Activating Used phone on Verizon.

I just bought a note 5 on swappa for Verizon. I cut my micro Sim for my g3 and put it in the note 5. When I powered it on it was automatically activated in my Verizon account. Is this a safe method of activating?

I normally add it with the imei on Verizons site and then turn on the phone.

This was plug and play. Am I good?

WIFI and Bluetooth not activating

Hello everybody,
tried to find out similar problems but I couldn't.
Premise: my device has not had significant shocks, therefore I feel to exclude any hardware issue.
After flashing my device - by following guides on XDA - I immediately experienced wifi and bluetooth issues: not working, not activating. When trying to activate, they remain "grey".
Tried to go back to stock but no change: wifi and bluetooth not working.
Back to DarkCM (9.00, CyanogenMod 11 - 20141109-OFFICIAL-ancora), nothing has changed.
FIrmware Baseband is I8150XXLMI, Kernel is KK 4.4_OC_SM_ION+hakan@hakan #1

Get OTA update without ever activating?

Picked up a Sprint Prepaid Moto E (XT1526) from Best Buy for to use as a media/wifi only device. Device currently has 5.0.2 but it's my understanding the 5.1.1 update is out for the sprint model. However, whenever I check for a system update, I get "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later". I also tried updating using Motorola Device Manager on my PC and but it said no update and told me my current version was "N/A".

Could this be due to the fact I've never activated service on the device? Otherwise does anyone know how I can get the OTA?
