Need help flashing device and using CWM and flashtool (First time user)

Hello
I am attempting to flash my Xperia Z ultra sol24 variant for the first time. However I am running into problems and cannot seem to make any progress.

Ultimately, the goal is to root the device, unlock the sim carrier (au_kiddy) and flash the device to the c6833 Global rom, whilst keeping the 32gb internal storage that this latest variant (sol24 Japan only) comes with.

I am following the guide here (Its in three steps):
  1. http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1663/

  2. http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1664/

  3. http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1665/

Firstly (http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1663) I was told to backup and make a ftf backup using the sony PC companion and flashtool which I have done. The ftf file I had created is SOL24_14.3.C.0.239_au_KDDI.ftf

Then after doing so, the guide says to download the android SDK and adt bundle, then download the latest xperiaRootkit (rootkitXperia_20140719.zip) and extract the rootkit to platform tools folder of SDK and connect my XU to the pc using usb debugging the run the bat which will essentially root my device.
After doing so I downloaded the SuperSU app and finished the root.

I was then told to download the two files from (http://htcsoku.info/htcsokudev/rudim...aledition-rom/)
SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_1.20.973.4.zip
SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_Baseband.ftf
And place the GlobalEdition_1.20.973.4.zip onto my SD card, then using the XZU&Z1recoveryv4Windows tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...8#post45149758) boot into CWM mode and install the zip.

That is where my problem started, and upon installing the SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_1.20.973.4.zip I selected the "reboot" option and upon reboot, it was stuck at the SONY logo and the phone would not boot any further.
I hard reset the XU and tried using the flashtool to flash SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_Baseband.ftf as that is the next step, however the device was still stuck at the sony logo. So I attempted to flash my pre-made SOL24_14.3.C.0.239_au_KDDI.ftf file back to the device, which worked, but took me back to where I started.

I am trying to redo the steps above but I am getting an error, I have re-installed the XZU&Z1 recovery v4 Windows tool to the device, however it will not let me enter CWM mode on startup (The phone does not vibrate, nor does the green led appear) it just skips straight to the xperia logo and boots.

Is it possible that I have somehow flashed my pre-made SOL24_14.3.C.0.239 ftf incorrectly? There are three columns, "Wipe" "Exclude" and "MiscTA exclude" on the side of the flashtool that I have played around with, however after flashing a few times and going through the steps I'm still unable to get the CWM tool to work, and am ultimately stuck at the moment.

I feel this can be easily resolved, however I am not sure which ftf to download or even how to properly flash the ftf(What do I need to exclude from the ftf flash?)
Can I please request some assistance?

Login user deleted?

Hi all, I've been trying to login to XDA after a period of inactivity of more or less than 1 year, only to find out that my account no longer works and I'm back to having to post 10 useful posts before asking a question in a ROM thread.. Is there any way to get my account back? I need to flash my phone and I don't want to risk bricking it only because I can't ask a question in the ROM's thread.. Any help?

Please help noob user: Unrooted kindle fire hd 7 bootloop with broken power button

I have been having problems opening my device for months now because the power button isn't working anymore for me. So when I open my Kindle I just usually plug the charger. Then one day, I don't know what happened, when I opened my device it was so slow and the launcher (original) is always not responding. So when I finally manage to go to Settings > Device > Restore Factory settings... my account was deregistered and I waited for it to reboot. When it did, it was the same. I didn't think that the Reset settings I did, worked. My power button is broken, right? So what I did next, I opened the back case of the device and tried to push the power button with a pin, then all of a sudden it restarted and ended up being stuck with the Kindle Fire logo. Anyone could help me with this problem? I'm still hoping that it could still be fixed. Please reply, any help would be much appreciated. (My KFHD is the first gen btw)

and I couldn't reboot again the device, it's still stuck with the logo

Some good advice from a C5 Ultra User and a mini review....

Ok so i've had my C5 Ultra for a few days now here in the UK and have had a few ups and downs but i've solved the problems I had with the phone.

I'm coming from the Z3 which I had an original sandisk 128gb micro SD card in. (Bear in mind I have tried several different Micro SD cards and I always buy original good ones)

Problems I had:

1. With the Z3 taking pictures was very quick whilst having the default storage to Micro SD card, DO NOT set the camera storage to micro SD on the C5 Ultra it takes 5 times longer to write to the micro SD card than the internal memory, so if you want to take photos in quick succession then don't save to the external memory.

2. Again an external micro SD card problem.....I have lots of apps and games, games especially taking up loads of space. I thought id be clever and install some big games and use lollipops feature of transferring them to the external memory to gain some space. This will slow the entire system down. DONT DO IT TRUST ME, pick your favourite apps and be done with!!

3. I have a Sony Smartwatch 3 and paired it with the phone and installed the Lifelog app. Currently (10th September) this app will slow your C5 Ultra down, it may not be optimised for Mediatek processors yet. Id wait for the app to be updated before you use/download it. Use the Google Fit app which works fine and can be left on even in stamina mode.

4. Don't expect the battery to be as good as a Sony Xperia Z3, its close and you will be happy with the C Ultras battery life but don't expect flagship battery life. (this may change as the battery on my C5 Ultra has not been run in plus I've been using this phone constantly!! Also the phone is on 5.0 lollipop and not 5.1.1 so the memory leak bug is probably there.) The good news is the battery life is better than the Z Ultra!

5. The phones 3g/4g signal is pretty weak, I thought the Z3 was bad but this is worse, hopefully in the next firmware update this will be resolved.

The good:

Being a heavy phone user and my previous phones being : Xperia Z, Z Ultra, Z2, Galaxy note 2, 3, 4, Nexus 6 and Xperia Z3 I can honestly say now that I have solved the phones problems, this is the best phone I have owned, its the perfect size and price for me. The Screen is gorgeous, both cameras are great, the in call speaker is better than the Z3. I got the official dock as well and love the portrait orientation. As you can see the Phone completes the rest of my Sony setup (Yep my whole house is a Sony Shop LOL!)!! Anyway, enjoy and if your after a phablet sized sony phone then this is the one to have. Thanks.

Nexus 6 User Possible Upgrade

I've had my Nexus 6 since April, along with a couple other flagships but I'm curious to get back with Samsung. The Nexus 6 is great and all, but I'm getting a little bored with it and I'd like something with a better screen.

Does anyone have the Nexus 6?

Running Script on boot before user apps load ???

still on kitkat 4.4.4 here! :)

Hi guys im searching for a way to start a mount-script BEFORE my user apps load up on boot ?

I already got the install-recovery.sh method to work , but its not good , it loads after boot and after other apps have started.

Scriptmanager method is the same , runs after all other apps have started.

the problem i have is that right now im using the app "folder-mount"which is good for some folders like "dcim" BUT it also starts a good time(5 seconds) after the homescreen.

until then another app which i want to write its folder to the sdcard2 has started before it and has already written its new logfile to the internal emulated sdcard, the "foldermount" mounts afterwards and the app can´t see its own log anymore

this is a major suckage , so i search for a way to mount the folders BEFORE all my user apps load up !

please help me thanx !
