Sim problem

Hi everyone,my friend have a problem with his Samsung Galaxy S5 model G900F,when he updated his Android i think to Lollipop,he couldent use Sim,it just say there is no sim,insert sim etc.........but after this update it worked,so it this problem with Android or something else?THANKS
