TWRP alternative?

So here is what I am stuck:

I have a SM-G9208 international edition. I have been working around and finally managed to get TWRP flashed using ODIN and boot into recovery. the problem is that the touch screen does not work for some reason.

So I am looking for a recovery that does not require touch screen. I was hoping to find a recovery that I can flash through ODIN and only uses physical buttons. Does any know where I can find such a thing?

Hey OnePlus users! I wish I could put this in the development category, but I can't yet. I just have one thing I want to have: all working alternative ROMs. I'm talking no Cm, Slim or AOSP based, things like MIUI, SailfishOS, FlymeOS, or even obscure things like Ubuntu-Touch. Best Alternative to Nexus 5 2015?

If I can't wait for the new Nexus 5 2015 (old phone is on its last legs - I know it's just a few more weeks) Want is the best alternative as far as best phone (no budget) that get's the updates the quickest (one thing I really liked about the Nexus). I'm a power user but don't play games, also a Prosumer Photographer but I won't sacrifice overall features just to get a better camera.

Alternative to Samsung Keyboard?

Wondering if there is an alternative to the default Samsung Keyboard that allows you to send it as an sms message. Screen write takes a screenshot of the ENTIRE screen and you draw on the screenshot meanwhile the background of the phone is being shown. Is there a way to just send an sms of what you draw without converting it to text and NOT showing your entire phone background?

Stickmount alternative

Hi,

my problem is that i updated to latest stock ROM and now stickmount is very buggy. Can't unmount, sometimes can't even mount. I have to force close then re-open. I used for almost 2 years and never had any problem. Can you recommend an app that can mount pendrive and it is working well? Or a Custom ROM that has the same function built-in?

TweetCaster has gone crazy! Any alternative Twitter app suggestion?

I have been using TweetCaster for over three years I think, it worked flawlessly for me, until now. Even when I disable app's notification, it still keeps notifying me, which is needless to say really annoying. So looking for an alternative. Could someone suggest me a simple twitter app, not with all the fancy animations or looks or anything, just a simple app with Twitlonger support and proper push notifications, that's all.

Alternative to installing Better Battery Stats as system app

Starting with Android 4.4 (KitKat) Better Battery Stats (BBS) require installation as system app to be able to collect the stats.
BBS must re re-installed as system app after each ROM upgrade (upgrade that does not preserve third party system apps).

I have found an alternative to this - the required permissions can be granted to BBS when it is installed as a regular user app by running these commands in Android Terminal (or ADB shell session):

After using these commands it might be required to restart BBS process (e.g. reboot the device). Permissions granted this way will be preserved across ROM upgrades (even across those completely overwriting /system partition).

This has been tested on CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies (Android 5.1.1).

[Q] Google Music alternative for home server?

Hello everyone. I have been using Google Music for a while, but I don't like having to depend on the website to sync playlists and update them. On my desktop I have MusicBee, and its home folder is my OneDrive account (so my music is ALWAYS backed up). I also have a home server that's always on. I'm looking to take advantage of the server more often. Is there a software for Android and Windows (the server) that allows me to sync or stream music over LAN and WAN?I have a large music library and I am not always at home when I want to hear a specific song. I'd like to keep the library in sync (playlists and such) with my desktop as well.

Any ideas?

There used to be working plugins for MusicBee that sync with Google Music, but none of them work anymore seeing as Google changes their authentication methods and APIs frequently - it's not a very stable solution.

SQLITE or alternative?

Is there working sqlite on the NST or is there some way to get it? If not, is there some alternative way, using shell commands, to extract a record from a database file?

LG G2 F320* Root and TWRP for stock LP (Alternative)

Hello mates, good day. I just got my F320L 2 days ago and was searching on how to root and install recovery on it.
I found one-click root and recovery scripts though they always fail, so here is how I rooted and installed recovery on my F320L

Just sharing for those who can't root and install recoveries on their G2's. I think other variants other than the Korean-variants are also supported. :highfive:

Touch input broken- alternative input methods?

I was given two Nexus 4 units with fractured glass to tinker with- I'd like to use them to just run a data processing app as a lower powered server. The problem is that the touch input appears to be completely dead on one unit, and only 30% of the screen responds to touch on the other!
I can't even get past the welcome screen, which is problematic. Can someone help me come up with a way to get an alternative input? I just want to get in far enough to install the app and run it, I'm thinking either via remote desktop or keyboard/mouse via OTG cable.
Both units have stock roms, which means USB debugging is off and apparently OTG support doesn't exist either. I'm feeling like I hit a brick wall here. Is there anything I can do, or are these units useless? Can a custom rom with OTG support be installed perhaps through recovery? Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful, thanks!
