First time poster, so if I do anything incorrectly I'm sorry. A few days ago I rooted my SCHi605 Verizon Note 2 on 4.1.1 using Odin. The root worked, but now I have no data. I've been searching the internet madly trying to find a solution. I've even reinstalled the rooted stock rom. If anyone can help me I'd be much indebted. I'm losing my mind! Please let me know if there is anymore information I can provide.

Unable to Access Recovery Mode
Hello,
I was trying to flash a custom recovery onto my Galaxy S4 but it failed because whenever I try to access recovery mode now, there's an error on the top left in red saying "SECURE FAIL: KERNEL" and the text "Start Up Failed" ... "Your device didn't start up successfully. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device."
I'm still able to access the other parts of my phone, I just want to get into a custom recovery so that I can install CyanoGenMod, but it's proving difficult. I'm even wondering if my approach is wrong? The directions on youtube or most sites don't seem to be working.
Thanks for any help.

[Tutorial] WiFi FTP access files
WiFi FTP access files
I am a follower of the principle "Keep it simple and easy to understand for others".
I hope this tutorial to be simple, but surely access files will be more simple.
This tutorial refers to connecting your phone with your PC via WiFi FTP.
In this way there will be no need to use USB cable to transfer files.
You need:
- WinSCP (for Windows) - it is free, I use it portable, or another FTP application.
- Nalic.app.wifishare-2.5.5.apk - free
- Root Browser or X-plore - or anyway, a browser that can access the system files on your phone.
Procedure
Download Nalic.app.wifishare.apk and install it on your phone.
Open Nalic.app.wifishare.apk
Attachment 3478359
Download WinSCP and open it.
Enter the address and port, as indicated your Nalic.app.wifishare (not mine).
And if the connection is done correctly, you will see files on your SDCard.
If you want to access other folders on your phone, go to Nalic - Settings (upper left)
- Stay in folder -> then click on Custom and choose a different folder. Then restart Nalic and reconect win FTP application.
Attachment 3478361 Attachment 3478362
Notes:
To access the system files, the phone must to be rooted.
If your phone is not rooted, you can access only external SDCard files.
If you can not copy the system files from your PC to phone, then you can copy them initially to SDCard and then with Root Browser (or other apk) Copy - Paste in the system folder.
I hope this tutorial to be useful.

Fastboot / TWRP installed, NO OS, NO USB access
I can boot in bootloader and recovery (TWRP 2.6.3.1), Win7 drivers+adb+fastboot are installed properly since I have 2 Nexus 5 and 1 is working fine (I can see the device with "fastboot devices").
There is NO OS installed, I can not connect via USB, and I can not mount the USB-OTG (tried with the working phone and it work fine).
In TRWP when try to reboot it tells me that "the device does not appear to be rooted" but the device has been rooted.
When it boot into the bootloaded, I have a window popping with the yellow triangle, than disapears, (USB device not recognized)
There is nothing in the device manager.
In bootloader I have: variant D820H, HW rev: rev_11, bootloader:HHZ12h, secure boot:enabled,Lock state:unlocked
How do I revive the phone to transfer a rom since I can not use USB-OTG or USB connection, is there a cmd I can run on the phone via terminal to enable the USB (/data is empty).
Thanks

Phone stuck in TWRP, can't access download mode after factory reset
Hello all,
My Samsung Galaxy Note II is stuck in TWRP 2.8.7 after I did a factory reset.
I initially followed this guide (wiki dot cyanogenmod dot org/w/Install_CM_for_t0lte) to install CM, which worked fine. I ran into a slight issue and decided I'd try to flash again as it was pretty easy. Turned out to be a mistake as I can't seem to do anything right now and am stuck in TWRP. Every combination of button and reboots I try just bring me back into TWRP. Plugging the phone in the computer recharges the battery, but the computer (running Windows 7) does not recognize the phone. ADB doesn't detect any device.
I tried a few times to reinstall the roms, to no avail as I was unable to boot into anything else than recovery. I then followed some guide and accidentally wiped the roms from the phone. As stated above, I can't access the phone through ADB so I am unable to push them back on the phone.
Please help, I would be immensely grateful. Thanks to all in advance.

Restricted access changed. Voice service is blocked error?
I've been using my droid turbo perfectly fine on Family Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO). And was having no issues. Then this morning I noticed that error in the statusbar and I have no service at all. The imei is clean and I just checked it. Any ideas why its doing it or how to fix? I attached a screenshot of the error.
Access Lock or Similar
On my LG G3, I can go into "access lock" and manage the permissions that each application has. This allows me to say which applications that use location services, which ones can keep the phone awake, which ones can use vibration, etc. I cannot get to that on my Samsung devices. Does anyone know of a solution to manage individual application permissions without root? Thanks in advance.
Host files to block access to web sites
We all know firewalls are fantastic to block apps getting out onto the net and doing damage, but that is not a great help when some times you have to allow access to an app internet access, but that opens the worry on where the apps go (like the Android system download agent on oem roms)
Host files can block access to websites and ipaddress you don't want your device to connect to.
Like google, Facebook, utube, ad sites, and government/financial institutions.
What you block on your host file blocks access to that website for every app on your device
Maybe here we can share the places we like to block.
Myself I start with an app like adaway from fdroid
Get the recommended downloads and then ad things.
Like
#Begin code block
127.0.0.1 localhost
# ALWAYS make sure "127.0.0.1 localhost" is the first line in your /hosts file
# or your system or browser may malfunction!
# See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file to find the standard locations
# of the HOSTS file for your particular OS. In Linux (and probably BSD), it's
# usually under /etc/hosts
# Yes, I know there are some redundant entries in this block--you can grep it
# and remove them yourself if it really matters. I'm too lazy to do it myself.
# Redistribute and republish freely!
#first, let's redirect English google.com search to Startpage

Adaway is great because you can ad your own items to the black list and if you need to you can ad things to a white list if you find your favorite site is not working anymore
Please share other sites that could be included in a host file.
Get the recommended downloads and then ad things.

how to access the data on a pattern locked phone with a broken and un responsive scrn
I'm trying to access the data on a Galaxy S4 on which the screen is not working at all(no backlight and doesn't respond to touch). the data I mainly require is the contacts.db file. what I have tried sofar: NOTE: USB Debugging is disabled .
1. tried to access the data via USB but cant access the content due to the lock on the phone.
2. tried to access the data with KIES but once again failed to do so due to the lock on the phone.
3. Downloaded the ADB shell and installed the required USB drivers but cant access the phone, when running the command "adb devices" it says no devices found which I think is because the USB Debugging setting on the phone is not enabled.
4. Also tried to sync with the Google account but unfortunately it was not setup to sync contacts with the Google account.
5. Tried to make use of apps such as MoboRobo and Droid Explorer but it does not work due to the USB Debugging that is disabled
Some other suggestions were to get another S4 and connect its screen to the one in question which I'm sure will work but is there no other way to access the data or to somehow remove the pattern lock from the phone? maybe using another platform to gain full access to the phone or anything?

Can't access Recovery Mode Options - ZenFone 2
Hi everyone,
After I receive one notification for update the system the battery was over and the zenfone 2 didnt boot anymore. I get into fastboot mode but I cannot access the options for recovery mode (factory reset, install from adb, ). I just have a few lines in the end of the screen:
E:file path:/tmp/last_install
until
E:file path:/sdcard/MODF_SUPDATE.zip
After that I read lots of information from the internet (Im not an expert in Android) and I figure out that my zenfone have firmware SKU CN. Then after read how to change CN to WW I install Intel USB Driver for Android Devices and I made the fastboot flash (droidboot.img, recovery.img and boot.img) commands to change recovery mode to WW (Z00A.2.20.40.59) and now I need to install the firmware UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.59-user.zip. The problem, as I said before, I dont have access to Recovery Mode Options to, for example, install new firmware using adb (adb sideload UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.59-user.zip) command. Now when I make a normal boot it stops after a little bit of Installing system update and showing android symbol.
Anyone could HELP, PLEASE?
Thanks

Zenphone 2 bootloop , cant access recovery mode nor fastboot nor adb
Hello Guys
After doing deep search on this forum and try several unsuccessful solutions (recover mode, fast boot...). I decide to create new thread.
Symptom : A boot loop on Android Upgrade (There are 7 updates to apply).
I think, I know the cause but every solution found on this forum didn't succeed.
Here is what I have done to be in this situation :
Everything was ok, since I noticed "Asus Start Manager" needed to update but was not compatible with my device. Strange isn'it.:cowboy:
So I've undertaken to restore frozen and removed app from app master. It asked me to restart and then, my 7 restored app seems to involve a big mess.
And now I can't Boot. NOte that android upgrade wants to suprisingly update 7 optimisations.
My next idea is to acces directly internal storage to remove 7 apk provoking boot loop.
Do you have better idea because if I remove internal storage, wararnty will be canceled and in addition I have no guaranty I'll able to read it.:crying:
Further more I hesitate to send it to vender since my device is rooted:confused:. They will answer it's my fault, and it's true sic !
As you understand I 'm quite desperate . IF someone can help me I'd be so grateful.
Thanks everybody and sorry for my english :)

- I tried to access recevey mode ( Power+Up, then release up ). --> When I release Up after vibration, I don't enter into recovery mode.
- I tried to access my phone through fastboot or adb but, I have following message : "Wait for device". No detection so
Here is what I have done to be in this situation :
- I've rooted my phone (thanks to forum explanations) --> No Problem
- Installed this bull**** app "App Master" to freeze or put bloatware into trash (recoverable)
