Making Android Pay work on rooted devices

Hey guys, I have LG G2 VS980 running custom T-Mobile ROM for a few days now. Today I tried setting up Android Pay and it gave me an error, stating "this device doesn't seem to be an android". So, I looked around and figured out that one has to TEMPORARILY UNROOT the device by unchecking the "Enable Superuser" box in the SuperSU>Settings, then set Android Pay cards up and then again check "Enable Superuser". The steps would be more involved for Nexus devices, which would need locking the bootloader (use app BootUnlocker) > uncheck enable superuser > set up cards on android pay > check enable superuser > unlock bootloader.

Help making a boot animation.

Hi guys, I've made a boot animation for my Z3, I read a few tutorials and followed each to the letter.

I used ffmpeg to grab the frames from a video and put them in two folders, named; part0 and part1.

Part0, I want to play once. Part1 I want to play once and then loop until the phone boots fully.

my desc.txt file looks like this:

I tried it without the line "c 1 0 part1" and it still didn't work.

I previewd the file with depotovski01's boot animation factory and it played perfect, but when I installed it on my phone using ROM toolbox pro and rebooted, the first part played fine then the screen went white and I was in a bootloop.

Had to change it through recovery to boot again.

Any ideas what's causing this?

Hi. Can any one help with making rules for incoming emails to go directly to specific folders created in the email app. I have found where to make rules but can't seem to get it to work.

Making a New ebay Fire Phone (ATT) initial set-up guide- please help with "step 3"

My Fire Phone will be arriving from Ebay tomorrow (new, ATT unlocked version) and wanting to figure out the best steps to optimize it before it auto-updates to 4.6.4. Lots of great info in these threads, but I'm a bit uncertain about the correct steps to take once my phone arrives. Figured a bunch of people are in the same boat, so I'm trying to write a quick guide and hope to draw from people's experience here.

Step 1:
Activate Phone with Amazon to get free year of Prime. Follow guide at: spinyourfire.com/fire-phone-tips-and-tricks/register-fire-phone/

Step 2:
Unlock phone using code from Ebay seller.

***Step 3:
This is where I'm a bit confused. I know that gApps work best with 4.6.3, but that ATT versions automatically update to 4.6.4, which is not gApps friendly. It sounds like downgrading from 4.6.4 is time consuming...
So what do people rec is the best initial step? Should I turn off automatic updates or is there a better course of action? Maybe I need to install root/Safestrap and then use the stock 4.6.3 image?

Step 4:

Step 5:
Conserve battery life:
Disable Tilt/Swivel/Dynamic Perspective/Peek/Auto-scroll – Go to Settings > Display > Configure low motion settings – Enable ‘Low Motion Mode’
Disable Bluetooth, NFC and any other features you are not using.

Step 6:
consider more advanced options such as Root/Safestrap in order to make CM11 or SlimKat possible (see developer threads.) Also consider adding an alternative start screen and/or Google Now.

[Q] Failing miserably at making a boot animation... WTF am I doing wrong?

HI all,

I am trying to create a boot animation for my N6, it's a family video that lasts 33 seconds.
I used ffmpeg to extract the images, I tried different resolutions (720x400, 720x1280, 960x720, 720x540, 1440x800, and 1440x1080), and frame rates (8, 12 and 30).
The desc.txt looks like this:
720 400 12
p 0 0 part0
p 0 0 part1

Also
1440 1080 8
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1

There's a total of 264 images, with only 1 on the part1 folder.
I also tried 'c' instead of 'p' in the desc.txt. I used jpg and png formats.

If I'm lucky the phone boots w/o showing the animation, other times, it boots, but there is no video at all and I have to boot recovery, remove bootanimation.zip and reboot (permissions are 644 on the file).
Any suggestions?
WTF am I doing wrong?
