New APN for straight talk on oneplus

If you thought your data was slow lately it probably was there is new APN settings for straight talk with one plus one on the att network. Had to delete the old APN or it would automatically switch back to it.

Straight Talk AT&T Network Issue

I have trouble connecting to a certain website using the Straight Talk AT&T BYOP sim card on my Nexus 5. The website is Chatango and whenever I try to login into my account on LTE, I receive error message net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE using the Google Chrome web browser app. I also downloaded the Chatango mobile app from the Google Play Store and I receive the same error message. However, I only receive this error message when I'm on LTE or 3G. If I switch to Wifi, both the Chatango app and connecting to the site on Google Chrome works without any issues. I am running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

To troubleshoot this problem, I took an activated sim card directly from AT&T (not from Straight Talk) and put it in my phone and I was able to connect to the site without any error messages. I even took an activated sim card from T-Mobile and I was still able to connect to the site. It's only with the Straight Talk's AT&T mobile connection on LTE or 3G where I receive this problem. So I thought it would be a carrier issue with Straight Talk. I called their customer support and they claimed that they could not help me with the issue. They claimed that it is a "Google" problem and that there is nothing they can do, despite the fact that the site works on any other carrier that I tried it on and it works on Wifi. Can someone help me with this? I am also using the latest APN settings according to what is presented on Straight Talk's website.

EXCITING NEWS for Straight Talk Users Regarding Data Throttling

So I'm very excited to report that I have used 35 GB of high speed data this month on straight talk :D

So, it's unlimited, but only kind of. What happens is, the preferred network type setting in CM 12.1 does a really good job and, as long as you stay on LTE (and you might have to keep an active connection too), you have unlimited high speed data. As soon as I dropped into 3g, my data started being throttled.

This is very exciting because, in theory, as long as you live in an area with good LTE coverage, you could theoretically have mostly unlimited high speed data. I am not sure how this little bug works if you switch from one LTE tower to another (this was all done at my house).

I would like some feedback. Please let me know if you try any of the following:
1. Try this on CM 12.1 for yourself and make sure this isn't some fluke that just happened to me this month
2. Try this on ANY other ROM. I don't know what will happen, but I would assume this would work on any CM 12.1 based ROM with the LTE only setting.
3. Can we get something to FORCE our phone to stay on LTE if this is legit? I would rather have LTE than long battery life.

Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S6 on Straight Talk

Hello everyone!

I just bought an att samsung galaxy s6 and had it unlocked. I currently have straight talk service and it is completely horrible! The coverage map shows excellent service in my area. My friends have straight talk service and their phones have awesome service and blazing fast 4g lte speeds. My friends have branded straight talk phones (like galaxy s3 etc). My att S6 is horrible though.

Im sitting beside my friend right now. He has straight talk branded galaxy s3. Both his phone and my phone are both GSM sim phones using the same band and towers. We both installed speedtest app and used the exact same test server. He would go first and I would go when his speed test was finished. My friend got like 35 mbits down and 17 mbits up. I got 1 mbit down and 0.76 mbit up.

I have called tech support about 20 times trying to figure out why my phone is so slow but nobody can figure it out. I have heard ever excuse from my phone needs factory data reset to my phone uses different towers than my friends phones (which one has an unlocked att s4 phone).

Does anyone know why my phone is so slow and my friends phones are blazing fast? Any help is appreciated.

Oh, btw... my phone and my friends phones have exact same apn setting etc.

Help! me go from CM12.1 >stock >straight talk. (Not a noob)

I won an HTC One M9 from sprint. My previous phone was a non-triband L720 Samsung S4.
I'm selling the phone to a friend who will be getting Sprint, but can't yet do it because the closest place around is like 60 miles away!

So in the mean time, he got a straight talk card (CDMA&GSM)
I have found two relevant URLs pertaining to unlocking the phone.

Thing is,
A. I'm in good standing with Sprint so I can get it unlocked.
B. Dear god look at those instructions! I can unlock it manually, but dang man! That's scary if I go into a menu and screw things up, or worse, it doesn't unlock and I don't even know which step I messed up on. I've been flashing for years, I'm not a newbie.

I need help with:
A. helping me know which stock from to flash. I came from lollipop.
B. while keeping my recovery if possible. He wants my CM12.1, so I will back it up and then restore it.
C. Do I need to flash any modems/basebands? I'm confused. I have
L720PUGOD2 currently.

So
1. Backup cm12.1
2. flash lollipop stock
3.call Sprint, get UICC unlock
they will domestic unlock it right?
4. Then I can get back to the cm12.1 on my own.
Is that correct? From what I read, CDMA straight talk
So hopefully it's that easy. My buddy want the phone working asap so I would really appreciate an opinion from a pro. Thanks!

battery goes for 15 percent straight to 10, then to 5, then dead.

so lately my battery is being annoying. I'll hit 15 percent, then outta nowhere it goes right to 10, then all of a sudden I hear the beeps again and my brightness lowers and i'm at 5. wtf?

then within like 30 seconds, it's dead and the phone is shutting off.

now, it did this before a factory reset, and again after one. I'm still in kitkat 4.4.4.

the battery status is fine, and it's not bloated or anything. I hardly ever use fast charging so I have trouble believing that within less than 1 year of the phone, the battery died already.

my battery life in general is garbage and i average maybe barely 3 hours screen on time a day at like 16 hours off charger... but what this is doing I've never had happen on a phone before.

any thoughts?

No data (cellular) on Straight talk with my LG G3(VZW) running Paranoid Android

Ok so I have Paranoid Android 4.4.4 and I had upgraded to the most recent (I believe 5.1) and no matter what I did or straight talk did, I couldn't find a solution to get the data to work. I ended up having to downgrade back to 4.4.4 to get data to work. Has anyone had this issue with this phone and lollipop on Straight talk? The best I can figure is that straight talk doesn't support Android Lollipop..can anyone confirm this or post a fix to this problem? Thank you guys.

is there any rom that is fully controllable from gamepad straight from firstboot?

I haven't used my xperia play in 3 years and I just now found out the digitizer is fried I would like to have a rom that can boot up and have the entire os configurable from your gamepad keys like the nvidia shield maybe. I would just be using it for gameboy emu's I hope this is doable it doesn't have to be ice cream aslong as its operatable from fresh flash.

[HELP] Straight Talk OF4 baseb, build root?

I was wondering if there was an accurate, safe root method for the OF4 baseband and build?

It's a Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy S4 SM-S975L straight from the local WalMart.
The strange thing is, the kernel version is dated Tuesday, June 16th.

It looks like this thing comes fresh without NB1 (which I'm not sure will work with this hardware configuration, so hesitant to Odin flash).

Bootloader says WRITE PROTECTION ON. It's obviously locked. But it's been made aware of a different firmware flash will trip knox. (Will Triangle Away fix?)

Towelroot v3 says "not supported" so: does not work with override code 1337 0 1 7380 4 0 (or something, I Googled it, eh...)
Towelroot v1 stops responding on "Make it ra1n" tap.
VRoot failure trick, then Towelroot at the bugged out rebooted OS with the error message makes Towelroot v1 reboot the phone, but alas, no root. This is one step further.
Kingroot does not work.
VRoot can get Towelroot to reboot the phone, but nothing happens.

Again, this seems to be a very recent baseband and build. Dated June 16th, 2015.
I can attempt an Odin flash if that is theoretically possible from Download mode but it will trip Knox and set the warranty bit.

Suggestions and safe STOCK ROM to flash?
If not an exploit, that's easier. Thanks. Looks like this new kernel's been patched.
