Increase volume steps in android 5.1.1

Up to android Kitkat I used the xposed module Volume Steps+ to alter the behavior of volume increments in the volume panel.

Now I'm on lollipop 5.1.1 and this module does not work anymore, there's lots of people having the same problem.
Over here I could read that it should be somewhere else in the framework.jar file.

The only way I know to change the jar file is to decompile it with baksmali.
So I can try if I can find the location where I need to change some values.

But I'm still looking for an xposed module or a stand-alone program to change the increment values.
I even want to try to write my own program but then I need to know how to change the framework.jar file from within the code (still need to decompile it one way or another or is there another way to change these values).

Can somebody give me a solution or put me in the right direction?

S-off to S-on (Purple tint) Are correct these steps?

Hi , I have a One (M7) and I'm planning to send it back to HTC in order to fix the purple tint problem.
I'm S-off and I want to Lock the bootloader and returning to Stock + S-on.

Step 0: -not in the previous thread link- I have hboot 1.57. Do I have to move to 1.44 ?

Step 1: let's get rid of TAMPERED (if it's there) and set you back to LOCKED (not relocked)
and confirm no TAMPERED and LOCKED status. (I have UNLOCKED status, so I'm only have to set it to LOCKED, isn't it?)


Step 2: Flash your RUU.zip
Download your MID & CID compatible RUU.zip: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-zip-downloads/
Rename the downloaded file to ruu.zip (careful about ruu.zip.zip in Windows)
(My mid is PN0710000 and cid= HTC__304 so I'll flash
RUU+Zip+M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A .13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed)
Do I need first to flash a stock splash?. Currently, I have Maximus 53 HD rom installed (with its own splash bootloader).


Step 3: if YOU decide to go S-On (Note: this should only be done for warranty or selling the phone, it is not needed for OTAs)
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
( with 1.44 hboot, doesn't exist the possibility of a TEMPERED boot loop, Is it right?)

I'm on Build 1545VRUFNK4 and 4.4.2> tried towelroot but says device is not supported (tired 3 times). Aslo could not get Kingoroot to work.

Increase Volume Steps on Lollipop?

Is there a way to increase the volume steps without installing xposed? I’m rooted and unlocked but I’d hate to install xposed primarily just for this.

ROOTING YOUR ORIGINAL STOCK ROM . . . (N920TUVU1AOGE)

STEP -1 -> OEM unlocking must be enabled: (Settings -> About -> Tap "Build number" 6 Times... now Settings -> Developer Options -> OEM unlocking



STEP 0 -> Make sure you already have the Samsung USB Drivers installed; if not... Download them from the link above and install them.

STEP 1 -> Unzip the ODIN File (Odin307.zip)

STEP 2 -> You will now have a program called Odin3 v3.07.exe... Run the program as Administrator (Right click, run as administrator) Once you open Odin3 v3.07.exe you will have a screen with only 1 checkmarks on it.

CUSTOM RECOVERY (TWRP RECOVERY)

STEP 3 -> NOW ON THE PHONE - Turn OFF Your Phone and Turn it back ON by pressing POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME button together at the same time. A Warning Screen will come up; press Volume Up button to enter DOWNLOAD MODE.

STEP 4 -> Now back to ODIN v.3.07, then click on PDA and browse for the file TWRP-2.8.7.1-Alpha_N920T.tar.md5.



>>> Now, If you are a 100% sure that your program looks like the picture above... Click START > > PHONE WILL REBOOT AFTER FLASHING RECOVERY . . .

-> You now have a Custom Recovery! (TWRP)

FLASHING CUSTOM KERNEL (You will be able to root your device with this Kernel)

STEP 5 -> Now turn OFF Phone Again... This time you are going to the recovery... (Not Download Mode) So basically after the phone is off, you just turn it on by pressing POWER + VOLUME UP + HOME button together at the same time.

-> You will see this... SEE PIC BELOW . . .



STEP 6 -> Now hit INSTALL (upper left) > then browse for the file Noble_Kernel_Auto-Root_N920T.zip.

And Swipe to Install...



Flashing is complete... now go BACK to TWRP's Main Menu again...

STEP 7 -> Now hit INSTALL again(upper left) > then browse for the file BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip.

And Swipe to Install...



Flashing is complete... DONE... Reboot... or...

go BACK to TWRP's Main Menu again... (If you want to flash External (OTG) Write Fix)

EXTERNAL SD CARD WRITE FIX (This will make the APPS like Root Explorer / Titanium Backup and any other;... able to WRITE to EXTERNAL SD CARD, NOT JUST INTERNAL)

> > > Make sure file AOGE_SD_Write_Fix_Mod_TEKHD.zip is in your Internal SD Card (Phone's Internal Memory < < < DO NOT UNZIP THIS FILE, SIMPLY COPY AND PASTE IT IN YOUR PHONE

STEP 8 -> Now turn OFF Phone Again... This time you are going to the recovery... (Not Download Mode) So basically after the phone is off, you just turn it on by pressing POWER + VOLUME UP + HOME button together at the same time.

-> You will see this... SEE PIC BELOW . . .



STEP 10 -> Now hit INSTALL (upper left) > then browse for the file AOGE_SD_Write_Fix_Mod_TEKHD.zip.

And Swipe to Install...

Exit Recovery... Reboot (System Option in TWRP)

-> DONE!!! Android is now Rooted with Custom Recovery plus External SD Card Write Fix!
