Root - What did I do wrong?

So I just bought a Verizon G900V S5 with OC4 installed.

I used this tar (photo) to Odin 3.09 back to NCG. Upon reboot I immediately got the Custom screen, and Custom Device Status in the phone info.
Is everyone getting this, or did I use the wrong tar to downgrade? I'm not too concerned, unless It means I can't update to lolipop using one of the Flashfire threads .

I went ahead and rooted with Toweroot, installed BusyBox, Safestrap, and SU 2.46. Everything went fine, except the custom status.

So should I worry about it?
Can I get rid of the custom status?
Can I still update back to OC5 or higher with Flashfire with the custom status?
