Cyanogenmod won't start/ pink screen on boot

Hello everyone,

I've got a big problem flashing Cyanogenmod on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9505/ jfltexx).

When I first flashed the phone, everything was fine. Then I rebooted the phone, but before I entered the pin of my Sim-Card I shut it down. When I tried to boot it again, later that day, I just booted into a pink or magenta screen. Since then I was not able to flash anything to my phone - due to that screen.

I read, that it might help to reflash the stock firmware, so I tried it. But I was not able to flash that because in the middle of the flashing process the phone always crashed. Sometimes I am able to flash Cyanogenmod onto the phone, but the boot process of Cyanogenmod will be interupted from that magenta screen every time.

Today I wanted to try it again, downloaded the latest Cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly, the nightly of Cyanogens recovery, flashed that and then tried to flash Cyanogenmod via this one. In the past, I always used clockworkmod recovery.

But this Time the flashprocess got interupted at 47% - of course the pink screen wouldn't let go. :(

After that last try the phone seems dead (or bricked) - it won't boot. First it didn't boot into Download-Mode, but now it does not seem to do anything.
// edit: I'm able to enter the download mode again. Taking out the battery for a few minutes seemed to help.

All in all I'm trying around for nearly three month. Thank you very much in advance for any idea given.

Unable to Flash any Mods on CyanogenMod 12.1

Hello All,
As my number of post suggests am a novice to ROMS and Mods. I've used Acid Audio Engine with Noozxoide on my s3 stock ROM and the combinations sounds awesome
So after flashing the CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM, am trying use the above combo as i dont like the sound of CM built in player. . But somehow Noozxoide and S3 Music Player keep crashing. So tried experimenting with Different Audio Mod. But sadly all Mods including Megabass keep crashing

Am i going wrong somewhere? Do i have to make some changes in settings before flashing these files?

SGS4, Cyanogenmod: infinite soft reboot when internet (wifi or data) is turned on

SGS4 (GT-I9505). I installed cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-jflte about half a year ago, never had any (major) problems.

Then I woke up (late, because no alarm) this morning, noticed my phone was turned off. I tried turned it on and as soon as I entered the PIN it rebooted. After sometesting I found out that when wifi or data is turned on (either by turning one of them on manually or by exiting flight mode), the second I have connection (I do receive some whatsapp messages) my phone does a soft reboot.

The only thing that has changed (as far as I know) in the past couple of days: I installed Nova Battery Tester through Aptoide (downloaded here since it's no longer in the play store). I ran 3 online virus tests on the apk and limited its permissions with xprivacy, so I hope I'm safe in that regard. Plus, it was installed 3 days ago. Still, you never know. I uninstalled the apps (both Aptoide and NBT), but still get reboots.

Apparently people have similar problems with wifi-only, but the solution is usually: reset or reinstall the OS. Not really a solution, though I'm probably going to do that as well, since I don't foresee a solution soon (as in: today).

Anyway, if anyone does know of a solution -if not for me, then maybe for the next person- (or maybe can tell me to not use Nova Battery Tester), please share :)

CyanogenMod 11.0 No on or off charging and buttons dont work

hello,

i tried installing cyanogen 12.0 and then tried 11.0 and it installed. The problem is now the on cynogen 11.0 the charging while the phone is on or off doesnt work and now phone gone flat.

How can i fix this charging issue?

Also the buttons to left and right side of the home button doesnt work either how can this be fix to?

Facebook won't install in Xperia M running CyanogenMod 12.1

The title says it all. I'm trying to install Facebook on my device but for some reason it's stuck in the "Installing" status.

cyanogenmod recovery

Hello guys,
i don't really have a problem with my Atrix, i was just wondering why i should update the recovery even if i just install zip files and so on.... well actually i don't understand how it works, i mena, does it run in background even after the S is booted? Plus, is a problem to update the clockwork with the cyanogenmod recovery downloaded from the cyanogenmod website? which are the pros doing it? Thanls in advance and sorry for my (maybe) stupid question :v

Can't put APN settings into CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightly.

I have a T-Mobile LG Optimus L90 (D415). I recently installed CyanogenMod 12.1 on it and everything worked fine except for the fact that I don't get no service! My SIM card is in but it made no difference. So I tried manually putting in the APN for T-Mobile but it says "Access Point Names are not available for this user"


It also seems as if it doesn't even DETECT my SIM card. Is there a flashable zip that adds the settings via scripting or whatever, or is there more to it. please help ASAP. Thank you developers!

[Q] [i9506 with Temasek's UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod 12.1] MMS not working properly

Hi,

I've been using Temasek's UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod 12.1 on my GS4 Advance (i9506) since quite a few months (i.e i've used 3 different versions, until current version), and with none of them my MMS's have been working properly.

What happens : I can't send or receive MMS with LTE alone. Sending always fails, and I cannot download the ones I'm receiving.
My phone does something weird : when it tries to send an MMS, I can see the data connection being lost (I have the exclamation mark beneath the network bars).
After the send attempt fails, I have to manually turn off then back on the data connection to actually get it back.

What's even more strange is that my MMS work fine at home when I'm connected to my home's internet through WiFi o.O

LTE alone = big nono. LTE + WiFi = OK.

In the rom's developpement thread, I've seen several people complain about MMS not working for 'em either but there are also others saying they just work fine for 'em, so... Seems to be a quite unusual issue.

I've tried a data and cache wipe, even a fresh install, the problem remains.

I'm starting to think about going back to Samsung's stock rom for this reason but that would really be a shame... :(

Anyone having the same issues...?

Trouble With CyanogenMod 12.1!

Hello Guys! :) Just decided to flash a new rom to my phone. Installation went good (wipped and installed rom and gapps stock) and everything went perfectly good. There is no data connection. There is just an exclamation mark. I installed CM 12.0 to see if it was a bug related issue. I didn't connect to a wifi and noticed my data was working until I turned it off and back on and the same issue appeared. Did the same to 12.1 and it worked until I turned cellular data off and on again (and no matter if I reboot and change the APN the problem persists). Any ideas? Thank you for your time :)

Cyanogenmod updates break functionality

When i install some cm nightlies my device becomes unuseable. Do i have to do every update in order? I have my tab at 4.4.4 and i updated to 5.1 and i keep getting pop ups of apps crashing to the point where i cant do anything. They pop up about every half second. I get com.google.process.gapps has stopped working as well as email, gmail, google play services, etc. I installed lollipop gapps and it still happened. Ive had the same problem on my s5. How can i update without this happening?

"Can't connect to the camera" fix required- Lollipop Cyanogenmod 12.1 Galaxy S3 i9300

The "Can't connect to the camera" error of cyanogenmod persists.
Earlier I was using Cyanogenmod 11 and faced the same issue but there was a quick fix available - Restart_camera.apk
That ofcourse was meant for KitKat and doesn't work for 5.1.1.

I have to reboot my device several times to use the camera.
Is there any fix for this?

I recently tried to install CyanogenMod 12 on my Galaxy S5.
Being a noob at flashing, and that other stuff, I looked for online tutorials and followed them.
Everything went smooth, but as soon as I tried to set up my new profile.
Google apps kept crashing over and over again, preventing me from even advancing, and making the phone unusable.
For those of you who are well known with this stuff, pls help :(

CyanogenMod 12.1 ERROR "KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING SET WARRANTY BIT: KERNEL"

Hi. I am working on a brand new Samsung SM-G900F i.e. a Samsung Galaxy s5.
I shall explain how I have got where I have got below - which ended up with a rooted, working phone running CyanogenMod 12.1, Android 5.1.1 and with the GAPPS (Google Apps) on it, but the question is simply this: -

"How do I get rid of the error message that appears when I boot at the top left of the screen

KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
SET WARRANTY BIT: KERNEL
?"

I have set out the following in detail, in case the sequence of steps I undertook will assist other users, or enable them to recognise whereabouts in the sequence they are experiencing errors.

1) I am in the UK. The phone is a brnd new, boxed Samsung SM-G900F which uses LTE (it says so on the box, whatever LTE is).
2) The phone is not network locked: I bought it from MobilePhonesDirect (a big online retailer here in the UK) but I have a Vodafone (UK) SIM card in it, and it has hitherto worked. I am porting a number across to it such port taking effect today.
3) On the new phone I downloaded an upgrade to Android 5.0. I then encrypted the phone which took less than an hour, but quite a long time nonetheless.
4) This wasn't good enough! I wanted Android 5.1 or Android 5.1.1, so ....
5) I connected the phone to my Windows 10 PC via USB, and I attempted to use Kies. This told me to use a newer product called Smart Switch to communicate with the phone. I installed this and was able to communicate.
6) I used ODIN 3.07 to flash things to the phone. I flashed CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltejv-smg900fq and I successfully rooted the phone. Upon boot it was still running Android 5.0 and it was still encrypted.
7) I flashed ClockWorkMod (CWM) to the phone, this version: g900f-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.7
8) I flashed the following zip files to the phone [TN]-VM12.1-20150327-2.0.0-klte and gapps-5.1.x-20150324-minimal-edition-signed.
9) The phone started to boot, but I got the Cyanogenmod 12.1 "Encryption Unsuccessful" message and it would not get past that.
10) I read up. I had used the wrong Cyanogenmod file, I think. I then discovered that as the phone would not boot I was unable to get any files onto it.
11) I then, from CWM, did a factory reset, wiped the cache, and wiped the Dalvik cache
12) I discovered the wonderful, wonderful ADB feature in CMW. I managed to find a piece of software called fastboot.zip. Eventually I worked out the sequence of commands and the syntax (thanks to a YouTube video which I wished to link to but I cannot find what it was I used last night!).
12) I flashed these two slightly different CyanogenMod 12.1 / GAPPS files to the phone: cm-12.1-20150428-UNOFFICIAL-klte.zip and gapps-lpmr1-20150324-signed.zip.
13) It still had errors. I went back to CWM and I "unmounted" and "formatted" this, that and everything, and I eventually got those two zips to work.
13) The phone now functions effectively, BUT ....
14) I still get the error message

SET WARRANTY BIT: KERNEL

The above took me about 4 and a half hours in total, watching YouTube tutorial videos etc etc.
I am very grateful for all of those who share their knowledge. I would love it if someone knew how to get rid of that error message. I read something about it being Samsung Knox. I tried to run a command line command from a terminal emulator on the phone, but I got an error message.
