Please Help a Noob Here

I've rooted my device a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 model#SM-217S unsuccessfully but can't get the SuperUser application to install properly. I used the Kingroot app to root it originally. Now I can't add the SU application. I can get into the TWRP recovery which I am assuming that it's been rooted.

Not sure what to do here at this point

Hi guys. I just came here today after being frustrated with a lot of apps/themes out there aren't exactly what I want, and started looking into doing it myself. Since its my first time here, i was wondering if you guys could give me some direction? What are some things that are a "must read" first? Can I make the theme on my computer FIRST and transfer to my device, or do i have to do it all in that tiny ass interface? What tools do i need if i do want to do it on my computer first? Must have apps, and software? and more "must reads? I'm on the mycolorscreen yt channel.. are there any others i need to watch? If this was answered somewhere I apologize, I tried the search function at the top.. but the keywords I was choosing were not helpful. I really appreciate any and all info you guys can help with.

Help, newbie here.

I know A LOT about iOS firmware and jail breaking. I just recently moved over to android and I am absolutely clueless. It seems that I have bought a non popular phone called a "Moxee X1" and there is no information about this phone on the internet. Could someone tell me more about this phone? I'm on android 4.4.2 and I'm wondering if I can root it.

Hi, I am in Australia and have just purchased a Moto X via ebay. Maybe that was not a good idea :rolleyes:

When attempting to call someone on my contact list, the phone automatically places a +1 in front of the number which then apparently tells my provider I am trying to make an overseas call. I am in fact, calling locally. The phone is seemingly doing the wrong thing.

I assume that there is a setting that tells the phone in which country it is set for - in this case, it seems to be the USA - +1 is the USA prefix and the phone always wants to call the USA.

Can anyone assist please by advising as to how I can remove this setting in the phone so it will not automatically want to place the +1 in front of the local number?

So, let's say I've install a custom ROM for my Xperia L (C2105). Can I revert back to original ROM by installing the official firmware? Thanks if anyone answered.

A little help here for someone who is starting in the modification world :D

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to this modification world, started when I received my Zenfone 2 out of necessity since ZenUI is very poluted and ended up enjoying it :P

So, right now I'm using SuperZen (super basic) just to get rid of the endless bloatware that comes with the phone... my question is: what is the best overall rom right now for someone who is starting and want something very clean?

Other thing, the double tap feature still working in these others roms or just in stock? Cant live without it, I came from LG G2 and I cant stand at clicking the power buttom anymore... I know that sounds idiotic but is really cool to have this feature...

Ever since I bought a Galaxy Nexus and found XDA, my life changed. Without noticing I got infected a virus: addiction to Android.
My Nexus got outdated quickly and now is pretty done and I need a new toy. 3,5 years later I finally got some spare money to buy a new phone. Since here in Portugal the minimum wage is around 500€ and top flagship phones cost around 700€ (and there's no affordable contract to get something cheaper and still nice), I had to wait until now to get a used Note 3 for 300€.
I love the phone's design and above all the specs. There's no other phone with 3GB RAM and Snap 800 for this price and I always liked big sized phones.
Well, I write too much unnecessary info... I need to stop :D
Let's get down to the point. I will get the phone tomorrow!!

TL;DR
How do I check the bootloader version? I want to flash TWRP right away and maybe install a Note4/5 port or something stock Android, do I need to be careful with the bootloader?
I know from other phones (i.e LG G2) that any custom rom uses KK bootloader and the stock roms use their respective version bootloader. Is this also true for the Note?
Also, which version of TWRP should I flash? Does it depend on the stock rom version that I have?
Checking if the device has 2.3x GB of available RAM, if Odin and Recovery have their stock aspect and if the S-Pen works is enough to ensure that the Note I'm getting is truly original?

Well, that's all. I'm sorry if I'm asking the same questions everyone does. I'm used to Nexus so I'm afraid of bricking the Note with dumb moves. That's why I am taking my time to read every important thread and asking here some doubts that went into my mind while doing the required reading. I have no warranty (no box nor invoice) so I can't afford to mess up with the new babe :D

New Note 5 Owner Here

Y'all are looking at the owner of a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 64 GB in the black. After spending about 4 hours with it I've come to really love this phone. I am coming from spending almost 2 years of a great experience with Windows Phones and if it wasn't for "Big Red" being the only carrier that works at my family's cabin I would probably switch to AT&T to stick with a Windows phone. Unfortunately that left me with 2 choices go to an iPhone which was alright for me in the past or go to an android phone which I have had bad experiences with in the past (note 2, Droid razr m, stratosphere ). Well I chose the Note 5 to try to change my experience with android devices and so far I'm glad I did. Even though if it wasn't for me dropping my Lumia Icon 25 feet onto the ground while hanging a treestand the other day I would still be using it instead of this brand new Note 5.

Hello, i'm new in this forum and i haven't flashed so many roms before.

they use flashfire to install lollipop rooted rom into G870A devices.

but i have a problem, i followed the steps to receive flashfire beta on my device but i never got it, i asked in g+ page to someone to share me the apk containing flashfire beta (the version that is required to do this), but he said me i have to change the date of my phone to july 1st because the app does not open at all, and it is true, by changing the date i was able to open the app, but i;m not sure about using it because i thing it is not the right version and i thing i can damage my device.

Can i use twrp instead? or is it safe to use the apk he shared to me?

How to upgrade rooted Note 3 from 4.4.2 to current (Newbie here)

TL;DR Help a newbie with upgrading my rooted Note 3 from 4.4.2 to a more current version please. I'm old and dumb and really tried to find an answer before embarrassing myself on a forum of experts. Knowing me, the answer is probably right under my nose. Go easy on me <3

I used the search function on this site and on google but was unable to find what I'm looking for.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with T-Mobile. I have Android aversion 4.4.2 and my model number is SM-N900T.

I rooted my phone using a guide I found on youtube to get superuser for the purpose of being able to play emulators on my phone, such as Snes9x EX+, Nostalgia.NES Lite, ePSXe, etc. They all work great. I am not using a custom ROM.

The problem I'm facing is that I don't understand if I need to unroot (correct term?) my phone and just get the auto updates, or to download and install them manually, but I'm unable to receive auto updates over the air as I'm sure you guys would know since this is your hobby and are versed in this sort of thing. I don't even know how to do either really properly but am not afraid to try.

The reason I'm wanting to upgrade now (which might be completely unrelated) is that I haven't been receiving text messages from either my sister or my roommate, whom both of their last messages were received by me on Aug. 5th. I tried contacting my carrier and they said they didn't detect a problem. Both of their carriers said the same thing (one being T-Mobile as well). I guess this is just another step in troubleshooting but I would like to believe this is a network issue.

Any advice would help and would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hello xda forum. I recently joined this comunity. Heard of it on a youtube video by C4AEtech in the same day that I have rooted my phone - Samsung galaxy note 3 SM-N9005.

Please dont be hars on me, I dont know where to post, so if I'm in the wrong category please move my topic, i'll learn from mistakes.

Since I'm new to rooting and dont wanna do anything by my own cuz there are risks and dont want to intentionally burry my phone, I would like some guidance.

Basicly I have some questions

-I play this game called Taichi Panda and I lagg really hard sometimes, and yeah, my phone has 3gb ram and a strong cpu. With my old phone I had an octa core with 1gb ram and it was same. The issue here is that my old phone was running at 720p and note3 at 1080p . Is there something that I can do to switch my graphics from 1080p to 720p ? (only to this game) I want to record and make some youtube videos and I'd like to be lagg free for extra video quality. The difference between 720p and 1080p is not that big of a deal, and if it helps my game to run lagg free it will be great. P.S. I play only on wifi and I have 50mbs up and down.

-I saw here something about custom roms and kernels. I dont know what are those, but I want to improve my phone in a good way and get the most of it. I would like it to run well, not to lagg somethimes, not to freeze and stuff. I'd like to OC my CPU to a safe limit (what I saw is about 2.7 ghz). I would also like something custom that will improve my phone to perform better.

Offtopic: Recently my phone had some problems (before root). When I plug it it for charging , sometimes it doesnt charge at all and sometimes it charges for 1 sec than for next 2 sec it doesnt and so on. I dont know if its my battery fault of my charger, mabye I have killed it with that game :) Could you recommand me a program where I can see my battery life remaining ?

Any tip and tricks are welcome, I'm opened to any suggestions. I just want my phone to run better and this comunity just rocks -been searching for stuff in past days but cant do anything on my own.

I just got htc wildfire s i managed to get it rooted and install some cwm version.For some reason i can't install any rom it might be cuz i don't have s-off can someone help me do it i tried some tutorials from here but nothing happens like EVER.I tried to update the phone but it just get stuck at some android logo >.>.

Noob idiot here need help

Ok I dont know the fancy terms so please bear with me as I explain what I did.
I wanted to root my note 4 I downloaded odin v 3.07 and followed the "easy" online steps.
so it did its thing odin said pass then the phone started resetting this just looped and looped. so I tried and tried again and no success . I factory wiped the phone and still nothing, I fear I bricked this thing can someone help me I feel like a complete idiot. Thanks
