Alternative for the AdblockPlus (Draining my battery!)

I haven't been able to find a way to root my G920i on 5.1.1. without tripping KNOX yet, and hence resorted to alternative methods like using ABP to block ads. However, the performance is really poor on 2 fronts:

1. Doesn't block all ads and leaves the placeholder on the webpage
2. Battery Drain - around 10% for every 3h of standby. Without it, I can standby the entire night and only lose 1%.

Is there any better solution out there? I am trying to avoid VPN based solutions as it is ultra slow by having to route through the VPN again.
