Walkman and album not recognising media

My sony xperia m is not recognising the media files in the phone. Album Walkman and other applications which can access the memory card are are not picking up the files to display. In fact my Ringtone has been reset to the basic one. But I can view my memory card from the file explorer( I am using ES file explorer). Please help me out. D
