I wanna make a titanium backup, but I don't have any room on my memory card. Is there anyway I can have a memory card dedicated to my backup?

My internal storage is almost completely used up and it's mainly because of the pictures and videos I took. How do I move them to SD?

Why is Android killing running apps instead of old apps when low memory?

Using Lollipop on my device with 1 GB of RAM, I've found that I have trouble using Maps Navigation and Play Music together. Frequently, if I start Nav and then Music, Nav will be closed. Conversely, if I start Music and then Nav, Music will be closed.

Further, I've discovered that if I open the app switcher and clear all old applications, that Nav and Music will work together without problem.

It appears that Android is trying to reclaim memory while under pressure from Nav & Music, but it's starting with other fresh, currently-running applications instead of clearing out old apps from memory first. I would expect stale applications, like Chrome, Mint, or whatever that hasn't been touched in hours to be killed first over a new app--especially ones that are running in the background actively (Music, Nav).

Why is Android killing processes like that? Shouldn't it kill old apps first over newer, active ones?

Cant delete backups / Memory Full

Hi, Im new to this device but right after I got it I did the right thing and voided my warranty :) Rooted and installed a custom recovery. The recovery has been a bit of a pain but that is a story for another thread.

The problem I am having is that when I try to take a backup from recovery it errors (I forget the error, sorry. ) however the backup is still right there in the backup directory. I tried a second attempt at a backup (to see if it would error again) and these two backups filled my remaining memory. lI of course used my file explorer to delete these extraneous backups-- only to see that they are not deletable. I also tried on the PC. The folder lists read and write in the permissions. I am kind of at a loss as to what to do. IIRC correctly from a while back with this issue the answer lies somewhere in CHMOD, but I cant quite seem figure it out. CD to the directory in a terminal emulator and then CHMOD 777? I need rescue important data from internal memory.

Hello. Sorry for my low level English.

I have a Motorola xoom (wingray). Is freeze at Motorola logo at start. It have important data in the internal memory that I need rescue but I haven't access.

Things I have tried:
- access by adb to save internal data to my pc. Adb commands don't work because USB debugging mode is off. Adb devices don't see xoom.

- access by fastboot mode and use fastboot commands to install twrp. Don't work because bootloader is locked. If i try unlock bootloader the user data will be erased.

What can I do to rescue user data?

[BUG] Another Memory Bug

I had force stopped/greenified apps but even after that Android isn't releasing their used memory.
I had to uninstall all Apps and minimize using to WhatsApp,Gmail,Hangout and Hike Messenger.
I can't even keep extra apps installed.

I am using Greenify with Xposed Framework to freeze system apps and prevent them from waking up.
Still there is no way to gain memory of frozen apps.

Easy way to notice:
1. Open Settings-Applications-Running Apps-
2. Memorize free RAM.
3. Try force stopping bunch of heavy Apps.
4. You won't see free RAM increased no matter what you do.

I was actually thinking to give up S6 Edge but I hope Samsung or someone might fix this annoying Memory bug.

Note: I have tried all custom ROM's till latest Crash ROM V2.4.

Very large "Android" folder in main memory...

Hi, does anyone have any idea why this folder has fattened so much in 18 months of use, and whether or not I can trash it? Galaxy Note 3, international version.

Repartitioning internal memory

Hello,

I have Huawei Youth 2.
I want to install Hearthstone but it seems the rom memory requiered is 2GB. I have 1GB total space. The internal memory is 4GB. I know this is because od the manufacturer partitions. I want to repartition my internal memory so I'll have at least 3GB od total space. How can I do this? My device is rooted so I'd want method that doesn't require a pc (after all, I want to install the game on my tablet because I don't have a pc :) ).

Internal Memory read only

Hi,

after some time with Minimal OS I went back to Shawn's Titan Prime (1.1.1) on my XT1069 yesterday and after setting everything up I noticed that I can't edit or save files on the internal memory anymore. Also happens with the External SD card but I managed to delete a file using ES file explorer.

Corrupted Memory Moto G?

I received a boot looped moto G from a friend and what infuriates me is that no matter what I do, nothing changes on the phone. NOTHING. Flash new recovery? Old one is still there. Flashed new modem, radio, boot images, boot logo [OKAY] and more yet it's as if the phone never budged. I wiped /data /system /cache too.

Not recognized on ADB
Recognized on mfastboot
Boots to recovery
Bootloader Unlocked

Any ideas what the issue is?

Mounting sd to internal memory

Lets hope I'm in the right forum this time :) I created a thread in the assist forum but they told me to start from here. I guess they think I have a better chance to find an answer. Here it goes.

I have a tablet ZTE E9Q witch it has a very small amount of memory. Only 1gb and already the system took 900mb incliding factory apps. I need to edit the vold.fstab in order to increase the internal memory.I have watched videos on youtube and read a few threds and post here but I still can't figure it out. The lines are not the same as the ones a saw. Can anyone help me please?

ps: I already tried to swap 0 and 1 in the first and the second line but I got nothing.Still was the same.

Hi.I have ZTE E9Q 3G tablet and I want to mount the external sd card to internal memory. It has only 1gb. I've seen quite a few videos and read some threads but I can't figure it out.At least with the way I want it.

[Q] Use SDCard as Internal memory.

Hi!

I allow myself to open this post because I would like to use my 128GB SDcard as the Internal memory of M8.
Indeed, the "16GB" default storage is too little and some applications (games) are litteraly storage eaters and don't have the feature to move their data to the sdcard.

So, I have see that this trick can be done by modifying the vold.fstab but on the M8 I can't find this file (only a file named fstab.qcom).

Have anyone tried to do this thing and how can it be done?

Looking for a memory expansion cable

I have been looking for a way to expand storage on my Note 5. It would seem quite easy to fabricate a short extension cable. One end would be a low-profile right-angle micro-usb connector such as those used in the stand-alone NFC charging coils. A short ribbon cable could then wrap around the back of the phone, terminating in a micro-sd socket. It would be a simple matter to install this and tuck it into the back such that a skin could hold it securely against the back of the phone.

I am surprised that I cannot find such a device anywhere. It would not be difficult to build if one could find the parts, but I have been unable to locate a source for the micro-sd connector. Note that those attached to NFC coils only have power pins, so they are not usable.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Internal memory vs SD card on Lollipop

So I'm thinking about buying the Moto X Style/Pure Edition, but I'm coming from a 64 GB OPO, so 16 GB isn't really going to cut it. To be economical I'm thinking about getting the 16 GB variant and adding an SD card. I haven't used an SD card with Android for years though, and I know a lot has changed. Performance-wise is an SD card going to be significantly worse than internal memory, and am I likely to run into lots of instances where apps won't let me install to the SD card? I install a lot of apps and also use a good amount of storage space for Google Play Music downloads.

What ROM for XT1021 has the best memory management, I'm currently using cm12.1 but can't install any more apps because of insufficient space, I have a 32gb SD card so I can put apps on there if its possible with out partitions

Play Music memory leak

I've been listening to Play Music for a couple days, and I found a disturbing fact; a memory leak. For every song I listen to, the size of the app data goes up a few MB and after a few songs it has skyrocketed to 150 MB. I don't know how to fix this, and my phone has only 1.27 GB of storage. Any help would be appreciated. [emoji26]

How do I copy internal Phone memory Data files ? [android]

I can see files on my phone browser, but they are invisible when I connect to my Laptop.
(my laptop is set to show hidden and system files already).

the phone files are within the Phone STORAGE\Android\data\com.xxxxxx\files\xxxxxxx

They are AUDIO recordings from an App.
i have around 1000 files there.
I can bluetooth them but its gonna take forever!!!

surely there is another way to get them to my laptop via USB ?

[Help] Z3 slow internal memory speed.

I don't know what happened, but in the last few days, my internal memory got so slow that i have to wait like 15 second for the applications list in Settings/Apps. Also, it takes 20 minutes to simply move a 200mb file from a folder to another. I have no clue about the cause. These 2 things were istantaneous before I had this issue, and I have no idea if it's either a software or an hardware problem. I would like to know some ideas on how to solve it before trying a reset.

I'm on Android 5.1.1, rooted.
