Low sound volume, android wear?

Anyone notice that after you use an android wear device, things such as youtube are super quiet? I'm not sure if its related.

I do have it set to mute while connected to the watch, but after i put teh watch away and use the phone, all sound seems very low, even when its turned all the way up. What gives?
