Help in Porting To Cyanogen

Hey, Guys
im a total noob in programming and stuff :silly:
but im very much interested in mobiles and technology
I wanted to port Cyanogenmod to my htc desire 826(only china and india release, so i figured there will be no further updates from htc :( )
I saw many guides for noobs :p but they said base rom shouldnt be stock, and please correct me if i am wrong that port rom should be pure
So if base rom shouldnt be stock then i cant use the rom in htcdev
and it is written any other rom(cyanogen?) for same soc(snapdragon 615) and resolution(1920X1080)
there is no rom available like that the closest i found was but the rom there itself is for both the 720p and 1080p resolution( project tomato just made the account so outside links restricted :p )
also different manufacturer
Please guys help me it will be much appreciated
Also too I have been following xda for a long time
Also which method should i follow??

Guys i really like all this stuff can you please tell me where should i start learning it and to understand android code

I tried lock bootloader, still not work, only phone did not start up, so I again unlock bootloader with code what flashtool readed from it.

I have no experiences with this, do I need anything else except lock bootloader to stock firmware work? Like is needed reflash some boot.img etc?

Updated HDX 8.9 to a new Cyanogen nightly, and soft-bricked. In Recovery mode...

What do I do to avoid permanently bricking this?

Story: Had Cyanogen mod installed on my HDX 8.9"; everything was rosy. Cyanogen kept pestering me with new nightly updates; thought "why not? can't cause any harm now everything's sorted!" Lo and behold, it soft bricked the device. Managed to recover to TWRP. What are my steps from here to get back to the Cyanogen ROM I had before, where everything was perfect (yes, I'm an idiot)?

For what is used this recovery image that Cyanogen released with last two S3 roms? Is this recovery flashable via Odin?

How to flash:

-Download the kernel you need and rename the file boot.img

-Put it in your fastboot folder (where you have fastboot.exe located) on your PC.

-Boot into fastboot mode (power + volume up) and connect your phone to your PC via usb cable.

-Open a command prompt from within your fastboot folder (shift + right click, select open command prompt here).

-Issue this fastboot command:

It'll take a few seconds to flash the boot.img, once it's finished you can manually reboot your phone or use the following command to reboot it:

Cyanogen OS 12.1 one OPO - No LTE

Hello,

I've searched the forums and google like crazy trying to find a solution that actually works. I'm on Rogers network (Canada). When connected to WiFi, all is good. Without WiFi all I can do is text/call - no LTE = no mobile internet.

The only thing I've been able to find is to do the following:

My problem is that this solution doesn't work. I've reset my phone twice now as well. Did not restore from back up either time. Cannot get this to go away and it's driving me nuts.

My APN is set correctly. All settings say it should work but it doesn't. I've never changed my modem. Is that a step I can do?

Cyanogen recovery usable?

Hi all,

what is the difference between TRWP 2.8.x.x and the Cyanogen Recovery? I'm wondering because I see nightly recovery images for my device (XT1072) at http download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=nightly&device=thea (cannot yet post URLs) but none of the "How to install CyanogenMod" type documents mention the cm-recovery at all.

Thinking of flashing Cyanogen but have a lingering questions

Currently I'm using Android evolution. It's a popular rom, no complaints. I installed it after I was unable to get my phone to boot normally so... other than performance improvements, it's not a major upgrade over my stock install.

However, more and more I've been thinking of trying out the cyanogen operating system. One thing is getting at me though. The Android evolution ROM was over a gigabyte in size when installed.

Looking at the latest cyanogen release for the m7, it's about 260mb. What gives? Is it simply a case that it lacks applications and I'll have to install them all one by one?

On CyanogenMod there is also kernel. Maybe is enough to try this kernel with other ROMs here, but don't know it this can work or not. Can some developer confirm if this mix can be stable and work? Or shoudln't we try it?

Panasonic P81 (Clone of Coolpad 7320) Cyanogen Custom ROM

I own a Panasonic P81 phone which I rooted and I have installed custom MiUi 4.12.5 v5-6 ROM. After installing I realized that my phone heats up a lot and multi-tasking is no more possible. Available RAM has decreased and now I have even lost superuser rights. I tried finding cyanogen for my device but was unsuccessful. I wished some developer could breach into the existing versions of cyanogenmod and make them compatible to my phone somehow. Or maybe help me out with the existing issues on my phone. I am obsessed with customizability and wish to run the phone perfectly normal. Language in the settings irritate me at times for some features. English needs to be there everywhere.
Please help me out, developers!

Cyanogen 12.1 brightness bug??

Hello! I just updated my Oneplus one to cyanogen 12.1 through OTA update..I haven't rooted my device(yet)
There's a little brightness bug, whenever I scroll the brightness increases for a split second..I tried turning off adaptive brightness and enhance colour option but it didn't resolve anything..
If you could help me with it, that'd be great:)
