I went to an official Samsung Service Center to get the screen replaced. Long story short:
1. Samsung employee updates my phone from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1 without my explicit permission.
2. The proximity sensor doesn't work properly anymore; screen turns off but doesn't turn back on during or after a call. I go to the *#0*# menu and notice that the proximity sensor test turns on when I wave my hand over the sensor, but it doesn't turn off.
Anyone know a fix for this?
PS: And they scratched my frame (which the manager has offered to replace...thankfully)
