Talk Time Battery Drain - Verizon

My battery life has been excellent with SOT around 6 hours with a full days use, unless I actually talk on my phone. I noticed many people talk about SOT but when I see their battery screenshots, I don't see much talk time. When I use my phone for an extended period of time, over 1.5 hours, it really seems to drain my Note 5 down. I saw the same issue on my S6, and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with VoLTE or is this just normal and I never noticed. My talk time drains the battery at almost the same rate as SOT.

Does anyone have similar experience? Is this related to VoLTE taxing the battery more than CDMA when actually talking? Any feedback would be appreciated.
