Can I modify a stock android version to run on any smartphone?

[Q] Is possible to modify (include app) stock ROM and flash it w/o root?

Hi Guys!
I am looking for this thing for a while... but i didn´t find anything clear about it, so i hope someone could help me with this...
My idea is to modify my phone´s stock ROM a little bit (just to include an app - called Cerberus) without rooting it.
Can i download the stock ROM (from samsung), extract its contents and modify it and then put them back into tar.md5 to flash with odin?
If it is possible where can i find a good reference for doing this?

Modify app timer/alarm

I'm on CM 12.1, so android 5.1. There's an app that I use that checks for updates every hour, but I want it to do so more often, but since there's no option to do so I must find the alarm/timer set by the app and modify it, like you can do with Amplify. Since I don't want to install xposed, is there a way to accomplish this?

Hey all,

So I've been looking for the answers to this, and the kitchens don't seem to work out for various reasons. What guides I found are incomplete, and rather old. I'm hoping someone can help me with what I need to do to modify my stock rom.

My device: T-mobile LG G3 (D851)

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

My goals:

Deodex
Debloat (some)
Root (so I don't have to upon reflash)
Zipalign (on boot possibly? not sure how it would impact things)

thinking about init.d support, but I don't know quite what I would do with that.

So I'm basically trying to mess around and learn a little bit, and I'd really appreciate if someone could help me out doing this manually. I have windows installed, and I have debian on my laptop, so either environment is accessible to me.
