Turn off Mobile Data nag notification?

Please excuse this post which is not strictly concerning an Optimus Black. There's no forum for an Optimus Zone 2 (VerizonPP) but I hope this is a common enough issue which must have broader application.

I'm using an Optimus Zone 2 as a replacement for my recently deceased and much-loved Insignia Pilot. The rise of the smart phone has meant the demise of really capable mp3 players like the Pilot but I realized that an Android device would allow me to find music, audiobook, and video apps that might come close to replacing my Pilot.

I've got the phone, by-passed the activation, rooted, customized. The battery is not as long-lasting, but there is a lot going on "under the hood", so that's OK.

I have 3G disabled, WiFi off unless used. My only real complaint with my setup is the annoying nag notification that comes up when I power up the phone concerning the lack of a data connection. It wouldn't be so bad if it would just go away by itself, but no, I have to dismiss it with a touch. I've disabled every phone related app I can find, turned off notifications for those it would not let me disable. And still it's there.

Is there a way to get rid of something like this?

[no, I don't use the device as a phone--although I have GrooveLite Ip installed for emergencies when WiFi is available. I don't own a cell phone. Have no use for one. But it's hard to beat a "mp3" player running KitKat!)

My lenovo tab does not turn on

can someone help me,my lenovo ideatab A3000 H did not turn on,it only flashing the lenovo logo n freeze there,i already try the 20 sec press thing and the reset button under the camera but its not working..please can someone help..

meizu mx4 dead. no charge. no turn on

hi! i have a mx4 dead i think. i can't turn on. cant go to recovery. no charge. i install xposed with amplify and coolify. one day with no problems. suddenly i lost wifi. i reboot and voila... cellphone dead. i let the mx4 charging 24 hours but nothing happens. please!!! any advice? :crying:

Samsung Galaxy S (I9100g) won't turn on or charge!

So the other day I was using my phone (normal usage) and suddenly while using Whatsapp, the phone froze and wasn't responding at all. Finding no other way to use it or turn it off, I proceeded by pulling out the battery and ever since it has not booted back up or even charges. The only sign of life I get is the momentary sound my laptop makes when I connect the phone via the data cable but that too also lasts for merely a second and the disconnects again, it keeps on connecting and disconnecting. Any help at all would be grateful!
P.S I even removed the battery for a couple of hours, left it to charge overnight, all to no avail.

Moto G wont turn on

Hey guys im new here and i need your help! I tried installing CM into my moto g, but it didnt go so well so i flashed stock rom and it worked fine. I tried to update the stock (4.4) to Lollipop and it was showing a progress bar it was going well. I leave my phone there and went to go do something and when i came back to check the the progress, the screen was off. I tried to power it on several times and even tired holding down the volume button but it wont power up. The charger wasn't plugged when it was updating but the battery percentage was over 70%.. I left it there to charge for hours and still wont work. But when i plug it in my laptop it makes a sound that the phone is connected but the screen is still off. When its plugged in my laptop my notification blinks once and thats it doesnt do any thing else. Can someone help me fix this?:(

Short problem review. My brother used some custom rom for a while. Today he tried to install CM12,1 . He installed it by Cwm recovery. Everythink looks fine. After first start it was imposible even to unlock phone (all the time some programs stoped working...). After hard reset phone not turn on at all. It shows just SONY logo then 4seconds black screen and phone auto restart. And it never end. Is it posible that he break this phone? P.S. just one option works - fastboot mode (blue led). Sorry for poor english.
Maybe someone can give me some hints or tips what to do?

disable back and recent buttons or turn down sensitivity.

I am having issues with the touch sensitivity of the note 5. The screen and capacitive buttons (back and recent apps) are simply TOO sensitive.

is there a way to disable these buttons in games or rather bring down the sensitivity down a bit?

for example when I am playing a game this i have to hold my phone in landscape mode. my thumb would always sometimes touch the "recent apps" button and it will bring me out of the game.

PSA: doubletap statusbar to turn screen off

This feature seems to be working since the latest OTA, and only on the lockscreen. Hadn't seen any mention on it before, so just so you know. It cannot be toggled in settings AFAIK.

Wifi Constantly Trying to Turn itself on??

Hey everyone.

I was using mobile hotspot and I would notice that my phone would prompt me that turning on Wifi will disable the hotspot.

I did not even touch my phone and it seems like Wifi is trying to turn itself on. I suspect that Wifi is always turning on every once in a while even though I leave it off and that my phone just warns me about turning on Wifi because I'm running a hotspot...

Is this happening for anyone else? I'm on Sprint!

Wifi won't turn on after OTA update

I purchased a second hand One M8 which had CyanogenMod installed on it. My aim was to revert it to stock (either on O2 UK or standard HTC ROM) with the abillity to get OTA updates.

I checked the CID (O2__001) and got a stock recovery image and nandroid backup for it. I then used fastboot to flash TWRP as the recovery image, and used that to restore the nandroid backup. That worked fine and it was working with the O2 ROM, so I flashed the stock recovery image as well.

After this it prompted for an OTA update so I thought all was going well. I installed the update and that all worked as expected until it booted up. All the functionality is there, but the Wifi won't turn on at all. If I tap the option to turn it on, it just hangs in the "off" position. It's the same whether I do it through the settings menu or from notification bar. I tried doing a factory reset but it makes no difference. It's very frustrating because other than this, everything is working the way I would like to.

What could cause the Wifi to stop working after an OTA update?

Reactivation lock doesn't get turn off need help

I'm having issue with my note 4 N910C ,I need to root my phone for root or flashing twrp recovery reactivation lock must be untick when I try to untick it doesn't get turn off I also flash the stock rom after flashing a rom, I can't turn off the reactivation lock of my phone. I uncheck it, but when I enter download or recovery mode, it is still turned on and this doesn't link to any samsung id account but show activation lock on in download mode even I flash stock rom and done hard format but still got this issue
help would be appreciated

Slimkat won't turn on after reboot

I was running latest Slimkat (8/28) and rebooted the phone using the reboot menu option from holding the power button. It was plugged into a charger at the time.
A while later I noticed it still wasn't on. I tried pressing buttons, holding the power button for 30 sec., etc. The phone was a little warm before I did the reboot, not sure if that is part of the issue.

Has anyone had their phone unable to be turned on after a reboot? Any solutions?

Screen wont turn on after fastboot

So I broke my phone real good.

Long story short I was following a tutorial on how to fix a softbrick and must have sent a poor command to the phone. The screen was working fine and then I typed fastboot reboot.

Now the screen will no longer turn on. My computer makes a sound like the phone is turning on but I'm not able to send any fastboot or adb commands to it.

Any ideas?

Flashed kernel on locked bootloader, screen won't turn on

Hi my devices screen won't power on after flashing AndroPlus v59 kernel on my locked bootloader Z2 5.1.1 on (Forgot custom kernels require bootloader unlock).

Holding the power button causes vibration but the screen doesn't turn on. Neither does it boot up as my PC doesn't detect it. I can't boot into recovery either. Flashmode/fastboot appear to be working (blue/green LED lights up) but again PC does not detect it in flashtool or adb with the correct drivers installed. Note that trying to force reboot (holding power+vol up) causes no triple vibration.

Is there anyway to fix this (without wiping if possible) or have I bricked my device for good?

Screen does not turn on during notifications?

I Just purchased a zenfone 2 laser and slowly getting used to the ZenUI(5.0.2). I was just wondering if there is anyway to make the screen turn on when I get a notification like my old Moto G 2013.

Yureka does not turn on!!

At about 12:00 AM on 11/9/15 when I was about to sleep I saw a message on my Yureka phone that the battery was low (15% left) and asking to turn on battery saver mode. I did not do it as I was to get up at 6:00AM and an alarm was also set at that time. I woke up at 6:30AM saw there were few SMS. I put the phone on charge. I do not remember what amount of charge was left. After an hour I checked the phone. There was a blue light indicating the the charging was on. When I pressed the power button the phone did not respond (display was dark, it did not light up). I removed the phone from charging and reconnected. Now the blue light did not turn on. There was not light. Then I opened the phone case removed battery and reconnected it and tried to switch on the phone. It did not turn on!! When I tried by connecting the charger, the phone did not turn on. After few more trials of combinations I called the customer care. They asked me to do lot of things which did not help. They say they have escalated the complaint and they will call back in 24 to 48 hrs... Today 12/9/15 when I tried to connect the charger I got a red light. I left it for long time thinking the phone will get charged.

When I checked the internet for the problem I find that only bricked phones indicate with red light when charger/PC is connected!! I have not done anything which the forum says so that the phone gets bricked.

Have anyone faced similar problem and how do I come out of it?
How to take data out of such phones??

Turn this thing off! Nook HD keeps restarting

My Nook HD with CM 12.1 will not stay off when I turn it off. Takes anywhere from 3 to 20 times of powering it off to just have it act is if it was turned back on goes through the whole boot up routine.
This has done this with CM 11 on it too & I think it did it way back when I had CM 10 on it, but not as often , but I found when I was using CM 11 that if I used an app called Quickboot to shut the tablet off it would stay off, but it doesn't help with CM 12.1

Any suggestions on what I can do to get thing to turn off?
Other then the not turning off problem it is working great with CM 12.1

z1 don't turn on

I don't know why my phone don't turn on, the only thing I can do with the phone is restarting it using power button and volume up, but the screen keep black, the pc does not recognize it and not even turn on the light.

What can i do? :(
