C5 Ultra becomes unresponsive at random times.

This phone is like liquid most of the time then all of a sudden it slows right down, switching between apps can take over 10 seconds, keyboard typing can be 20 seconds behind. Ive tried 2 hard resets and only installed Google apps. Maybe Sony hasnt plugged the 5.0 lollipop bugs in this firmwqre. Anyie else having the same problem?

Questions about the new updates on Z Ultra!

I bought a Z Ultra 2 days ago. After I activated it I have been prompted with 2 notifications: 1 that was asking me to update to the latest android and one that was asking me to update for the latest Xperia software update. First, I did the update for Android. Second, I did the update for Xperia software. My first question is: I did good by updating both - or I should've updated only the Android and not also the Xperia software? One of them changed the looks of my homescreen, the size of icons and not only, but I am not sure which one.

I am thinking of making a reset to factory settings and to do only the Android update and forget about the Xperia update. Would it be ok to do that? Which one changed the looks of my phone?

Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 contacts question

when I go to phone book I have options speed dial, recents and contacts. In contacts they are all duplicated, showing phone and SIM. I have gone into the contact app and in the settings 'contacts to display' have ticked Phone-only, unsynced. It shows only phone contacts in the app but going back to the phonebook still shows both phone and SIM.
How do I show only phone contacts in the phonebook??

my xperia device is stuck on the sony logo. wont pass that part. doesn't go into flashmode or fastboot, nothing. what can I do plz I need help. cant use flashmode on the pc as the computer never recognizes the phone bcuz it doesn't go into fastboot mode.

Requirements:

Flashtool 0.9.18.0. Important: Do not use Flashtool 0.9.19.0.
Rooted XZU on Android version 5.0.2 with custom recovery installed.

This works on locked or unlocked bootloaders and any customization.

Instructions for upgrading without root:

1- Back up your internal SDCARD and your apps.
2- Download C6833_14.6.A.0.368_customized_DE.ftf
3- Open Flashtool 0.9.18.0 and click on the flash icon. Choose flash mode.
4- Navigate to where you saved C6833_14.6.A.0.368_customized_DE.ftf and flash this ftf with your phone in flash mode. I recommend wiping apps and cache and data. To put your phone in flash mode, hold the volume down button when it is off and connect with the USB cable to the PC.
5- Reboot.

[Rumors] finally some "real" rumors about the Z5 Ultra

As the title mentions rumors about the succesor for our ultra. I'm really anticipating on a succesor, i use my ultra now for 2 years. At this moment there is for me still no proper replacement on the market. If the rumors are true, i've found mine replacement:)

It is generic version, so without any problems. It is same firmware number as XPERIA Z1 Compact and XPERIA Z1. My phone is very fast after update. Xperia Z Ultra Power Button Remap

Hi, I am a complete noob here.

My Sony Xperia Z Ultra is not able to turn off due to hardware issue. The power button is always pressed. Whenever I choose to off the phone, it turns on but also turns on itself. There is time during my work that I need to have my phone off totally (not even silent mode). Repairing costs me the price of a new phone.

I want to remove volume up button function and call for power function when "volume up" button is pressed. I searched and found great remap button apps. But all of them revert back to the original setting when I off my device.

I tried rooting my device using "Root Android without PC" and "KingRoot". I verified the root status of my device using "Root Checker". But I don't dare to move a step further to install Xposed Framework because I don't know how and the risk is real high that I can't take.

What can I go about in this case?

Some good advice from a C5 Ultra User and a mini review....

Ok so i've had my C5 Ultra for a few days now here in the UK and have had a few ups and downs but i've solved the problems I had with the phone.

I'm coming from the Z3 which I had an original sandisk 128gb micro SD card in. (Bear in mind I have tried several different Micro SD cards and I always buy original good ones)

Problems I had:

1. With the Z3 taking pictures was very quick whilst having the default storage to Micro SD card, DO NOT set the camera storage to micro SD on the C5 Ultra it takes 5 times longer to write to the micro SD card than the internal memory, so if you want to take photos in quick succession then don't save to the external memory.

2. Again an external micro SD card problem.....I have lots of apps and games, games especially taking up loads of space. I thought id be clever and install some big games and use lollipops feature of transferring them to the external memory to gain some space. This will slow the entire system down. DONT DO IT TRUST ME, pick your favourite apps and be done with!!

3. I have a Sony Smartwatch 3 and paired it with the phone and installed the Lifelog app. Currently (10th September) this app will slow your C5 Ultra down, it may not be optimised for Mediatek processors yet. Id wait for the app to be updated before you use/download it. Use the Google Fit app which works fine and can be left on even in stamina mode.

4. Don't expect the battery to be as good as a Sony Xperia Z3, its close and you will be happy with the C Ultras battery life but don't expect flagship battery life. (this may change as the battery on my C5 Ultra has not been run in plus I've been using this phone constantly!! Also the phone is on 5.0 lollipop and not 5.1.1 so the memory leak bug is probably there.) The good news is the battery life is better than the Z Ultra!

5. The phones 3g/4g signal is pretty weak, I thought the Z3 was bad but this is worse, hopefully in the next firmware update this will be resolved.

The good:

Being a heavy phone user and my previous phones being : Xperia Z, Z Ultra, Z2, Galaxy note 2, 3, 4, Nexus 6 and Xperia Z3 I can honestly say now that I have solved the phones problems, this is the best phone I have owned, its the perfect size and price for me. The Screen is gorgeous, both cameras are great, the in call speaker is better than the Z3. I got the official dock as well and love the portrait orientation. As you can see the Phone completes the rest of my Sony setup (Yep my whole house is a Sony Shop LOL!)!! Anyway, enjoy and if your after a phablet sized sony phone then this is the one to have. I cannot install xposed framework on Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 Phone?

Hello got meself one of these fantastic value for money phones and unlocked it to my network next thing I wanted to do is root it and then install xposed framework and then xposed app settings and gravity box.

After I installed xposed framework and tried to install xposed/update framework into the system I was greeted with the message in the pic, I have never got this message with xposed before. What does it mean and what do I have to do, or what am I doing wrong? thanks.

so....recently I did a research after metodes of how to put the UltraPowerSavingMode on GalaxyNote3(SM-N9005)
I found a few links but when I looked in the comments ... some people said that it worked, but many many others said that they got bootloop and other errors...
So now I'm asking you ,guys....and laydies.... is it possible to put the Ultra Power Saving Mode on the Note3? I mean....the hardware is good enough ,isn't it?:confused:

I want to share the firmware FILESET of C5 Ultra Dual E5563 (29.0.B.0.161), copy from Sony Update Engine.
Because the Flashtool not support E5563 and can't decrypt the files (Flashtool will hang when decrypting),
so still can't get the loader.sin to make the FTF file.
I hope these files can help the developers to find the root method for E5563.

I tried to downgrade my xperia t2 ultra from Android 5.0 to 4.4.2 and after following the spets my smartphone died....

When i try to turn it on, it vibrate only.
It detects as a Sony ericsson on sony pc companion.
When charging the red led keeps turning on and off...

How can i fix this :'( i am so sad
