Increase volume steps in android 5.1.1

Up to android Kitkat I used the xposed module Volume Steps+ to alter the behavior of volume increments in the volume panel.

Now I'm on lollipop 5.1.1 and this module does not work anymore, there's lots of people having the same problem.
Over here I could read that it should be somewhere else in the framework.jar file.

The only way I know to change the jar file is to decompile it with baksmali.
So I can try if I can find the location where I need to change some values.

But I'm still looking for an xposed module or a stand-alone program to change the increment values.
I even want to try to write my own program but then I need to know how to change the framework.jar file from within the code (still need to decompile it one way or another or is there another way to change these values).

Can somebody give me a solution or put me in the right direction?

Increase Resolution and Quality of photos sent by WhatsApp (ROOT)

This is the tutorial:

0 - Download a file explorer and grant superuser permission (I personally use ES FILE EXPLORER).
1 - Locate this folder: /data/data/com.whatsapp/shared_prefs/
2 - Open the file "com.whatsapp_preferences.xml".


+ Mod image quality (jpg compression level ?)

Look for this line: <int name="image_quality" value="80" />

Change its value (80 by default) to whatever you want (a number between 1 to 99, you shouldn't use 0 or 100 I think).

RECOMMENDED VALUE: 90
Info: at 99 your photos won't have any compression (best quality), but the file size will be MUCH bigger (very close to the original size)


+ Mod image resolution

Look for this line: <int name="image_max_edge" value="1600" />

Change 1600 to the value you want, for example 3200 or 6400 (or bigger).
Info: I think this changes the maximum width allowed for an image. By default, if you want to send a 4K photo (for example) the sent image will be downsized to 1600px. Therefore if you want to send bigger photos change 1600 to 6400 or whatever.

As you see it keeps the same resolution, you can also increase the quality to 99 to send photos with almost no compression, so the sent image and the original are almost the same, but I don't recommend that value because it takes longer to upload (if you have bad internet like me you won't want to increase the quality to 99), so you should try 90 (which I think is the best quality/compression level).

Well everybody, as it has been asked many times now so i bring you the guide to increase the ""Microphone Gain"" on lollipop.
You will need to make some changes to the mixer_paths.xml content located in system/etc.
Open in Notepad++ or editor of choice and search for <path name="rec-main-mic">.
See below for what to edit,be careful not to adjust more than the value stated.
Save and set permissions to 644 or rw-r-r then reboot.

Is it possible to increase volume output beyond stock through Bluetooth?

When I stream music from my M9 to my Bluetooth enabled car stereo, the volumes are much lower as compared to radio or satellite. Does anyone know how to increase the output beyond stock max values?

Sudden increase of issues, take a look please

I've noticed a rather sudden increase in issues with my phone... please read thru and see if you see any common stuff and recommend a possible solution PLEASE!

1) when I call people, they're not even receiving the call before it sends me to voicemail. they say they just get a missed call notification.

2) when people call me, it wont even ring sometimes. No notifications, either.

3) texts sometimes fail to arrive to my phone. My wife will text me half a dozen times over 10 minutes and I wont receive any.

4) when I am in a call, and someone calls me (call waiting), my phone will beep in my ear, but no on-screen indication of any kind appears saying I am receiving a call. This is happening with random people at random times.

I am stock rooted, no modifications (except a feature code that allows me to turn off my camera shutter sound, it spooks my dog).

I want to remain on Android 4.x because the app I use for tethering (Wifi Tether Router) doesn't work on Android 5.x and the developer doesn't want to try to help me get it to work.

Increase battery life by lowering screen resolution to 1080p

Here is a little tutorial I have put together for the upcoming Motorola Moto X Style (Pure Edition). The new Moto X comes with a Q-HD display. Though a higher resolution might be nice it does use more battery as well. With this simple guide you can force the GPU to render the OS and everything in it, in 1080p instead of Q-HD. The display will still be Q-HD but everything on the phone, including the full Android OS, will be displayed in 1080p. This will increase S.O.T and battery life noticeably.

Prerequisites:

1) A rooted device running stock/stock based ROM.

Increase ringing volume without root

I know maybe my question is repeated very often But I search a lot before posting this thread...
Xperia Z3 and Z2 has low ringing volume compared to the loudspeakers abilities..
with root the problem is solved by flashing a sound mod.. But I'm looking for a solution without root
maybe for an app.. for example in Galaxy devices have ascending ringtone problem... and there is an app called "Disable Increasing Ring" to fix it without root

Increase Bluetooth Mic Volume on Galaxy S4 Active I537

I have a Mocreo Clipper bluetooth headphone adapter that has low volume on the microphone on calls. it does work but I get complaints that callers can't hear me very well. I see several volume mods in the forums so I was wondering if there is a mod or app to boost it a little. I am running Kit Kat.

Chose the tab Hardware Testing
Click Audio

Here you can adjust the max volume output for different parts of the system, start with Normal Mode to set the max overall volume. Be careful with the values you set and take a screenshot if you need to restore your values...
