5.1 remove missing SIM card and reception bars?

Is there a way to remove the missing SIM card symbol and the singal strength symbol?

Only found older stuff that doenst work with 5.1. Root and xposed is available. If there is anything device specific, its about an Xperia Z.

I am very curious because this is rarely talked about. How is the reception on the PE? Motorola and Nokia are renowned for how good reception their phones get. Happy to have a Motorola phone on the way. Anybody have input coming from another brand? My note2 and note4 get pretty good reception. The note 3 didn't really. My htc m8 was a couple of notches above the note3. I have a cracked nexus5 that was given to me from my sister but since cracked screen haven't given it a test run. So did the advertised method of 'better' reception' from nexus6 from new tech carry over to the moto x PE? Really curious as I might give all the carriers a try for haha's.

I am really hoping Legere pulls out all the stops and goes all in to score some good 600mhz band. If they do, we probably won't t see it for u til 2017. The auction is next year. And tmobile needs to be more aggressive with the RIL's and throw 700mhz in theix more. I rarely see 700mhz being used. I have to force often times when I get bad signal.

Note 4 poor reception

I'm finding that my note 4 has much worse reception than my old S4.

In the same location with the same sim card the S4 signal is about 6 dBA (so 4x) better than the Note 4.

Dodgy hardware? Have done factory resets and no improvement. ..

wifi reception

Hello all. I am wondering if anyone has made any modifications to their wifi antenna and saw an improvement in reception?

I messed with mine after reading a how to on making an improved reception antenna - I cut off the tip of the sheathing on my antenna and then stripped a copper wire bare and spliced them together. I covered the wire with a straw and tried it out. Unfortunately I did not see any improvement.

Is there a better antenna I can buy, or a booster or something of that sort?

Questions on GPS and cell reception.

Have had the note 2, note 3, and note 4. Recently gave up on the note 4 because of the camera having focusing issues and the GPS losing signal constantly. Went to the lg g4 because of the camera being amazing and the GPS actually working and staying locked for an entire 90 minute trip. Reception with the note 4 was also garbage. The lg g4 pulls T-Mobile in with no problem. Kind of missing the note format and haven't seen any reviews talk about GPS and cell reception. So those that have the note 5 can you chime in on the above mentioned points?

Bad reception

I'm getting bad reception on my d800. It's a little better on a stock or stocked based ROM and worse on an AOSP ROM.
Is there a way to increase the signal strength?

Introduction
I have two HTC Sensations, I found that one has a lot better reception than the other one.
The one that had better reception, I flashed a Sense 3.5 RUU beforehand.
The other one that had not so good reception, I had flashed a Sense 3.6 RUU beforehand.
Both had the 3.33 universal firmware from @Kohr-Ah installed.
I compared the firmwares from 3.33 and 3.12, I found that 3.12 has pg2fs_spcustom.img and 3.33 doesn't, I think @mike1986. removed it.
My conclusion is, pg2fs_spcustom.img must be different.
From what I know, pg2fs_spcustom.img has encrypted radio related code.
So I have repackaged the universal 3.33 firmware to include pg2fs_spcustom.img

Summary
After flashing this firmware on my HTC sensation with the one with poorer reception, I found that reception is now far better and faster to connect and switch between towers.
My results may differ from yours but I'm sharing this as it may be a solution for some.

Installation
Place PG51IMG.zip in the root directory of your sdcard.
Check the MD5 checksum is correct = 3abc6ae08031d3dd4c1820d2c2046c1a
Reboot device into bootloader and confirm flash.
Note: Remove PG51IMG.zip from root of sdcard afterwards.

S4 radio reception

Here is my issue and I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on this... currently on Canadian Rogers LTE network, but my job site has piss poor reception, usually to the point where I am getting a useless 1 bar on 4g. The thing is... and tech support can offer next to no support... Canadian networks are now sharing their towers should rogers have no reception in the area, others like telus step up

so my question is this... with my stock s4 is there a way to force the phone to go off telus towers. guys I work with have full bars with Telus, meanwhile rogers is terrible. the other option, I only have a couple months left so I could root and modify that way too and not be too worried if I brick

any help is much appreciated

Leather back and cell signal reception loss

Has anyone noticed that the leather back seems to attenuate cell phone signal strength?

I was able to use signal test pro and found with the leather back on I would hover around -110 db and with the back plate off, I'd hover around -100 to -95 db. This is with no case in the exact same location. Alternating between the leather back and no back plate routinely altered signal strength by 10db on a Sprint LG G4 on LTE band 25 and band 41

Anyone else notice this or can replicate this? Does the plastic back also display this characteristic?

New Note 5 Same poor wifi and cell reception

Went to a few shops today here in Taipei,Taiwan where they are selling the Dual sim card Note 5 and sure enough just like my Galaxy S6 Edge the Note 5 has poor wifi reception and poor cell reception signal. I went to 3 carriers shops right next to each other and all Samsung Note 5 displayed on Demo in the store had poor wifi connection issues while there smartphones had no problem connecting and had better signal strength on their wifi reception. The 4 GLTE signal band was also weaker on the new Note 5.

The speaker Volume though was quite good for a bottom speaker. Screen was good and camera was great. If you are about connections though you may end up hating this phone. Tried out new Galaxy S6 Edge + too and it had the the same problems as well. Samsung should address the poor wifi and cell signal issue.
