Best Verizon Activation Method

So with my pure on the way I am starting to think about how I am going to deal with Verizon activating my phone. Currently I am on an OG Droid that as many of you know has no sim card at all, let alone a 4g sim. From what I can see I have two options:

1) Go into verizon with my new phone and say I want it activated and have them do whatever they do.

2) Order a sim from verizon for a new phone.

-- Now I understand that I can not order a sim without an IMEI number. Does this number need to be to a white listed phone and or the actual IMEI of the phone I will activate with or can I just give them any old valid IMEI number?

-- If I need to give them a valid IMEI number for a Verizon phone can I just submit my sisters IMEI number? Also if I was to use my sisters phone to activate the sim would it mess anything up on her phone?

So which option do you think is best and if option 2 please address the additional questions related to it.
