S4 'Suddenly' Randomly Soft Rebooting

... even in the middle of a call.

2-3 times a day. It's rooted, but stock rom. I went through with Titanium and looked at the last months worth of apps I added, (all 3), and froze them - no difference. I have in the past tried logcat, but could never get it to work on my TF700.

How do I track this down?

SGS4, Cyanogenmod: infinite soft reboot when internet (wifi or data) is turned on

SGS4 (GT-I9505). I installed cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-jflte about half a year ago, never had any (major) problems.

Then I woke up (late, because no alarm) this morning, noticed my phone was turned off. I tried turned it on and as soon as I entered the PIN it rebooted. After sometesting I found out that when wifi or data is turned on (either by turning one of them on manually or by exiting flight mode), the second I have connection (I do receive some whatsapp messages) my phone does a soft reboot.

The only thing that has changed (as far as I know) in the past couple of days: I installed Nova Battery Tester through Aptoide (downloaded here since it's no longer in the play store). I ran 3 online virus tests on the apk and limited its permissions with xprivacy, so I hope I'm safe in that regard. Plus, it was installed 3 days ago. Still, you never know. I uninstalled the apps (both Aptoide and NBT), but still get reboots.

Apparently people have similar problems with wifi-only, but the solution is usually: reset or reinstall the OS. Not really a solution, though I'm probably going to do that as well, since I don't foresee a solution soon (as in: today).

Anyway, if anyone does know of a solution -if not for me, then maybe for the next person- (or maybe can tell me to not use Nova Battery Tester), please share :)

Soft Bricked phone! Help.

My Device: g900A - Rooted -4.4.2 Xtreme Dynamic Kat 1.1 - safestrap 3.75 - Based on G900FZHU1ANI2 firmware

My goal was to run [ROM] [5.0] [OC7] TMS5 3.0

I followed the Instructions at [ROM] [5.0] [OC7] TMS5 3.0 Page http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-...29-15-t3095987 which first told me to use muniz_ri's method to get rooted lolypop. - [How-To] Update to G900A_OF3 - 5.0 and KeepRoot http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-...proot-t3149146 I did the Flashfire method and everything seemed to work fine until I got to the part where I needed to use Odin. I flashed the G900A_OA1_Bootloader using Odin's PDA/AP slot.
and got SECURE CHECK FAIL : aboot

So currently my phone is soft bricked. I Am not able to enter recovery, I am only able to get into the downloader.
In the notes in muniz_ri's process there is information about unbricking which tells me to flash the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar using Odin's PDA/AP slot
I got an error when i tried to flash G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar SECURE CHECK FAIL : PIT
I tried adding a seperate pit file with a firmware that has ap, cp, csc SM-G900A 4.4.2 G900AUCU1ANCE Firmware
Still the same error SECURE CHECK FAIL : PIT

At this point Ive done a lot of research and I am at a lost at why Odin keeps failing. Ive tried updating my usb android drivers, different usb slots and tried a different cable. not sure what to do next.

my tab pro 8.4 has been soft bricked, can anyone help me?

I'll start from the beginining.. Okay so since i bought my tab (3 months ago) i had a battery problem, but it wasnt a bad battery problem. Once it got to 95% battery it stopped charging. Anyway, about a week after that i was unhappy with the performace of touchwiz on my tab so i decided to root it and install the cyanogenmod 12 nightlies. I was happy with cm for a while but eventually i got bored of all the bugs and instabilities so i decided to switch to a touchwiz rom.. This touchwiz rom was a vast improvement from the stock touchwiz so i decided to keep it. However i still wanted to improve the performace so i researched online for apk's/zip's that could improve my tabs performace. I came across crossbreeder and people said it was really good so i decided to install crossbreeder through TWRP. Once installed i rebooted my device and i instantly found many more battery problems. For example my battery would go from 50% to 20% in 5 mins/my battery would run out and i would reboot it and it would have had 40% etc. I downloaded some battery calibrating apps and calibrated my tab. After all that, that battery wasnt so bad. It was still dodgy but no where near as bad as it was straight after installing crossbreeder. Anyway, this was about 1 month ago. Since then, no new problems had occured with the battery until last night. Last night, my battery ent don to 1% then turned off like it should. I put my tab on charge and rebooted however when it rebooted nothing would work. My touchscreen didnt work, my home button didnt work, none of the keys next to the home button didnt work. So i thought that this was no problem and i could just boot into TWRP, factory reset and install the backup that i made. When i tried this, i booted into TWRP successfully however i couldnt press any of the TWRP buttons, again, i thought that this could be solved by flashing the stock firmware through odin. I put my tab into download mode and connected it to my pc, then flashed the stock rom. Once finished it showed a 'pass' and i thought everything was sorted.. When my tab booted up, it again, didnt let me press anything and none of the buttons would work. This is when i panicked. I then went into the stock recovery to factory reset my tab to see if that would work however, when i went into stock recovery, i couldnt go up or down using the volume keys.. So my volume keys didnt work either. I next put my tab in download mode and connected it to my pc. I opened odin and checked the 'Nand erase all' box thinking this would fully reset my whole tab. I then researched the 'nand erase all' function to find that everyone said that it breakes your device and puts it in bootloop etc. After reading this i instantly disconnected the usb from my computer to my tab. I tried rebooting my tab to see if it still booted and it didnt.. (i waited 20 mins). I then ran odin with 'clear efs' box ticked on. Again it didnt boot. I went into stock recovery again to see if the volume keys would work.. they didnt.. Infact when i opened stock recovery it had 3 errors showing (which it didnt last time i opened stock recovery). They all started with 'failed to mount /data'. Now i am here.. Sorry it was such a long read, i thought it would be better if i explained in detail. Thanks to anyone that replies/helps me.

AT&T M7, Soft Brick, Desperate for help!

I post as a final measure, as after two days of being unable to use my AT&T HTC One M7, I am in need of help. Badly. I have tried everything I could find, it either errors, fails, or crashes, nothing is working for me. I am without an OS, and have an unlocked bootloader, TWRP, and sleep deprivation. This all started when attempting to update to the newest Android available, and has left me stranded with a soft brick. If anyone has any ideas for me, PLEASE speak up. My phone was working fine until yesterday, and I am NOT interested in going back to my Iphone.

[HELP] I9100 soft bricked

Hello everyone, I recently got my hands on an old SGS2 I9100. When I got it I simply used Framaroot to root it because it wouldn't show up on any pc. It was on 4.1.2 if I remember correctly and I googled around a bit and nothing seemed to work so I thought why not. Everything was working fine, I flashed cwm through mobile odin too no problem. After a while I installed resurrection remix, it booted and worked just fine. Now here's the **** up.. My friend told me that I should try to flash twrp and see if my pc could recognize it through recovery and since twrp do not have an official i9100 version I got a unofficial one from god knows where. So I flashed it and now I'm stuck at samsung logo and can't access recovery mode. I can access bootloader though but no pc seems to be able to recognize it.

Worst case scenario, the port is broken. It barely charged because the port is worn out and I've tried cleaning it. I've also tried multiple cables and only one seems to work to get it to charge and I've tried connecting it to multiple pcs.

Any suggestions? The port should not be broken when I got it to charge right?

Soft brick because of AT&T update?

Just got a update for my LG G Flex D950 from AT&T. I didn't think twice, and hit update. Now my phone will only go to TWRP. I'm using TWRP v2.8.6.0 any suggestions? All I've done is root it, it has the original ROM it came with.

HTC Desire 816 randomly soft bricked

Good afternoon,

I'm having some serious problems with my device and hope someone that knows what they're doing can help me out!

I've had the HTC Desire 816 Dual Sim (Chinese) just less than a year now. I rooted this device about 6 months ago and has served me pretty well. Last week, my device ran down to ~ 3% and I plugged it into my car whilst using Google Maps for the sat nav. The device completely drained and when trying to charge it from the wall socket back at home, the device is stuck in the fastboot menu and has been since; I can't get the device to boot.

The information on the screen is:

Quote:

*** UNLOCKED ***
A5_DUG PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-INVALID_VER_INFO
OpenDSP-INVALID_VER_INFO
OS-
eMMC-boot 1536MB
Nov 10 2014, 21:47:26.0

Concerned mostly about the "invalid ver info" sections. From the recovery menu, the device just vibrates and restarts; I can't re-install TWRP or CWM and keep getting an error when I try to.

Does anyone have any initial suggestions? It'd really help me out. Thanks in advance.

Ascend Mate soft brick (I think)

Dear all, I would reset my Mate and did a factory reset from Android Menu. After that the phone was going to the TWRP Recovery. So I didn't read further tutorials and thought a full wipe would not a bad Idea. But sadly I did not found the old Custom Image ZIP file and would install the factory default firmware. UPDATE.APP. After some doings I lost my TWRP Image (I think by swiping) and now I have only the HUAWEI SDCARD&USB UPDATE AGENT VERSION 2.0 running.

When I try now to update of UPDATE.APP from SDCARD, the error is, the Agent can not mount. I was trying two SD Cards. fresh formatted.

Are all sizes compatible? Or do I have to use a small SD card?

Soft break, /cache mount problem with locked bootloader

I breaked my Nexus 5 by restarting it while clearing the cache. I cannot use `fastboot flash cache` since I have locked bootloader using BootUnlocker. I have CM12.1 with CM recovery installed. Is there any way to unlock the bootloader using CM recovery or fix the cache partition without oem unlock?

S4 LTE i9505 soft bricked!

Hi, Ive been stuck with this problem for about 3 days now. I have tried EVERYTHING possible and now I'm getting impatient. I've tried every advice on almost every forum or blog. But still cant seem to resolve the issue.

I was running echoe rom 5.1 and tried to flash cm 12 on it through philz recovery. It failed the first time but I was able to access philz. Then I tried to flash stock firmware through Odin and I dont know what happened, it failed and I got an error "Firmware upgrade failed and try recovering through kies...."

I tried kies, my device wasnt able to connect( I tried all the ports and cables I have) and even reinstalled kies just to check. No luck.

Then I killed all the kies processes and tried to flash a stock firmware, this time odin gave an error "PIT partition not found".

I have tried multiple PIT files for i9505 16gb with multiple stock roms on multiple versions of Odin (1.85, 3.07, 3.09, 3.10) some forums asked to tick 're-partition', some said to untick 'auto reboot', Ive tried all of them, still fails.

I can only access download mode on my phone right now, not philz recovery and neither stock android recovery.

my write protection is also enabled, I think this is the core issue, once the protection is disabled, PIT can re partition and flash a stock, and once a stock is flashed, I can flash any recovery and flash any custom ROM through that.

I have been flashing and rooting androids since the last 2 years and never encountered such a problem. Always found some solution online.

I would really appreciate if you guys could help with the problem. Thanks

Help recover files from soft bricked Stock 5.0.2

Hi all,
was updating my stock Xperia z 6603 on Android 5.0.2 to 5.1.1
The update failed and my device is soft bricked. Is there any way I can recover data from it??
Is there any way I can go from a soft bricked stock 5.0.2 to a custom ROM directly?

Obviously need to get phone up and running again ASAP so all help that can help me get there ASAP is hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Neil

Soft buttons remap, disable backlight.

Hi guys,

I am new to the Note Edge. I cannot get used to the location of the back and recent buttons. I have been searching around but cannot find any mention that any ROM support disable the buttons' backlight and remap them to normal locations. Which ROM support it without extra software?

Thanks a lot.

Can I recover photos on a soft bricked phone?

My Verizon SCH-I535 was getting an OTA update when my cat knocked my phone over and the battery came out, now my phone keeps getting stuck on the Verizon splash screen. I don't mind following the soft brick instructions to get rid of it but my worry is that I have some photos on there that I would like to recover. Is there a way to get rid of stuck Verizon logo without losing my photos and other data?

In download mode the following message shows up

Soft bricked?

Hi all

I have Samsung Galaxy Tab S SM-T700. I wanted to from CM12 to CM11 for an app I need to test.
I picked the wrong ROM (for the SM-T800), so used TWRP to clear everything it would let me.
Now I can't get in to recovery mode (power + home + volume up).
I can get in to download mode, and Odin recognises and successfully roots the device., then reboots. However, the Samsung boot logo appears, then the 3 lights at the bottom of the screen flash a couple of times and it turns off.

That seems to be the only key combination that work. Power does nothing, power + home + volume down do nothing.

Any help appreciated.

(Soft) Bricked Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon

"Root my phone" she says, "It will be great" she says...That is what my girlfriend asked me but now I have her phone bricked and can't get it running again. Have rooted multiple android devices before but this one has stumped me. Tried to get old 4.4.4 OS on it using Odin and now I cannot get any OS on it. Even the original stock OS I cannot get loaded on, which I would happily take.

Things you should know:
-Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon edition
-Using Odin v 3.10.06
-Using md5 and .tar SM-G900V
-Phone can go into Recovery/Download Mode
-Odin sees phone and recognizes it, but when trying to load on OS it gives error failed.

Ask me for any other info, I would be happy to get it rooted, not rooted, custom ROM, just anything to get it running again.

Thank you very much.
