Moto X Play - Manual Option & RAW / DNG format support

Since Moto X Play (2015) is using Android 5.01 , with latest Camera 2 APIs, do we have Manual control over camera (Shutter speed / focus), also would like to know if the default Camera App supports Image capturing in DNG / RAW format.

Is the nexus the right option for my needs?

First off, thanks for your time.

I am thinking about buying the nexus media player now that it is only . My other option was getting a rasberry pi.

My main goal is I want to use it for emulators to play old roms. There are plenty of good emulators in the play store and I can just sideload them. I would also like it to have plex which I know it does.

If I go with the Raspberry pi I can just load retropi on it but I'm not sure if I can then use plex.

I already have a wii u pro controller. I googled to see if it is compatible and did not find any clear answers. Do you guys have any experience with this or know If I can just buy a bluetooth dongle and usb adapter to get it to work? Will this dongle work on the raspberry pi?

If this doesnt work I can always get the 16 dollar Nyko Play Pad Pro that it supposed to work with this

Overall which option do you guys think is the cheapest/most convenient for me?
Is there another system out there that I am not thinking about that would be an even better option?

New option for covers

I don't know if this is common knowledge but the physical dimensions of the Nook HD+ and the iPad Air are VERY close.

NookHD+ Height 9.46" Width 6.41" Thick 0.45"

iPad Air Height 9.45" Width 6.67 Thick 0.30"

The iPad Air 2 is only 0.24 thick and may be too thin but you may get say an Otterbox Defender for an iPad 2 to close around your Nook. The ports won't match but you would get the protection.

I am using a Solo Momentum Leather Tablet Case for iPad® (VTA222) and aside from having to spacer the Nook for width it works well. The SD slot is the only thing truly blocked.

How to remove "Widgets" option from "Apps"?

Does anyone know how to remove "Widgets" option from "Apps"? My phone is a S3 mini and runs stock 4.1.2.

[Q] Missing option to enable widgets.

My Huawei Ascend P7 runs Android version 4.4.2, EMUI 3.0.

I'm unable to setup widgets on my lockscreen (swiping left/right just unlocks the screen), and there is no "Enable WIdgets" option in Settings > Security.

I read this thread, and tried downloading some new themes, different from balance, but the option still doesn't show up. I tried changing lock screen methods as well (Huawei Unlock, PIN, ...) but still no trace of the option.

Any hint? My goal was to have Google Calendar on lock screen (pretty much like what happens on Windows Phone), so I'd be fine with a work-around as well.

Is there an S-OFF option for this phone?

Just wondering, back in my HTC 8 days S-OFF was huge. Is there
also an S-OFF option for the Moto-X pure? Or is the unlocked
bootloader enough or equal to the S-OFF status?

Spam text option missing

Hey everyone. I just picked up a G4 today and the spam filter option is missing from the stock text app. I'm assuming its because I'm on a smaller carrier. Can someone extract their text apk or give me some insight on how to get that back?

Note 4 S-pen share option unavailable?

If I push the share button after I use smart select, image clip, or screen write, it does not give me any options to share it with Facebook, Messenger, etc. It says "share via" and there aren't any apps to share it to. Every other share button on the phone works except for the Samsung ones, can anyone help?

Wifi tethering option not available in hTC One M8

Hello everyone,
I received an hTC m8 (Harman Kardon edition) as a gift. When I received the device, it was factory locked through Sprint Mobile. After a lot of research on internet and on this forum, I have unlocked it to use GSM services in India, and its working fine now.

But now the problem is it does not have the Tethering option. I want to tether my M8's internet connection with other devices but it has no option to enable WiFi tethering or anything. I have also tried a few third party tethering app from play store like(FoxFi, Wifi Tether, etc..) but had no luck. They all failed to start the hotspot and establish a connection.

Please help me, how can I enable the tethering or internet sharing option on my device.

3: Android Version - 4.4.2

Notifications wake up the screen option missing

Hello;

Not only am I new to the Note 5, but Android too. I come from Windows Phone (a Lumia 1520).

I can't find the option to have notifications wake up my screen. Supposedly is under Settings -> Sounds and Notifications, but it is not showing for me. See the screencap.

I downloaded Glimpse Notifications, but I figured it should be a stock option? Also, is there a way to increase the timeout for the screen when Glimpse Notifications turns it on?

Oh, I followed dlthe de-bloat and de-touchwiz guide from the General subforum. Used the basic xml to disable packages. Don't know if that's related.

Ever since I've seen it in action on other ROM, I love Pie Control. The problem is that, even thought there are a few apps available to emulate the real Pie Control from Paranoid Android, none of them have an option to access it with a long press on the Home button. I tried Pie Control (from coolace on the Play Store) and LMT Launcher (from XDA) and there's no option for what I want. They can only be accessed by pressing on a customizable edge of the screen and it's clunky. Is there any other app which could give me what I want?

[Q] to save OTA option for future, should i backup system partition or system image?

as the title says.
with TWRP flashed + system as Read-Only, if i want the option to OTA in the future, should i backup system image or the system partition or both?

M7 no option to enable 4G LTE

Hi,

I spoke to my service provider and they enabled 4G on my account.
I then went into their shop and got a new SIM card, as my old one was 3G only.

So now I have 4G on my account, and a 4G compatible SIM card.


When I go into settings, all I get is the option for 2G/3G auto, and 3G only. No option for 4G/LTE.

I can type in *#*#4636#*#* and get into settings and enable LTE, and then I get the LTE icon at the top and I can go online. However, when I go back into Mobile Data settings, as soon as the screen opens, my internet drops and it reverts to "H" or "3G" at the top. Once again, when I click the option, it only display 2G/3G or 3G only.

How can I activate the option in my OS so it shows up here?

Icon resize option

I'm using PA 5.1 and I really appreciate the option to change dpi settings so the screen can take much more content now.

However the icons remain with the same sizes and are looking kind of blurry now. So if there would be a icon resize option as in the Launcher+ app, that would be a good feature to complete the dpi resize option.

Text Only Browser (*no option* for images)

I'm looking for a text only browser that doesn't provide the option to view images or videos. All the ones I've come across allow you to view the webpage as "normal" (ie, show images) if you choose.

I need something that doesn't provide this option and only shows text, nothing else.

If nothing like that exists, does someone want to build me an app that can do this? I'm assuming it would be relatively easy. It doesn't need to be fancy...

Option for 3G/H only network in windows phone 8.1

Hi there, i know that in windows phone 8.1 software there is an option in network menu to select either
1. 2g only
2. 2g and 3g both (2g/3g)

but for some reason i want my lumia 540 phone to select and stay on 3g only and dont search for 2g.. so is there a way like in android phones i can forcibly set lumia phones to set on 3g only option...... ? Thanks

Option button turns blue and is very hot when charging

Last night, the screen of Note 2014 edition turned black again. So I opened my tab and removed and reconnected the LCD cable and power cable. The screen went back on but I noticed that the OPTION BUTTON was no longer lighting while the BACK BUTTON was still lighting.

Today, when I tried charging my tab, the OPTION BUTTON turned blue while the BACK BUTTON did not light at all. It was also very very hot. Like burning sensation hot.
