Here is the file info,

Porting without source

Hi guys
I have an android with kitkat (Not even stock roms available online for it), and I want to port lolipop to it. The trouble is, all the tutorials I see assume you have source to work from.
Now, I dont have source, But I have an entire bit for bit partition dump (dd). I cant access about half the partitions, but thats the least of my worries.
I'm not interested in installing a new radio, I only want the OS upgraded.
Any advice?

how to build .apk from 4.4.4 source?

Hello

I am pretty new to this so please bare with me :).

I want to install: Google Account Manager, Google Play Services, Google Services Framework and Google Play Store based off Kitkat 4.4.4. I did some research and I can find .apk for the above but I am not able find out if they are based of Kitkat 4.4.4 or not.

Instead of installing some random apk, I would like to create an apk of my own which is based off Kitkat 4.4.4. What all is required to get started? I am pretty novice to all these, please help me out.

Thanks
K2.

Galaxy S4- Compile Kernel From Source, But Wifi Won't Work!

I tried to compile the android kernel from source, my device is E330S, OS is Ubuntu 15.04 x64, version of toolchains is 4.7.
I downloaded the source code of 4.4 from opensource.samsung.com firstly, and follew the instructions of compiling. I got the zImage and packed it into boot.img, flashed it into my phone. All things work well except wifi, the button is unable to be checked, and no configuration file was created in /data/misc/wifi. I change the code to 5.0 and flash the kernel, the device won't boot. Finally i tried to use the code of arter from bitbucket.org/arter97/android_kernel_samsung_msm8974.git, but it won't work either.
The KitKat is the only one that works, i have copied all the *.ko into /system/lib/moduels, but the lsmod shows no modules is installed, .
I am a beginner of compiling the android kernel, is there any tips i missed?

Kernel Source

Can someone help me find the kernel source?

OH1 kernal open source code available

Maybe I am missing something. I know we have been waiting for Samsung to release the source for the OH1 kernal files. I stumbled across this on Samsungs website. I am not a developer but it looks (to me at least) like what we have been waiting for. Could some one that knows what they are doing, check it out. The file on the bottom appears to be the OH1 open source file. Thanks.

Building ICS from source

Hey everyone,

I have my dev environment setup on my Linux machine, and am interested in starting an AOSP build of 4.0.4 (remove touchwiz and keep it stock), and have been following the guides for building from source, but I am stuck.

-setup dev environment
-downloaded source
-ensured I have all packages

where do I go from here?
In http://xda-university.com/as-a-devel...id-from-source it tells me to setup a device target. I have pulled down the Samsung source files from their open source site. Where do I deposit these? Just a bit confused on how to keep rolling on this.

Thanks,
Bluefalcon13

Mate 7 source code

Hello everyone,

I just noticed that huawei appearently placed the source code for the mate 7 online.

emui.huawei DOT com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=74

I'm new to editing roms and such, but doesn't this make it really easy to build new custom roms? (I'm looking at you cm12)
Or add fingerprint functionality to existing roms?

Do you guys think this is possible or am I being way to optimistic here?

I'd love to edit/build something but I don't know much about coding. If it's a matter of copy pasting drivers then it should be fairly easy (right?)

[ROM][5.1.1] The Android Open Source Project by LuK1337

First of all sorry if by any chance I am opening a new thread in the wrong section. But as a new user iam not allowed to post in the original devs post. I flashed this rom and gapps and everything seems ok (this is my first time flashing a custom rom ). My issue is that with the stock rom rooted (5.0.2 xt1068) I had about 430-470mb of ram free at idle with no recent apps open and after flashing this rom iam having quite poor ram management about 280-300mb of free ram. Is that normal? Also already wiped dalvik cache and restart a couple of times. Thanks in advance.

[GAME]Twin Stick Shooter (source code included)

I've just released my latest game on the Google Play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ooter&hl=en_GB

See a video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ9hFEkpqOE

Get the source code here:
http://www.easyandroidcoding.com

I wrote it using libgdx and basic4android.
I'd love any feedback people can offer. I wrote the twin stick implementation myself from scratch without using the gamepad class in libgdx.

OFFICIAL [5.1.1__r13] [MOKEE OPEN SOURCE] [EXPERIMENTAL][28th august]

ABOUT MOKEE

Quote:

From first I want to make know that All Credits go to mokee team and Martincz which do the great job. Is a Lollipop ROM.

MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.

A small group of people from around the world who are interested in Android launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better. Like most contributors of open source projects (Omni, CyanogenMod, Slim AOSPA etc), we are doing all these in our free time as our passion…

Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development (maintain new devices, contribute code etc). Newcomers are always welcomed!
Read here for developer application: http://www.mfunz.com/en/developer-application, you can host your unofficial MoKee builds on our server!

Is there an up to date source for baseband/kernel/modem versions?

New to the Galaxy world, and I'm trying to get my versions in check here.

I did manage to root without tripping KNOX (thought I'm actually not that worried about it), but I have a feeling I've ended up with various versions of things. I've attempted to dig around, but I'm mostly just finding ROM creators recommending the latest of this and the latest of that, and they all give information for which is the "latest" but the posts are 4 months old. So it's a bit tricky to figure out what's actually the latest.

My device is showing up as an Edge when it's not an Edge, Fingerprint scanner isn't working even though I've followed the XtreStoLite instructions to get it working, and various other things are just acting oddly. I don't particularly care about KNOX or XtreStoLite, I'd just like to get everything up to date and in line, then (ideally) rooted with a de-bloated stock ROM.

Here's what I've got:

Device is a G920T (still locked, for 30 more days or something)
My baseband is G920TUVU2COF8
Running UniBase BOG8 V2 kernel (XtreStoLite says this is the latest stock)
Bootloader is FA50_G920TUVU2A0E4
OS of course is 5.1.1, a la XtreStoLite Deo-Mod 2.2

Is there a good place to cross reference this with up to date info, so I can find out on my own what's the latest and greatest? I hate asking questions that seem like things I should be able to figure out on my own.

Thanks in advance

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CodeAurora Forum and CyanogenMod. I added also 3 non-AOSP features for a better user experience (Advanced Reboot, "Clear All" button in Recents and an option to delete screenshots from the notification area) and I'm NOT going to add something other.

Download
Basketbuild (DualSIM/CDMA)
Gapps
SuperSU

Features
Working:
  • RIL

  • WiFi

  • Bluetooth

  • Audio

  • Mobile Data

  • Offline Charge

  • USB OTG

  • MTP

  • Hotspot WiFi

  • ...

Not Working/Bugs:
  • All fine

How can I install it?
-Requires Unlocked Bootloader & a custom recovery

1) Place ROM & Gapps in your virtual SD
2) Reboot in Bootloader Mode
3) Go to "Recovery" (Vol -) and confirm (Vol +)
4) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5) Wipe Dalvik cache
6) Install the ROM zip
7) Install the Gapps zip
8) Install SuperSU zip
9) Reboot
