Battery overheating.

Today I was driving while using google maps and had the phone plugged in to the car charger.

I knew the battery was going to get hot especially with the sun warming up the dashboard. When I arrived, I opened up the battery information from the dialer. The battery temperature showed it was 47.5C. This seems way too hot. The status also said overheat.

Did I damage the battery? What can I do? How do I drive with my phone using navigation, while charging it, and keeping it cool?

Hello everyone
Yesterday I received my Moto X pure Edition, after 3 hour of charge I transfer all of my files and stuff from my old Nexus 5. After a few minutes of use I noticed that the phone started to overheat excessively (110 farenheit) and the battery only lasted 3 hours, I did a complete reset of the phone but the same result overheat after 15 minutes of use.
I replaced/updated the play services software and same thing.
Someone has the same problem???
Please Advice...

Has the overheating problem been solved?

I broke my z1 today after 23 months of use and now I need a new phone fast (today!!). So is z3+ really worth buying? :rolleyes: Or z3?

This phone has the specs of an absolute beast and is really cheap, I want to buy it but have seen many different views on the overheating issue, I would like to know if it has indeed been fixed or if its a real problem? Thanks

Z3+ Still Overheating Post Update

Hi all,

I've just picked a Z3+ and was hoping the update had resolved the heat issues. Sadly not.

The phone is always hot, not warm, hot. I've got nothing running in the background and even just using text, maps or music is causing extreme heat problems. In the camera, same thing. I don't care about the AR Mask, but I don't to use the standard camera for more than 5 pictures at a time. The 4K video works, but the heat is ridiculous. How Sony let this release is beyond me.

Anyway, to the point. Is there something I can do to reduce the heat? I don't want to root or install another ROM really. Ideally I would like it swapped out if this is not an issue for other Z3+ users.

Has anyone continued to have issues after the update to 28.0.A.8.251?

Can future development with kernels Solve the Overheating 810

i have the invite ,but not yet sure to buy it or not..i know there is a lot of development thats gonna happen for this device..
Just want to if the heating issues of 810 can be solved with a good custom kernel in future?

Overheating question: is that normal?

I'm using Z3+ with latest firmware on it (downloaded it with wi-fi). I've mentioned terrible thing, as i suppose. When I browse internet, and watch youtube while charging the phone, the average processor temperature is 55-60, but it sometimes rises to 76 and than drops down.

Tell me please, is that normal temperature for the phone processor? Won't it harm the processor or another phone components?

S6 Edge+ Overheating? (And battery issue)

Hi, on my s6 edge+ the temperature stated by HW Monitor says 55C (131F) , and sometimes rises to 70C (158F) then drops back to 55C (131F) or 45C (113F). I got it from Dubai and I am using it in the UK. It is the G928C model. Is this normal/is anyone else having this issue? Should I try factory resetting it and erasing all data?

Also the second problem is that I feel the battery runs out quick! Does anyone else feel like this? It only lasts about 14-15 hours from full 100% charge to empty battery. And I'm only using apps such as youtube, instagram, messenger, facebook.

S5 Overheating

Hi all, I have recently experience overheating problems in my S5 and my battery last 4 hours at most, I've read that this maybe happening after Lollipop update but I've update mine like 3 weeks ago and never had this issue until yesterday. Do you know what to do?.

Overheating while Video recording, Navigating and Charging

Hi all,

Did any one notice overheat while
1. Video Recording
(recorded video for 8 mins (with tripod) when i touch the phone it feels like >95 F)
2. Google maps
(used google maps for about 15 mins, it feels like > 90 F)
3. Fast charging (wired)
(gradually heating to max 95 F)

Overheating Issue? Something Else?

Anybody know what would cause the note 4 to randomly reboot itself? I odined back to stock lollipop after being on the infamous rom and still didn't fix the issue. Could the motherboard be overheating to make it reboot? It doesn't get too hot that you can't touch it just a noticeable heat. No issues before just one day it started to randomly reboot every 4 minutes or so.
