how to stop andoid app from updating itself

I am trying to use an android application that wont start unless you update it, once the game starts it asks you to update and shows nothing but the update button. i would like to use the app without update.

even if i disable the update from play store, it doesnt work, it still asks for update.

as if the update request is coming from the app itself.
i tried changing the time of the device or downloading even older versions and its not working.. HELP PLEASE?
