Solved my random reboot problem

Ok, random reboots were driving me crazy. I have a rooted phone, my son has a bone stock one.

I tried the GPS accuracy, reloading.. etc etc.. average of 4 per day. I was thinking it was part of the accelerometer hardware or software.

Ok, I got my son a new case, same as mine (different color)

He started getting random reboots. Never did before.

He said, I think the case is pressing gently on the buttons and causing a reboot.

I took an exacta knife to my case, cut the rubber button parts out.

Vola! 24 hours later.. No reboots. That is a record for me. :)

Crazy and simple solution.

can't format the whole phone, cant reboot into recovery mode???

rooted my phone, used all those root prevlged apps...was working smoothly ..the all of a sudden..it started installing apps automatically, corrupted system apps like keyboard, live wallpaper picker etc.... it would even install apps into the system that even after formatting everything ..those stupid apps will install itself again and again...so ,,i uninstalled some of the suspected apps (randomly) through root browser...
everything is same so i tried to install a custom rom (colossum) BUT....i cant even reboot into recovery mode now, tried the volume up+down+home...etc etc..even tried with apps like rom manager ....but i cant ...+ when i try to factory data reset(including internal sd card) it just switch off itself and sometimes it will format the phone storage but not the installed apps.....

can any 1 please pull me out f this mess..

SGS4, Cyanogenmod: infinite soft reboot when internet (wifi or data) is turned on

SGS4 (GT-I9505). I installed cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-jflte about half a year ago, never had any (major) problems.

Then I woke up (late, because no alarm) this morning, noticed my phone was turned off. I tried turned it on and as soon as I entered the PIN it rebooted. After sometesting I found out that when wifi or data is turned on (either by turning one of them on manually or by exiting flight mode), the second I have connection (I do receive some whatsapp messages) my phone does a soft reboot.

The only thing that has changed (as far as I know) in the past couple of days: I installed Nova Battery Tester through Aptoide (downloaded here since it's no longer in the play store). I ran 3 online virus tests on the apk and limited its permissions with xprivacy, so I hope I'm safe in that regard. Plus, it was installed 3 days ago. Still, you never know. I uninstalled the apps (both Aptoide and NBT), but still get reboots.

Apparently people have similar problems with wifi-only, but the solution is usually: reset or reinstall the OS. Not really a solution, though I'm probably going to do that as well, since I don't foresee a solution soon (as in: today).

Anyway, if anyone does know of a solution -if not for me, then maybe for the next person- (or maybe can tell me to not use Nova Battery Tester), please share :)

TWRP won't reboot - how to fix it?

After flashing TWRP in fastboot mode I can use it as the default recovery like it should and it works flawlessly except when I want to reboot.
As soon as I click on reboot in TWRP the phone freezes and I have to long press the power button to turn it off.
Is this a known bug or is there a fully working TWRP build somewhere which I can flash in recovery mode (without a PC and fastboot)?
Thanks in advance

Help! Samsung galaxy y error message from reboot button at cwm!

Hey Guys! So here's my problem today... You see my friend wanted a new ROM for his galaxy Y. And I, being a geek; accepted. Now when I flashed CWM, it worked fine at first but when I tried to reboot it at the CWM menu it says "Root access is missing. Root device. THIS CANNOT BE UNDONE." and there are 2 options either "-No" or "Yes - Root device (/system/xbin.".. Now, no matter what I choose it still wont boot up completely and open CWM. How do I fix this??? I don't want to ruin my friends new phone (I know it's a cheap phone, but it's "special" to my friend) !! HELP!

Android 5.0 - SD card stops working 15 minutes after every phone reboot

Hi everyone.
I came here to ask if anyone has ever had the same problem and even better, managed to resolve it.

Everytime I put an SD card in my phone, the phone kind of stops recognizing it after a while (mostly after 15 minutes).
When I reboot my phone, it reads the SD card properly for during 15 minutes also, then it stops.
The weird thing I noticed is that after the phone stops "reading" the SD card, if I open the file explorer it shows the SD card folder and it's free space / total space. But when I try to open the folder, it says "folder is empty." Any ideas?

NB: I tr'ied several SD cards and I always encounter this same problem.

My phone is an Elephone P7000.

Bypass Lock screen on reboot

I have a verizon Galaxy S5 on OG5 and when I reboot the phone I am able to access apps prior to the lock screen appearing. On a reboot the homescreen comes up and I can sometimes enter my messages, gchats, or open Pandora for 1 or 2 seconds before the lock screen will appear and even read the private messages.

Is this normal for the device? It seems like a big security hole.

Boot loop and random reboot

My son has a Kindle Fire HD 2nd Gen. If this is the wrong forum please let me know and i will move it.
It is not rooted.

About 2 years ago it began to randomly reboot. The interval at first was every few months. That increased to about 1-4 times a month. Since it was out of warranty, Amazon said to do a factory reset. We did and it did not help. I tried a few more times but it never helped. Amazon just said to buy a new one. My son is 6 so I figure he could deal with the random reboots.

Now it gets stuck in a boot loop. The logo comes on, then after a bit goes away. Eventually it goes black. We tried holding the power button down but it did not work. Amazon said to buy a new one.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I am open to pretty much anything as right now it does not work.

Slimkat won't turn on after reboot

I was running latest Slimkat (8/28) and rebooted the phone using the reboot menu option from holding the power button. It was plugged into a charger at the time.
A while later I noticed it still wasn't on. I tried pressing buttons, holding the power button for 30 sec., etc. The phone was a little warm before I did the reboot, not sure if that is part of the issue.

Has anyone had their phone unable to be turned on after a reboot? Any solutions?

Thanks in advance.

I can't post in the development forums yet, so forgive me if this post is in the wrong place.

SU binary update stuck at reboot

I know this is a known issue, but the thing is that most solutions i have found regard looking into the phone's settings.
The thing is I can't even boot my phone any more. The moment I get the Galaxy SIII GTI9300 logo the phone simply freezes there forever.
It's been like hours like this. I even tried removing the battery for half an hour and put it back. It just won't boot any more.

I didn't install a custom ROm after rooting, the phone was freshly rooted and didn't got to that step yet.
I rooted the device by using the toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...-v8-0-t1703488
which surprisingly worked pretty fast and I was able to confirm that my phoen was rooted by installing a root-only app (Root Uninstaller)
then i got a message asking me to update the SU binary and when i accepted the update the phoen restarted never to boot again.
I didn't even get the chance to get the ClockworkMod yet.
Now I don't even have ClockworkMod's menu at the beginning, i have nothing. only the classic boot mode that allows me to download software via Odin (which always fails no matter what package I try)

please help me, i have no other device than that right now.... :(

Su, Safestrap, any modification to /system removed on reboot!

So I have a problem here. I rooted my X1049 with kingroot, to get temp root, removed write protection with the remount command on the terminal emulator, and installed Safestrap. It installed just fine. But when I reboot my phone to enter Safestrap, it doesn't show up, because when my phone boots up and I check the system partition with my file explorer, both Su and Safestrap have been removed. I have also tried to replace Kingroot with SuperSU, which doesn't work as when I open SuperSU it says I need to upgrade the Su binaries which fails. And when I reboot my phone, Su is removed, yet again. So to me it seems like the main problem is Android rolling back my changes to /system. I really need help with this, so plz respond as soon as possible.
