[Q] [i9506 with Temasek's UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod 12.1] MMS not working properly

Hi,

I've been using Temasek's UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod 12.1 on my GS4 Advance (i9506) since quite a few months (i.e i've used 3 different versions, until current version), and with none of them my MMS's have been working properly.

What happens : I can't send or receive MMS with LTE alone. Sending always fails, and I cannot download the ones I'm receiving.
My phone does something weird : when it tries to send an MMS, I can see the data connection being lost (I have the exclamation mark beneath the network bars).
After the send attempt fails, I have to manually turn off then back on the data connection to actually get it back.

What's even more strange is that my MMS work fine at home when I'm connected to my home's internet through WiFi o.O

LTE alone = big nono. LTE + WiFi = OK.

In the rom's developpement thread, I've seen several people complain about MMS not working for 'em either but there are also others saying they just work fine for 'em, so... Seems to be a quite unusual issue.

I've tried a data and cache wipe, even a fresh install, the problem remains.

I'm starting to think about going back to Samsung's stock rom for this reason but that would really be a shame... :(

Anyone having the same issues...?

Thanks in advance for any kind of answer :)

Have a nice day all.

[ROM] [UNOFFICIAL] MIUI 7 for Lenovo a6000 /plus

MIUI 7 Global Custom ROM

[WARNING : Rooting or installing a custom rom or recovery might brick your device or your device may act abnormally and you also lose the device warranty. You may even get a dead SD card which might not work or you can leave your device in a dead state. Before going through the entire tutorial please be advised that it is your own responsibility to go further. We’re not liable for any loss of data or any property of yours by any mean.]

What is it?
This ROM is developed by Xiaomi for their own phones. MIUI 7 is the latest one which uses Kitkat 4.4.4 as base. This ROM is created for RedMI and it's ported by a chinese developer(God bless). It's shared by the site techolaty.com.

Why should I install this ROM?
Because VIBE UI is pathetic, no offence.

What you will get in this ROM?
  • Clean

  • No Bloatware

  • Global Version, so no Chinese stuff

  • Optimized RAM usage

  • Themes

  • Camera sw is really good

  • Overall no lag at all

How does it look like?

What do I need to have to use this ROM?
  • GAPPS for Kitkat (4.4.2 or 4.4.4)

  • Custom Recovery (FlourMO, CWM, Phillz - Search XDA for more details)

If you don't have any idea on above two things, I strongly recommend not to proceed with this thread.

Where I can get those things?
  • GAPPS can be found here

  • Custom Recovery can be found (CWM), (PhilZ)

  • Download the ROM here.

How can I install this ROM?
  • Step 1 : Copy both the files to your SD card ( The MIUI 7 custom rom and the gapps which you’ve downloaded)

  • Step 2 : Boot into Recovery (Follow the guide to goto recovery)

  • Step 3 : Please take an entire backup of your current rom through the CWM menu. So that you can restore it back if you fail to install the Custom ROM

  • Step 4 : Enter recovery

  • Step 5 : Make full wipe including “system”

  • Step 6 : Flash the rom

  • Step 7 : Flash the gapps

  • Step 8 : Reboot (the first boot can take up to 2 minutes)

How can I thank you?
;)
I just copy-paste-ed. Thanks to the unknown developer for the porting and to Veer Amrit Singh(techolaty.com).

CM UNOFFICIAL 12.1 OPT Bugs

Hi :)

I installed yesterday unofficial CM 12.1 on my A2001 OPT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/onep...-12-1-t3185511) and first impression for now is : WOW, what a fast device finally (when you don't have Oxygen OS on it) !

That said, i experience some bugs and i will use this thread for reporting them.
  • LED notification is bugged i think : i set some colors for several apps, and the colors are wrong, and the frequency of blinking too. So I assume there is something going on with the LED

  • Snapshat is lagging HARD-CORE. Like unusable. I had to enforce the shutdown of the device (he was no responding). That happens at launch of the app, not on a particular action

  • Home sensitive button is not quite responsive when the phone is in standbye mode. I often have to retry like 3-4 times to wake up the phone, or push the lock button which work well. I don't talk about fingerprint, i already read it's planned or at least devs know about it

I will update this post if I find some new issues.

Thx for your work guys, it's awesome.

CyanogenMod 11 [UNOFFICIAL] for i9100 with Stagefright Fix

For all those who aren't yet ready to upgrade to Lollipop but would like to close this vulnerability on their device, I have built the latest CM11 source as of 8/25/15 (since CM11 nightlies for this device are no longer released for download). This build is unofficial but I have not modified it in any way. It includes all StageFright fixes that the CM development team has implemented.

Download

Tested briefly with Lanchon's i777 Crossflash Kernel on my device.

Installation instructions can be found on CM's website or on Lanchon's kernel thread (above).
* I recommend wiping cache/system/data prior to flashing (dirty flash with only a cache wipe did not work on my device when upgrading from the last public nightly).

Good luck!

Known bugs:
  • camera

  • pink/green overlay on videoplayback

I labeled the rom as stable, even with the two bugs above. Imo these are value added services, phone is functioning rocksolid.

Known issues
There is an issue with a series of D230X / D240X devices with use different accelerometer and magnetometer then the device I have, and the FXP devs have. This issue is that the device bootloops. It is probably caused by the sensorhal which is provided by sony, i.e. we donot compile it from source.
There is a way to boot it, but you will have no sensors working (magno/accelero/proximity/light). This is relatively simple: Open up the zip (on win I advise 7zip), remove sensors.msm8226.so from system/vendor/lib/hw in the zip, and close the zip (click yes if prompted to save changes).
This issues kept me wake for weeks, but is yet not solved. You can read some more background info here

Awaiting all your feedback here. As I opted for D2303 to have official omni status, usefull input is important. But... Please donot report bugs without relevant logs and steps-to-reproduce. I will not look into that if I cannot reproduce it myself, if you report comes without a log
