I love lg stock roms but love to have more control of the kernel and was hoping we could get a bounty to get a great kernel dev like dorimanx or if you guys have any other great devs in mind...G4 is a great device and I'm more than willing to donate if anyone is interested...Thanks!

[Q] Bootloader lock on US variant(s) of X Style?
Hi all :)
To put it short I'm trying to buy a Moto X Style from abroad, since the local Chinese variant might not be compatible with custom firmwares in the future.
Problem is, I've asked some resellers that claim to have the "US variant" for pre-order, but got the response that it has a bootloader lock that can't be unlocked. Before you ask, I know about the existence of Moto X Pure in the US, and understand that the Pure is easily unlockable, but it costs quite a premium here. I've also heard that there's *no* carrier variants of the X Style at all in the US, so it should be free from carrier influence.
So:
1) Is there a regular X Style alongside the Pure, or is there only the Pure on sale in the US?
2) If the answer to 1) is yes, is the Style's bootloader unlockable? If not, considering that there aren't carrier variants, why?

Any possibility to flash other variants' rom on Verizon Note5?
I'm using a unsubscribe Verizon note5 bought from Best Buy. But I am not in US, and I don't use the Verizon Network.
There is lots Verizon app on the phone, and it's totaly no use for me. The power of the phone is lossing very fast, even can't last for 1 day.
Since it's no way to root the phone for now , i'm wondering if it's possible to flash another official variant rom to it. Like T-mobile or AT&t ,even other countries'.
By the way, does the hardware of the diffrent carriers phone is total same?

(How To) Microphone Gain Increase on All S5 Variants
Well everybody, as it has been asked many times now so i bring you the guide to increase the ""Microphone Gain"" on lollipop.
You will need to make some changes to the mixer_paths.xml content located in system/etc.
Open in Notepad++ or editor of choice and search for <path name="rec-main-mic">.
See below for what to edit,be careful not to adjust more than the value stated.
Save and set permissions to 644 or rw-r-r then reboot.

Different variants in G4 - Hexa-core vs Quad and Dual core?
Hey, so I'm thinking of buying an LG G4 sim free and as I'm searching for them I'm coming across two different variations in quite a different price range too so I was wondering if they're the same -
One is this - http://www.valuebasket.com/en_GB/LG-...ew/18926-AA-RD
LG G4 Hexa-Core for around £325
However there is another one - http://www.valuebasket.com/en_GB/LG-...ew/19243-AA-BN
Which is dual and quad core priced at - £297 so I'm not to sure what to make of it?
Thanks

Lg G3 Vigor [Sprint/ATT Variants]
Ladies and gents: I'm working on getting a Vigor specific forum going since most of the ROMs and kernels in the G3 forums are not compatible.
We're working on getting stock images made available. If anyone would like to contribute them, please pm me and I'll tell you what to do.
We currently have a TWRP Recovery, which can be downloaded here.
We have root, using the method described by @avicohh, whose guide can be found here.
I have a TWRP Backup of all partitions other than /data and /cache, which can be found here. The backup is not zipped, so you can pull whatever specific image you need without having to grab the whole folder.
If you need to restore, pull the whole folder and place it in your TWRP/BACKUPS directory and then boot to recovery. This should be adb sideloadable and adb should be able to get you to TWRP if you have a bootloop and don't feel like screwing with time synchronized button presses.
I can also confirm that XPosed will work with no issues using the default install method.
We do NOT have a backup of the fully bloated and unrooted ROM or recovery. If someone wants to do this, do it before modding your phone. We should be able to dd the partitions using adb. You can get the drivers from @avicohh's root guide thread.
We also need to get a copy of the stock kernel. I've got what I believe is the stock kernel. I'll add the link here once it's uploaded.
I've submitted a request for a Vigor specific forum and we should know shortly whether it will happen. In the meantime, ROM requests, dev progress, etc. should be added here on this thread so as to not clutter up the Lg G3 main forum until the XDA team hooks us up with a forum.
I'd like any Devs who are familiar with LG to take a look at what we have so far, to see if anything that's been developed for other G3 models can be ported to our Vigor. If anyone has any questions, please ask them on this thread rather than PM'ing me. This will help out the community by sharing information more freely, and I hate checking PM.
The Sprint model is LG LS885. I don't have the model of the ATT variant.

Two variants? Which one am I getting if I ordered from Hong Kong?
The amazon listing said
"Octa Core 1.8+1.3GHz, 2Gb RAM, 32Gb storage, 4G, LTE, BT, NFC, Camera, Android 4.4.4)"
SM-G850FHSEBTU
Which is the Exynos edition.
However, I just found out that it's shipping from Hong Kong.
Further complicated by the fact that Amazon marketplace has bundled several sellers under this same listing, possibly incorrectly?
China gets the Snapdragon variant, apparently, so now I'm worried that I have the slightly less good one.
Any idea if I could still be getting the Exynos variant?
Amazon will help get me a refund if it's not, but still... hassle...
The seller name is wowcamera, who seem to be nobodies (but have fair reviews).
thanks guys
