device-without-root" (I'm not allowed to post links here so please google it if you want to read it) .

* I did put the effort to research this subject prior to posting and couldn't find definite answers. I apologize if this was covered before.

Thank you!

[TOOL] Install Xposed on 5.0.X

What is it?

A simple tool for installing Xposed on rooted N1s running 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 - any build ID will work. Tested on Win 7 and 8.1.

This package will install Xposed 3.0-alpha2. You can replace the apk inside the folder with your own version, but alpha2 works great for me.

This is not my work, the source is in Russian here: h__ps://vk.com/page-80817152_50267799

Sorry about the links, not allowed to post them or attach files yet.

Download

h__ps://vk.com/away.php?to=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.box.com%2Fs%2Frivif2 p7qqa6ak9gv07sq600b917depn

Instructions

1 - Download and unzip the folder somewhere

2 - Plug in N1 and check you have the correct drivers (get Intel's drivers here: h__ps://software.intel.com/en-us/android/articles/intel-usb-driver-for-android-devices). If youre unable to connect to the device, disable MTP in the storage section of the settings.

3 - In the root of the unzipped folder run InstallXposedInstaller.bat - grant the shell root and press any key to close once its done

3 - In the same forlder, run InstallXposedFramework.bat and wait for it to reboot

Thats it, you now have working Xposed on your tablet. Most AOSP-compatible modules will work. Tested GravityBox only as its the one i need.

Tool for creating pure android ROM. An idea for Google Android guys.

Original Post : linkedin.com/pulse/google-android-guys-here-idea-you-prashantha-mundkod

Today, I have some business ideas for Google Android guys..:)

Idea
A tool (a desktop tool and/or android app tool ) for creating ROM and installing stock android.

This tool basically does 3 major tasks.

1. Reads hardware information of an Android device through the desktop/android tool and creates a stock android ROM for that device.

2. Creates a super user , roots the device , installs the ROM created in step 1.

3. Provides an option to keep/remove the super user after the installation based on user sophistication.

(Alternatively, tool will install a generic stock android and then look for appropriate drivers for the device after the installation)

Why do we need a tool ?
Here is what I found while playing around with stock android.

1. Majority of handset manufacturers simply don't bother provide updates . Even if they do, its ridiculously delayed.

2. The UI created by most manufacturers is not innovative or user friendly. They are loaded with ridiculous amount of bloatware. Since they don't bother to provide timely updates either, end user is stuck with an older version of Android regardless of device's capability to support newer versions of android.

3. For an average user, there is no simple way to install a stock android . Users are in mercy of tech forums and developers who volunteer to create custom ROM. Expecting a ROM from volunteers for all devices out there is unrealistic . Trusting those ROMs is another biggest concern as well. Despite the volunteer efforts , installing a stock android ROM still needs some level of IT knowledge , not the cup of tea of an average android user.

4. There is no generic stock android ROM. Reason perhaps is that, creating a package with drivers for thousands of manufacturers would be practically not feasible as the package size would be enormous.

User Experience
An end user who wants a stock android doesn't need to be an IT guy and the tool should be simple to user. Example : Click a button that would read hardware and create the package, next user interaction is a prompt asking the user to install the stock android ROM. All other user interactions such as retaining super user etc is an an option for advanced users.

Manufacturers
Any custom UI or App package a manufacturer wants to push for their device should be updated as App package from manufacturer over a pure android . (Example : Once user install the stock android, manufacturers like Samsung, can push their app like Galaxy gifts etc as a package. )

This would shorten the development cycle for manufacturers as well. Thus updating Android for their device becomes purely a app package for an android version , rather than individual device.

Advantages
For users, clearly the benefit is the ability to have most updated software and experience of pure android and freedom from abandonment of device from manufacturers.
For Google (and Android as a platform ), one of the biggest competitive disadvantage is , its fragmentation. One of the reason for fragmentation is that, for a large number of devices, simply there is no easy way to update the software. The tool could help solve fragmentation issues.

The tool may be included as part of Google's attempt for Android One initiative. Certainly , no explanation is necessary on how it benefits Google from having one single version of android in all (or at-least as many devices as possible) android devices.

For now, that's it . When i am free, I will post the details on how exactly they should do it .

Experts... What do you think ?
