Made The Switch From Verizon to T-mobile...

I just switched from the Note 4 on Verizon to the Note 5 on T-mobile; New phone expected to arrive tomorrow.

One thing I saw mentioned here and there about the T-mobile Service is this "Advanced Messaging Service." There is limited information I could find, no real Videos demoing or discussing the feature, but a couple blog post here and there making mention of it.

Has anyone used this feature on the Note 5; If so, how does it function, does it function well, is there any lag between sending and receiving messages, does the Live Presence indication actually work ("Bob is typing" etc.) Any kind of information or feedback on this "Feature" would be appreciated.

Also what is your experience with the WiFi calling? Does it truly sound like HD Voice quality? Any issue switching for WiFi calling to 4G (walking out of the home does the call drop when switching to 4G coverage?)

S6 Bricked - Smart Switch Serial Number issue

My son attempted to root his S6 with Odin and failed. His phone is SM-G920R7 (nTelos) and there are no compatible roms - but that didn't stop him from trying. So we are got the "An error has occurred updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." So, downloaded that, went to the software update and initialization section to try to reinstall the factory software. It takes the Model number (above), but then asks for the serial number. I've tried both IMEI# on the back and any other numbers I can come up with. No luck.

I called the carrier and Samsung and each of them told me to call the other. Does anyone know what "serial number" (technically s/n: is the prompt) they want? Thanks.

It seems at this point that the software is only trying to validate that the serial number exists - the phone is not connected to the computer. But entering any of the numbers mentioned above only lead to an error stating the serial number is not valid.

Any help would be great. Thanks

I have tested it with this version, Android-x86 4.4-r3 EFI image

The Live version works.

I would now like to create a dual boot on your hard drive.
Unfortunately without success!

When starting Windows and Android me appears.
Windows can I boot, Android not.

2 problems i have :

1- in my previous phones i could do this with only clicking in the white point and go directly in the window...
but couldn't in my note 5 so if i will have 7 or more so how to switch diretly from 1 to 7 for example.

2- they removed even when you switch to the next of the last window...in my note 2 the next window of the last window is the first window but in note 5 it blocks in the last window so you must go back

please if anyone have a solution please tell me...don't like this thing

How can i avoid the kill switch?

I have my old Nvidia shield tablet and i have WiFi off and powered off.

I've been reading you can stop the kill switch from i guess changing the boot loader or operating system?

I new to this stuff.

Could someone just give me some directions on how to go threw this process please.

I don't know if it's to late cause i have the most recent update? but like i said it's turned off and WiFi is off and i heard that the kill switch is sent over the internet to your device and you don't have to confirm it.
So i hope my system is safe until i can do what ever you guys advise me to do.

[Q] Smart Switch does not connect to my phone after installing CM 12.1

Hey,
I created a backup using Samsung Smart Switch for my Galaxy note 4 (SM-N910F), which went perfectly fine. Then I went ahead and installed CM 12.1S on said phone. Everything is still fine. However, when trying to reconnect my phone with the Smart Switch on my PC in order to restore the backup, the program says something like:
"Non-compatible device"
"The connected device is not supported by Smart Switch"

Now my questions would be:
a) Is there a trick I can use to make Smart Switch connect to my phone again?
b)Is there a different program I can use that is able to restore the backup that Smart Switch created?

How to switch ROM? From Lollipop back to stock, help!

I am running stock right now (JB 4.2.2) and I am planning to flash a Lollipop ROM (AICP 10). If I create a backup (for my stock ROM) at TWRP and did the needed measures to flash the Lollipop ROM and was successful however I want to return to stock ROM. Do I just have to factory reset and restore my stock ROM backup to have a stock ROM again? Sorry for this noob question.

i recently rooted my Galaxy S4 verizon SCH-I545 5.0.1 My main reason for doing so is because i want to install CM12 (to improve battery and no bloatware) but need to back up my stock ROM before wiping anything, so i can restore if anything gets messed up but when i installed CWM via ROM manager app , i booted in recovery only to discover that i didn't have the option to back up my stock ROM...nothing that says "back up and restore" or anything remotely close...so after alot of reading a searching it looks like TWRP was the one that most suggested for my phone. My question is, can i just use Flashify and flash TWRP over the existing CWM?? will this mess anything up or brick my phone??? please help and excuse my ignorance

[Q] Bad power switch - stuck in recovery

I have a brand new Note 4 that had the power switch fail after one month.

T-Mobile has sent me a replacement, so I performed the factory reset data wipe on the old one. My next step was to use Odin to re-flash the stock firmware. I was previously running stock KitKat, but had used CF-auto-root.

After selecting the factory reset option from settings, it rebooted into recovery. One of the options is Wipe Data/ Factory Reset, but I can't select it because the power button doesn't work.
Taking the battery out just brings it back to the same place.

There is also a message "dm-verity verification failed" at the bottom of the screen.

The device is not enumerating on USB at all so I can't use ADB, fastboot, or Odin.

How can I escape recovery to complete the data wipe and get into download mode?

Cannot Switch to LTE

I apologize if this question has been asked before. The XDA search engine has been down here for two or three days, and I got tired of waiting.

I recently switched to an old I317 I had in a drawer(used to be my wife's) after my phone broke. I wiped it and did a clean flash of the latest ResurrectionRemix LP ROM. The ROM is working flawlessly, except for one thing: it won't connect to LTE. I am using the "phone" APN, with all the correct settings(I'm not new to this). With the "Preferred Network Type" set to "3G", I can get a decent H+ connection, but when I try to switch in that menu to "LTE (recommended)", nothing happens. It doesn't even select it; it just stays set to 3G.

Has anyone else run into this problem? If it's a common problem, is there an easy fix?

3 people in my family bought this phone, and one of them has this problem, home and task switcher buttons stopped working, i don't know if it can be a software issue or if we have to call asus for repair.

Erasing tablet of accounts/settings after removing kill switch?

Hey guys/girls, could anybody please tell me the best way of erasing personal info and "almost" going to factory settings but still retain the erased kill switch?

I'm on stock lollipop OS rooted with TegraOTA.apk deleted, but I have stock recovery, and do not wish to flash lollipop again so what ever is the easiest way without any chance of being stuck in situations requiring reflashing etc.

I noticed a backup and restore options in settings app, so maybe that's where to start?

Switch from CM12.1 to MIUI 5.8.22 on Mi3

I changed from miui 6 stable to cm12.1 recently. At first I loved it, but later I realized that I miss a lot of miui features that are not readily available in CM12.1, such as notes, compass, blocklisting messages, private messages, scanner, and a lot more. Maybe some features that I claimed were missing are present in CM12.1 but I never found them. So can anybody teach me how to switch from CM12.1 to MIUI 5.8.22 developer build? Thanks.
