Battery Percentage Indicator

I know that this question has been asked before, bit no one seems to have my problem: basically I just bought my galaxy Edge and I can't switch off the battery percentage indicator. The option to do so is not where it should be (or anywhere else)

I think my carrier may have disabled it for some reason but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any help or advice?
