SGH i337M suddenly doesn't read SIM and has no popups.

So I recently sold my SGH i337m and the customer has been messaging me telling me that absolutely nothing happens when he inserts his SIM card. No popup saying no sim detected, nothing. When he goes to settings > more networks > mobile networks there's a pop-up that asks him to "insert sim card", and that's about it.

I know for a fact I sold him the phone WORKING as I made sure multiple times to test the phone with my SIM card and everything worked before I sold it to him.

I've been troubleshooting with him but unfortunately I have not come to a solution yet.

Things I have tried:
 1. Remove battery & SIM then put back in

 2. Reboot in safe mode

 3. Wipe cache in recovery mode menu

 4. Wipe data/factory reset in recovery mode menu

 5. Insert another person's SIM (still no pop up, even when he uses a SIM from a locked company, it doesn't even ask for the unlock pin)

I'm hoping some of you guys have a solution because I've been looking all over the internet and no solutions have worked thus far.

Thanks in advance!

Text message pop-ups gone?

I am probably one of the rare few that actually like the text message pop-up/preview when receiving a message. If I'm using another app or playing a game it enabled me to quickly reply without stopping what I was doing to go to the messaging app.

For some reason the pop-ups no longer work (I'm not sure they ever have since I got my G4). I have checked and unchecked the options in messaging settings several times, cleared cache and data of messaging app, rebooted, set lock screen to show all notifications etc. Even after doing all that the pop-up still does not show. All I get is the sound and the message symbol in the notification bar.

My phone is rooted, and I used the build prop edit to enable all apps in dual window. Other than that I haven't messed with anything else. Can someone give me an idea how to fix this? Is anyone else having the same problem? I really hope I can get it figured out without having to factory reset or something.

Google Play App Update Popups

Having hunted for a thread about this and coming up empty handed, I've decided to ask it myself. Recently (within the past three months I would say) Google updated the Play Store to give you these popups on the bottom of the screen for whenever an app is auto-updated inviting you to back the app up. These popups take up about a third of the screen on my new Note 5; it was far worse on my old galaxy nexus. Furthermore, the popup will close the keyboard and change the focus of the screen, meaning that in order to get back to composing a message you must do three things: wait for this unnecessary notification to go away, then tap the screen so the focus goes back to the app you were using, and tap again inside your text box. If the app you were using is particularly sloppy, this loss of focus might actually also clear the text field.

Even if you're not doing anything important however, a sudden popup that takes up a third of the screen is enough to send you to the loony bin if you react the way you would like to and you're in a public place. Now, there is no setting available in the play store related to this. The popups contain a check box that allows you to specify "never show again," but short of waiting until I intercepted each and every last one of them for each and every last auto updated app, there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of these horrible things. I could possibly disable all notifications from the play store through the apps menu in the settings, but that would be counter productive. Has anyone managed to get rid of this awful feature? And is there anyone that we can hang for coming up with that idea in the first place? After all, one of the best things about notifications on Android (at least previously) is that they specifically DON'T interrupt you; they're up there in the notification panel where they belong!

OG5 annoying Play Store Pop-ups

I am on stock, unrooted, OG 5. Since getting this OTA update, I now get annoying Play Store pop ups, for different game apps. It happens probably 80% of the time I come off of the lock screen. Does anybody know how to get rid of this? Thank you

Unfortunately systemUi stopped and application installer pop-ups!!!!

I cannot figure out how to get pass these pop ups. I had just flashed the insane hybrid rom using CWM, I made sure to do a clean flash. But right after it booted up it just had a completely black screen in the background with the pop ups,"unfortunately, the process com.android.system ui has stopped & unfortunately, application has stopped." And that's all that I get over an over making it completely unsable. I tried wiping it an then restored back my stock Rom. But still have the pop ups but now it's saying all my apps have stopped working now along with the consistent systemui one also? I'm hoping I just maybe missed something in the process an didn't mess it up too bad lol any help would be greatly appreciated.
